All My Bags Are Packed I'm Ready To Go - Rounding off the last week before the trip!

I got my first confirmation in the mail from Disney last week.

Well yesterday I got another surprise in the mail. It was a "welcome" kit, I guess. It had a brochure with all the park maps on it and the WDW, a packing list, and a welcome note. I have never received anything like this before, so I was super excited!

Well, I was working part-time as an assistant manager at Maurices. I was looking for another part-time job to help fund my new car, my trip to WDW, and move to FL. I was having a very difficult time finding one, because Maurices put their schedule out 10 days in advance and most other places would put theres out much farther. No one wanted to give me a job because I was unable to get one after the countless interviews because they couldn't wait for Maurices to put out their schedule (FYI my manager was unwilling to put the schedule out any further in advance).

So I was walking around the mall picking up new applications that I had not gotten yet and saw that Debs was hiring for a manager position. I went in and asked about it. One of the managers told me it was full-time. So I got an application and brought it in later that week (this was last week).

Monday she called me to set up an interview. I went in Wednesday morning for my interview. The DM was in the store for a pop-up visit. I was introduced to the DM also.

I got a voicemail on Friday while at work. It was one of the managers at Debs she asked if I would call her back or stop by if I was working. So I stopped by. She offered me the position. I went back to Maurices to talk to my manager about it and she said "as soon as you accept that position your resignation is immediate." I didn't want to leave her hanging on a Friday but she told me I was done with Maurices and the store would be fine. She congradulated me on getting the job, since she knows how much I want those hours and the benefits.

I start next week.

Ok, so our schedule is looking something like this... so you can see how my trip report will look like.

Day 1: Arrive - This will be our way to the airport, at the airports, on the plane, ME, arriving at the hotel, Downtown Disney, and dinner at Planet Hollywood.
Day 2: Magic Kingdom - Our day at Magic Kingdom, breakfast at Main Street Bakery, lunch at Pecos Bill's, dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe.
Day 3: Epcot - This will be mostly Future World, and a bit of World Showcase. Breakfast we'll get at Everything Pop to go (won't eat before Mission Space), lunch at Sunshine Season, dinner at Tangerine Cafe (and maybe somewhere else in World Showcase if Eric doesn't like the food there).
Day 4: Animal Kingdom - Spending the day with the animals, breakfast at Everything Pop, lunch at Flame Tree BBQ, dinner at 'Ohana.
Day 5: Our day off - time at Downtown Disney, Disney's Boardwalk, Pop Century, etc. Breakfast at Boma, lunch at Earl of Sandwich, and dinner at Everything Pop.
Day 6: Epcot - Again, we will spend more time at World Showcase, but will hit up Soarin' first thing in the morning. Breakfast at Everything Pop, Lunch at Cantina de San Angel, dinner at Teppan Edo.
Day 7: Disney Studios - ending our trip off at the Studios with our favorite ride, RnR! Breakfast at Everything Pop, lunch at Everything Pop also, and dinner at Backlot Express.
Day 8: Bye Bye WDW - Pop Century, ME, airport, plane, etc. Breakfast at Everything Pop, lunch at Everything Pop or at the airport (depending on our flight time).

Wow! I have not posted here in a long time!

Well to fill everyone in... I started my new job. It's pretty much the same as the other.

Eric's paid in full for the vacation package and plane ticket. Disney World here we come!

So, we have lost out on the cheap tickets for AirTran. I still want to hold out for cheap ones from SouthWest or JetBlue. I'll probably have to wait until October for those.

I was at Eric's one night earlier this week and checked out the plane ticket prices. JetBlue and SouthWest are pretty steady. Well, so is AirTran generally. Well I checked and there was only business class tickets avail. WHAT? How do you sell out of tickets? So I think this put the pressure on Eric to get me his money.

Well the following day I checked the prices on AirTran and they had tickets again. But the direct flight down was $94. Now it's $99. I wonder why they raised the price on it. I'm not sure if it drops in price is I should book it or continue to hold out for JetBlue. JetBlue's fight times (as are SouthWest's) are far better times to fly than AirTrans.

