All In One printer suggestion?

Our HP printer died Christmas Eve (when I *HAD* to print something of course). It's something with the print head, and I've reseated, cleaned, everything I can think of, but no good. So, I can either buy a new print head for between $35-$80 or get a new printer. We haven't really been happy with this model, so a replacement wouldn't be bad.

I need:
*Wireless
*Scanner
*Color Printer

We do print photos and documents. This is a home PC.

Any suggestions? I'm liking the Canon Pixma MG6220, but it's hard to tell from just reading online.

I have a HP Color Laserjet CM1312nfi MFP which is now discontinued and have been very happy with it. It has printer, copier, scan and fax functions. It is not wireless but has four external slots where you can put in camera memory cards directly.

I would suggest going to the www.hp.com and look at what they have that is available.

I agree with Cheshire, I love my HP printer. I just bought a new one this fall, it is wireless, scans, and prints. DD got a new one for Christmas too.

Dang, I must have gotten a lemon HP printer then. As soon as I bought generic ink for the thing and had it for about a year it stopped working properly and it drives me crazy. The ink also costs a small fortune compared to other inks. I was hoping someone would suggest another printer brand.

I've never bought generic ink for mine. The HP cartridge lasts for at least a year.

I agree with Cheshire, I love my HP printer. I just bought a new one this fall, it is wireless, scans, and prints. DD got a new one for Christmas too.

So what model # do you have? I think ours would have lasted, but I accidentally released the latch on the print head (which I didn't need to do), changed the ink, then closed the cover which slammed on the print head latch and did something to damage the print head.

I got a Kodak all-in-one. It does everything, and the ink is super cheap.

The HP cartridge lasts for at least a year.

WOW! Not sure how your ink last that long. We don't do a ton of printing but still have to replace the ink every 4 - 6 months.

My HP is a c6180 with the seperate inks that spray the ink and those cartridges last us about a month or two each and black about 2 months. There are 5 color cartridges that on sale cost just over $11 and black is around the $21 price point this is why I tried the generic inc. It is about $75 to replace all the cartridges which is ridiculous. I would say we copy on moderate amount.

We have the Cannon MX340. While it does a fine job printing/scanning/etc, if we change our network key, we have to uninstall the printer drivers from all the computers, reinstall them, and use a cable to set up the printer again (for the first computer, then the others can just use the driver wirelessly). We have had to change our network key several times this year when we switched service providers for our internet. Getting the printer re-set up was a PAIN. Anyhow, all that to say, check out that feature on the Cannon you're looking at before you buy. --Katie

brother mfc-495cw (or the newer model that came out).. have 5 of them betwene my office and home. oldest one is close to 2 years and still running strong. comes with paperport software which is awesome and i buy my ink on ebay for $8 shipped to my door for all 4 cartridges. It has the flat bed scanner and multi-page feed, copier, printer and fax.
