Tell the CBR I said hello - hope to be back next Dec.

this is way too funny! my husband and i have been planning a surprise trip since september to go to disney on feb. 5-10.
so on xmas we surprised our kids. we usually dont give them anything but this year we were going to with this. we didnt know how to at first [[we were thinking a scavenger hunt]] but decided to do this:
we bought them each a disney themed tshirt b/c my oldest daughter had been complaining that we dont get into the "disney spirit" when we're there. [[we usually just wear everyday clothes]] so we wrapped the presents and gave them to the kids. after they opened them, i gave them and envelope. they thought nothing of it! so it was working out perfect! my oldest even said "is this a merry christmas note or something?"
so she opened it and read only the part that said PACK UP THOSE TSHIRTS BECAUSE YOU GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!! and started hysterical crying b/c she was so happy! [[i thought the reaction was going to be so different and i was shocked so i forgot to tape everything lol]] my other daughter read the rest and started jumping up and down and running aroung the house screaming [[i thought that would be my other daughters reaction too lol]] and my son didn't really do anything but now hes in the disney spirit =]
we're all so excited. its only 37 days away and all day all i hear is mom come look at these pictures of the POLY! [[thats where we're staying... and its my dream resort and my oldest daughters too]]
only 37 days!![]()
Great pictures! So happy for you![]()

thanks! and you too! how long is your trip going to be? ours is only 5 days but we booked 4 and got the extra one and the gift card =]
We were booked for 6 nights, but changed to 7 nights when the Buy 4 Get 3 free deal came out! So 7 nights, 8 days, and a $200 gift card!!![]()
thats great!
my oldest daughter is in high school and we didnt want her to miss too much school so we only did 5 days lol
but were all still very excited even though the trip is shorter than usual
Yes, I am wondering how much longer we will be able to take our oldest out of school for a week. Probably only a few more years. Then we will either have to shorten the trip or travel in the summer.
Thanks! I will be sure to take lots of CBR pics for you!![]()

And then, when they're in college and have ridiculously long breaks, you can go in January again, like we're doing!![]()
As many pics I take at WDW, I have a bad habit of not taking pics at the CBR. I have a few from over the years, but not many considering how pretty the grounds are.
I did take pics of the new pirate ship/pool in Sept. My son loved it![]()
That is sooo cute I just found this thread soooo adorable I hope to do the same thing when my kids are bout your children's ages!
Great thread! We surprised our granddaughters....6 and 3...on Christmas Eve with the news that they are going on their first trip to Disney World this month. We're just going for the weekend this time....we live in Georgia so it's an easy drive....but with the new military tickets we'll be able to do a lot more at a better price than we originally thought.
We were in the same boat as you with having to keep the trip a secret for several months and it was so hard! We told our son and daughter-in-law and our daughter so they could mark out the time on their schedules and, like you and your husband, we had to talk in code whenever we talked about the trip. It helped build the excitement for all of us though....lots of fun.
Our big reveal was at our traditional family dinner at Waffle House on Christmas Eve...what can I say, we love a redneck Christmas. DH and I bought the girls Disney princess sweat shirts along with one of those cards that let you record a message. We had them open the shirts first and then the card which said "Merry Christmas Mackenzie, Kaeleigh and Addison. You're going to Disney World!" Like your boys, they were a little stunned at first, but then they got very excited. I wish I could post photos....the oldest's eyes were as big as saucers.
I made them each a countdown calendar and I also printed out park maps for them. Their mom finally had to hide the card because they kept playing it and running around the house shouting "We're going to Disney World!" As much as I love going myself, I honestly think that introducing my granddaughters is going to be the most fun I've had since we introduced our children to Disney over 20 years ago.
We'll be there January 16-19 and I'm already thinking about when we can go back!
Just read your Christmas surprise, finally. Love the pictures of the boys. They look so happy when they knew they were really going to back to Disney this year.
Oh my gosh, I loved that story, thanks for posting the pictures! I never did manage to pull this off for my kids, came close once but since I was pulling them out of school and we had to make up work before the trip, I had to tell them about a month before. But it was still a shock. My dream is to pick them up from school, head to the airport and just spring it on them, maybe someday!
Thanks again, and do take lots of pictures. Are you doing a pirate room?
Have fun!
Wow, what a great story! I really enjoyed reading about your surprise! I hope that the next 8 days go by quickly for you! I cannot wait to hear about your trip!