I suppose if I have no luck with JetBlue or SouthWest, I can just book AirTran and just have layovers (or Delta since they are really the cheapest if you are willing to do layovers).

I have to decide, if they release $94 flights with JetBlue (which makes the tickets about $200) if it's worth that to fly direct or to book with a layover for cheaper.

Vacation planning has been up and down the past couple weeks or so.

I watch airfare like a hawk. As you all know, I've been holding out for JetBlue to offer cheap fares for our dates. I determined that they only release those fares a month, maybe 2 at most, but that's a stretch.

So AirTran had been running $165 round-trip with direct flights, but the returning flight was at 9 am. Not too bad, but having to leave the resort at 6 am... ick.

Anyways... I was talking with Eric trying to get his money and I checked AirTran and... poof... all their cheap airfare was gone. This put the pressure on Eric, I guess... he got me his money the next day.

The next day I checked and AirTran brought back cheap airfare, but the direct flight down and direct flight back were now going to cost $199. Non-direct flights were going to cost $186 round-trip. I have been watching AirTran since then for them to drop their direct prices again.

Well yesterday morning I checked AirTran (JetBlue and SouthWest also) and AirTran was running the same prices as before. Later in the afternoon I checked and I couldn't believe my eyes. $51 each way flights! I just about peed my pants. I didn't know what to do. I immediately ran to my parents for guidance. The total for round-trip with taxes and such was $144. These were non-direct flights. My dad asked me how much direct had been and I told him $165. He said don't get the tickets then, direct is better.

So all day today I had been thinking about what I gave up. Especially since there was no way of knowing what JetBlue or SouthWest was going to offer in the future. They could lower prices or not. And AirTran was the same. I could hope for them to lower their prices again. I just had to bite the bullet.

So I got home from work today (after a hike with Eric). I checked prices at AirTran to see if they were still low. They weren't what they were yesterday. They were back to their "normal" airfare. I was thinking to check JetBlue, but thought it was probably pointless, why would JetBlue lower their airfare.

I checked anyways. Again I almost peed my pants!:scared1: I couldn't believe what I was seeing! $165 round trip with direct flights and GREAT TIMES!:woohoo: So I ran like the wind (so fast I upset the dog) to get my credit card. I booked those bad boys before they had the chance to change the price. My mom says "maybe they will get cheaper!" My response, "from what I've seen with JetBlue, I doubt it, and I can't risk losing this great deal!"

The flight times are:
BUF - MCO 12:00 pm - 2:46 pm
MCO - BUF 2:55 pm - 5:29 pm

We would have to arrive at BUF around 10:30 - 11:00 am, which means we would leave here at 8:30 am the earliest. As for leaving, ME will pick us around noon from Pop Century. I guess we'll be requesting a late check out. :)

I am so EXCITED right now! Do you understand why JetBlue is so good? Big seats, DIRECTTV.. ok that's really it... and the great flight times and direct flights.

In case I haven't clarified, here's the breakdown of the costs of our vacation (somewhat assumed):

Assumed Cost of Food: $597.77
Assumed Cost of Drinks: $259.99
Plane Tickets: $330
Package: $847.78
Total: $2035.54
*This is with the PIN code I received via email.

Assuming there was no discount offered (everything would be the same except the package):
Package: $1243.28
Total: $2431.04

So with the PIN code, we saved $395.50.

I also went ahead and priced out Disney Visa's Free Dining discount (most things are the same except food expenses and package):
Assumed OOP Food Expenses: $175.14
Package: $1108.88
Total: $1874.01

So with Free Dining we would have saved (from rack rate) $557.03. And savings would be (from PIN code offer) $161.53.

I decided that we would not go with Free Dining because I didn't want to spend that much time in TS restaurants. I much preferred spending time back at the resort mid-day for a nap or such.

So yesterday Eric and I went on a mini-trip, so here is my trip report for it. Sorry, no pics.

It all started a couple days ago. I saw an ad on TV for a carload sale at Darien Lake over the weekend (for those of you reading this and don't know, it's the largest amusement park in NY). It was $24.99 for your car. That's cheap! So I asked Eric if he wanted to go with me. Actually he's the only person I know who would go with me, since my sister had to work. The only day I could go was Sunday since I worked Saturday. At first Eric didn't want to go. He had too much to do over the weekend and he wanted it to be a "quiet" weekend.

