I was wondering the same thing.. I mean surely they could have found a way of ending these Liza/Adam problems without pushing someone out of the window... Then again, maybe they were trying to show how resiliant the hair extensions Mia was wearing are. Now they can advertise them on Shop the Soaps as not only a fashion accessory but a safety device as well!

Yeah, lots of wasted characters, Pembo. I think that they were all brought on as attempts to grab the "younger viewers". They're not awful, but they all need better storylines. Now the "kids", on the other hand......that whole scene with JR, Jamie, Joanie, and Laurie today was so painful to watch. Jamie is the only one of them who can even remotely act - the other 3 were like brick walls talking to eachother!

This whole thing with Aidan hiding in Wildwind is getting boring.

How many times is Edmund going to try to seduce Maria in the stable / hayloft? Doesn't he get the hint that she's not ready for that?? (AND that no matter how many times he tried to pressure her, she's STILL not remembering their first time, there?!)

Silly storyline with Erica and that guy Jordan, today. Come on, do men really give compliments like that? Sarge - maybe you can help us out, here - have you ever told a woman that her "dress would make the angels weep"?!! It was a little TOO much, even for someone as glamorous as Erica!

In the mean time, the Anna-being-held-hostage story was pretty exciting. I'm not quite sure what its purpose was, but it was done well!

I have been known to give a few compliments in my day but none so cheesy as that. In my experience I would think that a lady would feel she were being patronized by saying something like that. However, given the personality of 'Erica' maybe that would work on her? Plus, why compliment the dress when you should compliment how the wonderful the lady looks IN the dress. See, I am a smooth operator, LOL!!!!

There are so many throwaway storylines lately the show is getting to be an effort to sit all the way through.

You all are my heroes...I absolutely cannot stand to watch the show lately...your PRICELESS comments are actually all I need...heehee!!!

SARGE---you ladykiller, you!!! You're absolutely right..the ladies here would've doubled over laughing/gagging, eyes ROOOOOLLLLING to the backs of their heads over the 'angels weeping' line...PUHLEEEEZE!!! And Erica bought it hook, line and sinker...oh boy!

And me too! I really can't watch this Joanie, JR, Jamie, Laurie(that her name?) mess...it is just tooooooo booooring. YAAAAWN. HOOOKAIRS.

And the Aidan thing HAS to move along already.

Anyone else NOT believe the BINKS/Chris reaction? Please, Erica has meetings of that sort all the time, no? Open your eyes!!! We all know Erica's type...the hand-kissing, eye-batting...she's the kind of gal who buys into the "angels weep" line...gaaaaggggg!

I don't like Mo-Mo's bangs...where'd HOOOLIA go? And eeeww...no offense, but Ed-Dumb's kiss made my skin crawl a little.

Oh IASW I was just thhinking how wll-choreographed the Anna hostage scene was...you know, for a soap!!! I thought it was good too...can't put my finger on why either...I guess I just didn't expect it.

Thanks, Sarge! It's evident that you are far classier than the guy who was glomming on to Erica, today! I guess you haven't seen today's installment, yet - be prepared with your barf bag, if you'll excuse the expression - this guy is cheesier than Colby! He complimented the lady in the dress, all right - about every 5 seconds - it was getting a bit sickening after the first few minutes of his tribute!

Yeah, lots of throwaway storylines.....and it seems like they threw most of them away after the "What Women Want" episode - very weird! It's like the writers don't know what direction they're supposed to be taking.....oh well, we still enjoy watching it, anyway!

Yeah, that "angels weeping" line was just too much, wasn't it?? And I didn't buy Bianca's reaction, either - she knows that that's how her mother "does business" all the time! Maybe Bianca should pick up some pointers from her....seeing as how she's the new "executive" in charge of the teen line, or whatever she is!

Ed-dumb's kiss made my skin crawl, too! It's sad because I really liked Maria and him together, years ago, before she left the show. Ever since she came back and he's been trying to force her to be "Maria", I've been disgusted every time he makes a romantic advance, for some reason!