So here's what Eric had to do over the weekend:
Change my oil
Check my breaks (they were squealing and I was having a hard time breaking)
Check my tire pressure
Check my left rear wheel bearing
Change a friend's exhaust system
Fix his filler neck
Change his oil

He called me up at told me to come over after work on Friday so he could get all my shinanigans done. But I didn't get there until 7, so all he did was tear my breaks apart. He wasn't very happy with me for it. Saturday we went up there (to his parents' house where he was working on the cars) early. He got my car done in no time. He said my breaks were fine. He changed my oil, put ZMAX in my fuel and forgot to check the wheel bearing. I checked the tire pressure and Eric filled them up. One tire was FLAT!

He then moved on and fixed his friend's exhaust and didn't get to his truck. I talked to him when I got out of work and told him that since I wasn't gonna get to go to Darien Lake, I wanted to go for a walk with him to burn off some steam. Eric says to me "I would like to go, I've been thinking about getting outta town and doing something different..." So he went and asked his friends if they wanted to go also, and he'd pay for them. They said no. He said he would think about it. I told him I'd call him in the morning.

So I did, after falling asleep at midnight and walking up at 7 (my mom's alarm clock woke me up). I sat around until 9 am and then called Eric. He said he wasn't sure if he wanted to go cuz he was so tired and had to fix his truck. Then he said he could do his truck during the week. I was like "let's just go while it's cheap!" So he got up and took a shower. I called him around 10:15 and he still wasn't ready. He said it would only take him a few minutes. So I said I was just about to leave.

My dad and I went outside to take some stuff outta my trunk and add stuff for the trip (which my dad told me "You are not going to Disney World, you don't need so much stuff!"). It was really nice out. I didn't even need my sweater or jacket that my dad forced me to take.

I got to his place around 10:30 or so. He still wasn't ready. But we left about 10 minutes later. I had a 1/2 a tank of gas and didn't know how much I would use driving to Darien Lake. Just to elaborate... Darien Lake is roughly 2 hours away from where I live. Eric semi-argued with me to take his truck instead of my car since he has EZPass, but I said, my car gets better gas milage. I pulled up to the gas station (which was full service) and hopped outta my car to start filling up. Eric's like "why not let the guy do it, and I'm like he's standing around like an idiot, I'll be faster." Then Eric asked me if I wanted anything to drink. I said a Coke Zero and he asked if I wanted an energy drink... then I was like screw it I'm going in because it's full service. I picked up a Code Red Mountain Dew. Eric got some Red Bull. After my car was done filling (which was about 10 gal and Eric yelled at me for over-filling my tank) I washed my windows and headlights. We were on our way.

OMG! What a long drive! It took us forever to get there. Once we hit the freeway section of I90, it started to mist. We called one of Eric's friends to ask them to check the weather for us. He said it was gonna rain until 2 and then clear up. Well after the freeway, it pretty much stopped misting.

We got to Darien Lake, paid the $7 for parking and parked... RIGHT NEXT TO THE FRONT GATE! Wow! I said "I have no problem walking back to the car for anything I guess!" We went and got in line to purchase our tickets. $25.49 with tax I think. Not a bad deal!

We walked in and right up to the Predator. It's the wooden coaster there. We decided to get the herky-jerky outta the way first. We waited roughly 20 minutes, and that's only because they were loading the trains so slowly! It was actually not has wicked as I had remembered it (FYI it has been 7 years since I had been to Darien Lake). It was quite fun. After that we headed towards the back of the park to ride the new roller coaster they opened. It's like motorcycles or something. We walked passed Boomerang (it's a roller coaster where it lifts you up the lift backwards, drops you forwards through the station up into a cobra roll, then a vertical loop and up another incline, where it then lifts you up, holds you a few seconds, and drops you back down, but backwards. I had never been on this before. I said I wanted to ride the new coaster before lines go too long on it. So we walk up to it and it was closed. I figured because it had been raining. So we headed back towards to the park and stopped at Boomerang and contimplated if we should ride it or now. We agreed to ride it later when we headed back that way for Motocoaster.

We saw they were starting to operate a lot of the rides, one of which was the pirate ship. So we both wanted to ride it. The bumper cars were right there next to it so we waited for them while they were test running Pirate. It took a wee bit of time to get on bumper cars. But they were fun. I haven't rode those since I was very, very, very little. Then we were on to Pirate. We pretty much walked on it, sat second to last row. It ended up making Eric a wee bit nausious. So we sat down for a few minutes. We decided we were fairly hungry (it was like 1:30), so we got funnel cake cuz Eric loves it. They had a couple of options: cinnomon sugar, apples, or strawberries. We went with apples and cinnomon sugar. It was really good. HOT!

After that we felt pretty good and headed over to Viper. This is the first roller coaster I ever road that went upside down. One year, I road it 9 times in a row (without getting off). I would have rode it more, except I was started to get sick. Eric was still feeling a lil oozy, so we stopped at Subway, got a soda and Eric wanted a cookie. We sat there for a while... I pointed out to Eric that the soda tasted different. He goes "it's the end of the thing." I said, "nope, find a drinking fountain and taste the water... it's the same flavor."

Here I'm gonna take a lil aside, everyone talks about the water in WDW and the way it tastes... this is how the water tasted at Darien Lake.

Ok, so after the soda we went on Viper. Eric was conserned about it but we agreed it was a pretty smooth ride. Again, barely any wait. We waited and ended up in the red car again (we got the red car on Predator also). You start off going down a lil drop outside of the station, you turn then head up the lift hill. OMG! The chain was SO LOUD! It was louder than on the wooden coaster. Then you crest the hill, go down another lil hill, turn and down the big drop into a vertical loop. Somewhere after that into a cobra roll, then somewhere towards the end there's a double corkscrew. WOW! You really didn't feel any jerky-ness at all! Going upside felt natural. It was an amazing feeling!

The only other roller coaster I have been on that goes upside is Rock'n'Roller Coaster and you just don't get the same feeling being in the dark. I pointed it out to Eric and his response was "I don't even remember going upside down in RNR (my mom had the same comment when I was telling her about the day later).

When we first arrived at Darien Lake, I asked Eric (joking too) if he was gonna win me a stuffed animal. To my surprise he said yes. This was a surprise to me, because he has never done anything like that before... Anyways, after Viper we played a midway game. It's one where you throw the rings onto the bottles. I couldn't believe how cheap it seemed. We didn't win. Oh well. So we walked around some more and I showed my discontent to Grizzly Run being closed. It was one of my favorite rides as a child and I hadn't ridden since (it's always closed).

I have no idea what we did for a while... we played some more midway games (one where you throw the bag to knock down the milk bottles, another where you throw balls into a giant tub, and another ring game that was even more cheaper). We came across a girl working while we were on the midway and she said that the games were $6 a game when Six Flags owned Darien Lake (now they were $2). So she tried to give us some tips on how to actually score, but we still lost. Oh well. It was fun anyways.

We walked around and looked at the rides, but nothing appealed to us. I kept asking where the dark rides were. I don't believe Darien Lake has any. Eric decided he wanted a pretzel. So he went and grabbed one while I watch a guessing game. The guy guessed both the age and weight wrong. The crowd began to build up... he continued to guess age and weight wrong. He got a few people, but I'm not sure what for.

We sat down and ate the pretzel. It was good size. VERY, VERY salty. We ended up whiping all the salt off. Eric also got cheese, but it was very mild in flavor. The pretzel though was really good, lots better than Auntie Anne's.

Eric wanted to get going... we had only been there a couple of hours. I wasn't ready to leave yet (I mean I drove there!). And there were still a few things I wanted to do. We tried to find Mind Eraser. This is when I realized Darien Lake has a bad layout.