Sorry that I missed you, again!

Haven't really been into the show all that much. Maybe this week I'll get back into it.

Previews for the week beginning January 6:


Edmund turns to Brooke when he thinks Maria wants Aidan.

Bianca and Maggie: More than friends?

David and Anna fear for the life of their unborn child.

Greenlee's outburst prompts a confession by Trey.



Coming up in 2003...

Aidan's past will show the kind of person he really is. Brooke will be involved along with Maria and Edmund.

Fusion will continue to grow, thanks to Kendall, Greenlee, Simone and Mia. It's AMC's version of Sex in the City!

Chris will play a big role in the battle of cosmetics companies, as well as new male romantic figure.

It is expected that David and Anna's baby will coming the spring, but it will be a rough time.

Brooke may not be out of the picture entirely, but Adam and Liza will work toward putting their marriage back together.

Finally, they have realized it's time for Greenlee to move on.

They are planning to add another teen to the J.R., Jamie, Laurie and Joni group.

Lab partners, Maggie and Henry may forge ahead with a romance.

Trey will become involved with the life of a new teenager and open up his life to meet new women.

Jake and Mia have a bit of difficulty between their careers and their romance.

I was watching part of the "What Women Want" episode on SoapNet last night and poor Liza got the WORST outfit in the white montage and what was up with Maggie's hat? Poor Maggie gets some of the worst clothes IMHO on the show.

Let's hope Maggie and Liza get some good wardrobe in 2003!

In what could be seen as the first sign of major change by AMC's new head writing regime, J. Eddie Peck (Jake Martin) has been released from his contract.

Peck, fresh from a successful stint on CBS's The Young and the Restless, joined the cast of AMC in August 2000. Some were critical that Peck would be playing the younger brother to Michael E Knight's Tad, a performer who is younger than Peck. Peck, however, quickly won over fans.

It is unclear if the role of Jake will be recast. </b>

Will Mia be next??

Haven't been on this thread in awhile, and now it looks like I will miss a LOT of AMC, as I am NOW a FULL TIME employee, after 15 years its about time. Anyway, I will be missing a LOT of the show, maybe catching a half hour here or there. I guess I will have to catch up and check here once in awhile. Keep me posted gang!

Wasn't today's episode kind of a weird one? I don't know why - it was just sort of strange.

I don't know why Bianca felt the need to have the BIG CONVERSATION with Maggie, out of the blue, like that - since she kept trying to push her together with Tim, over the summer, I assumed that she knew that Maggie wasn't interested in her romantically. I thought that the scenes were done well, though.

Was Maria going to tell Aidan that she loves him? I'm glad that he's not leaving PV.....at least not yet, anyway.

So glad that Brooke stood up to Ed-dumb and didn't take it back, this time! He's such a selfish idiot - he deserved the things that she said to him! I hope that she doesn't back down and apologize for being too hard on him, again - I'm glad to see that Brooke is no longer feeling sorry for herself!

I liked the scenes between Anna and David, today. I like him working in the clinic - it's much more interesting than when he was skulking around the hospital with his secret schemes, constantly trying to usurp the Martins. But......if Jake is leaving, they WILL need a new Chief of Staff. If it's not going to be David, is it going to be.......Frank????

Anna feeling that the baby isn't moving...ugh! Eat some sugar, lay down then panic! I hate unrealistic details like that.

GO BROOKE! I was cheering her on. She should have told Ed-dumb that Maria is not HIS MARIA she's Maureen and has been for 5 years! What a jerk.

Dr. Jake is leaving? That is sad. I like him too....Dr Death would make a great chief of staff! LOL!!!!! Or maybe Dr Jake will be the chief "out of town" like his mom!

Remember they said that J. Eddie Peck is leaving, not necessarily Jake-Does anyone know if they will recast or if Jake will be written off? I've had a feeling the last several shows that something was wrong with Anna's baby-they kept focusing on her not feeling well!