Eventually we found it. It was our longest wait. They were running only one train. But the line moved pretty fast since ppl would leave since they were sick of waiting. In actuality, the line would have gone faster if people understood it. After the queue there are three entrances that you can choose for front, middle, or back of the train. People were just gathering at the rear of the train and not letting people pass who wanted to ride in the front. Anyways, they came online and said they were gonna load the second train. Lines went by much faster after that. Eric and I always ride middle (well I do, the front is too slow and jerky, back just whips you around, I feel). So we got into a line in the middle of the train. It turns out that line had only 1 working train (like in one train the harnesses were broken) so we actually ended up waiting forever since our line had to board every other train. We didn't get the red train because of it. :(

Mind Eraser is an inverted coaster which I love! You start up the lift right out of the station, and turn as you go down the first hill. The first inversion is a cobra roll, but there's a vertical loop and barrel roll in there somewhere. This ride was bad. It was really wicked. Our heads were going all over the place. My hair was a complete mess after it! Of course Eric wanted to leave right away, but I had to let my head settle before I could drive, plus I wanted to see if I could do Ride of Steel, MotoCoaster, and Boomerang.

Sometime I saw this lil shop called Five Little Monkeys. It looked like they sold stuffed animals, so I wanted to stop. I was so excited when we walked in there to see they were the same company that sold the animals that I buy in Animal Kingdom! I had to buy one! So I walked around trying to decide what to get. I already have a Flamingo, Elephant, and Hippo. Here they had some weird big nosed animal, a rhino, some others. I picked up the rhino at first, but then saw a meerkat. That's what I go. It was bigger and cheaper than the rhino anyways. But I was still super excited.

We headed over to the back of the park to check out MotoCoaster which still wasn't running. Then I asked Eric if we should do Boomerang. We both felt neither of our stomachs could handle it. But somewhere Eric said he felt like he wanted speghetti and garlic bread. I said there used to be a restaurant here that served that so lets find it. So we did and he says "I want to eat it at home!" And I was like "I'm not cooking" and he goes "all you have to do is cook the pasta" and I'm like "you cook the pasta." Then I was like, what if we go to the Olive Garden. Well we didn't decide then, but pretty much decided we were going to leave. And I had to buy cotton candy before we left. So we had to find the cotton candy vendor. We were walking past the walkway to Ride of Steel and decided to walk over there and see how long the line was.

Ride of Steel is like 210 feet tall. That may not seem like a lot in today's roller coaster world, but I still haven't rode it or anything remotely close or taller. I have panic attack just thinking about it. I told Eric that if the line was like it was at Mind Eraser, I couldn't ride Ride of Steel because I'd have a panic attack before the ride started.

Well there was barely any line at all, we watched a train take off and do the first bit of track. I decided I couldn't handle the climb. I just want to clarify that I'm not scared of heights, I'm scared of stairs... my fear is that the ride stops and I have to walk down them stairs.

I'm gonna finish this later, I have to get ready for work.

Ok, a wee bit more to add.

MotoCoaster remained closed for the time we were there. I wanted to ride Boomerang but was afraid the going backwards was going to make me even more oozy. So we skipped it.

Finally found the cotton candy place. So I got me some of that! YUM!

We headed out of the park, checking out shops here and there.

We headed off towards Buffalo to go to Olive Garden. We got there and it was busy, they said a half hour wait, but we only waited 20 minutes. We sat there trying to decide what we wanted to eat. I just couldn't figure it out. Nothing really appealed to me. That's the problem with the Olive Garden. We ordered peach tea and I talked Eric into getting the chicken carbonara while I got chicken and broccoli.

Eric's was chicken and shrimp with pancetta bacon on bucatini. I'm not sure what kind of sauce but it was GOOD! Mine was breaded chicken with broccoli on occhette with a garlic sauce. The sauce was more like water. It wasn't very good. Chicken was really good though. The tea came out with a couple pieces of ice and it was hot. The salad was good, I ate the pepprocinis, that was a mistake. Breadsticks always good. The waitress never came back and checked on us. I finished my tea before she even brought out the food (yea, I was that thirsty) and never got a refill. Eric straight up asked for a box and the check. I was gonna pay, but Eric did.

After we left, I started my car and it said low oil (after we changed the oil the day before). So Eric said to go to a gas station to check it and get something to drink. I said, "can we just go to Target instead?" So we did, it was right there. Eric spent 15 min looking for pens, I wanted to go look at DVDs, but he told me to wait for him. So then he spent 20 min looking at magazines. I wanted to find him a screen protector for his iTouch, but they had nothing for iPods. Then we found the Halloween section, very cool. We looked for candy corn (for his friend, it's his fave) and finally found it. I bought Alien and Nightmare on Elm St since I don't have them.

Then Eric went to look at the car stuff. He spent another 20 min there. FINALLY we left. He checked my oil and said it was fine and added some octane booster to my car.

It took us only an hour and a half to get home. I averaged 34 mpg which is really good since my car is 10 years old and has a V6.

I decided that I don't need to return to Darien Lake again for years and years. It's no where near exciting at WDW. Eric agreed with me on this. We had fun, but its not worth the 4 hours on the road for a couple hours at the park. Maybe it would have been better if it was warm, but I doubt it.

Rounding out the last bit before the trip. 39 days left!

My mom and I went to a Chinese buffet the other day. I barely could eat anything. So I started toying with the idea of eliminating Boma's breakfast buffet. I was really looking forward to it. I figured if we didn't get to eat something from breakfast any other day, we could definately do it here. Well there are several downfalls to it: 1) cost is the major player - around here $16.99 for a breakfast buffet is obscene; 2) time - its our only day off, and I would like to take it easy, even if we are awake that early, I think I'd rather just relax and enjoy the hotel; 3) and lastly, Eric didn't like Boma dinner - now I'm sure breakfast is not as "different" as dinner is, but I know when we get there I'll have to listen to him moan and groan.

Another thing that popped into my mind with not going to Boma is our day at MK. It'd be a pretty tight squeeze with the way I have it scheduled already. We'd have to be done with MK by 4:00 or so so we can get to WL in time for our dinner (which I booked early to make sure we could get back to MK for Wishes). I decided to make an ADR for WCC on the day we were supposed to go to Boma. This way we have plenty of time in MK, plus if we get done early, we can sit down and enjoy SpectroMagic (which I have never seen) and then Wishes.

Wow, I just was looking over my pre-trippy... I can't believe I started this in June. Has it really be that long? Time really has gone by fast!

Guess what came in the mail today? Our ME documents! YAY! The trip is still so far away. I thought they sent you these 2 weeks in advance? Is this the same as the final documents they send you?

Last time they sent us a lil plastic envelop with the ME stuff in it and a bunch of paper work and vouchers. I didn't get that this time. :(

I got my final docs in the mail today! Great surprise to come home too! I'm really getting excited.

I'm planning on going shopping for the trip this weekend. I somehow managed to open tomorrow, have Sat, Sun, and Monday off and close on Tuesday. Way long weekend for me!

I also have to "pack" to see what we need to purchase that we don't already have.

With the trip standing at one month away, the excitement keeps building! I mean I didn't even sleep that well last night and I'm totally excited and energetic today!

I also read in the newspaper that a local winery is being showcased at the F&WF today. That's really exciting!

Even though I keep saying the same thing over and over again, I have the weekend completely off. I'm going to get a jump on packing. I can pack lots of the things, or at least get them set aside, for the trip. I also want to get the shopping done for the trip and get that stuff packed away.

I know there are a few toiletries we need to pick up, but Eric needs a new pair of sneakers.

I'm trying to decide how I want to dress. When I worked at Maurices I kept telling myself I wanted to be cute and fashionable... now I don't know if I care so much. I mean I want to be cute and all, but I want to be really comfortable also. I mean I said to myself I'd look cute from my legs up... but be wearing Crocs or sneakers! LOL! No pics of my feet!:rotfl2:

Oh, and tomorrow I'm gonna do a "detox" diet. Not really a detox diet... but I'm gonna eat low fat, mostly veggies for a week or so to drop a couple extra pounds before my trip. I'm also getting myself back into routine of working out and stuff. Except for the fact its starting to get cold and rainy, maybe I'll set up for a couple of hour walks as long as its not raining... otherwise belly dancing, bhangra, and kickboxing is the name of the game. Its going to be really nice this weekend, so I'm planning on making Eric go with me on a few hikes the next couple of days.

Ok... so it seems that the Orlando area seems to stay around their average highs... so the temp is probably going to be around the high 70s to lower 80s. It's gonna be a hot one.

So I compiled my list of items I need to get for my Potatoheads. Some of the stuff they might not carry anymore... but this is what I need that I don't have:
Mickey Glasses
Sneakers w/Mickey Logo
Tea Cup Ride Base
Rain Poncho
Dumbo Ride Base
Left Cruella Arm
Left Mr Incredible Arm
YOMD Mickey Ears
Pizza w/Mickey Pepperoni

I had a total OMG today. Flights out of Buffalo have been slashed in 1/2! If you book today through Thursday for travel from Oct 28 - Feb something you get 50% off! That would make plane tickets to MCO at $93 ROUNDTRIP!

Who woulda thought? Who coulda predicted it? I am mildly disappointed, but I would have never held off this long. I'm just in shock! I have never seen airfare that low from Buffalo to Orlando ever.

3 weeks left!

Well rounding out the last two weeks almost everything of mine is packed except for some clothing (capris that my mom is gonna shorten to shorts, socks, etc) and last minute stuff that I have to use the day I leave. I have bought everything we need for our trip also. I have a few minor things left to complete for the trip:
Get my nails done
Paint my toe nails
Wash and shine my Crocs
Charge all batteries (which I could probably do today and for the most part would stay charged)
Once my backpack gets washed I can pack that up with all my inflight entertainment needs.

So 9 days out and I am completely packed except for my last minute stuff.

I'm planning on heading to Eric's later today to make him pack.

I'll tie up any loose ends on Friday, and pack the rest of everything the mrning I leave. I really hope to God Eric remembers to pack his toothbrush, cell phone charger, comb, razer (and charger) and his medicine.

So I headed over to Eric's last night to try to get him packed up for the trip. I knew if I waited til Friday to do it I would be a total witch... The stress of thinking about what he was going to do.

Well I got there and we started packing. He was going through his closet and I was sitting there checking things off the list. It was like pulling teeth. Everything he pulled out was dirty or something. Anyways, we were making at the same time so we took a break to eat and watch Saludos Amigos, which I have never seen before.

At first I was like "Where's the cartoon? I thought this was a cartoon!" I actually found it quite interesting. We didn't get to The Three Cabarellos. I was passing out.

Let's rewind a minute: the past few nights I hadn't been sleeping, only a couple hours a night. So I was dead tired.

So I told Eric I was gonna head home and I'd come back on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday to help him finish packing. I told him not to wait til Friday because I would have a cow when I was there (meaning I was just going to be really mean and bossy).

So I went into his bedroom to get my packing list and somehow started checking out his closet. He has this section that is all new shirts. I was like "What's wrong with this shirt? It's nice!" So I started pulling shirts left and right. Then I found this tee from Norway and I called to Eric "You should wear this one when we go to Epcot!" And he said "So people think we are from Norway?"

Anyways, I ended up being there for another 1/2 hour - 45 min while he packed everything into his carry on. At least he's packed now.

My mom is gonna sew up my shorts today and tomorrow, so those will be the last to get packed. Then there are a few things here and there that will get thrown into the suitcases they night before or the day we leave.

I have all the batteries charged and ready to go. Got the video cam ready. I'm not sure how much I'll use it. I want Eric to use it and me to take pics. I think I'm gonna go to Eric's and give him a tutorial on how to use the video cam. Not that it's that hard, but you never know.

So in all actuality, I have 8 days left before we leave. I'm not sure what to do with myself. I work 1/2 day today and tomorrow, full days on Wed, Thur, and Sat, and have Friday off. I'll work a full day on Sunday and I don't even know if I'll work Monday, or how long for that matter. I hope this last week goes by really fast.

The weather looks good so far for here and there (knock on wood).

Oh... for one last thing... I found out my driver's rear wheel is falling off last night... so I can't drive and Eric can't fix it until we get back. Well I'm gonna take it to him tonight for him to tightened the lug nuts and see if that solves the problem... otherwise, I need to replace my wheelbearing (which I just replaced about 6 mo ago FYI).
