All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

:cool1: That would be great!!

Or not. :upsidedow

I love Brooklyn's pictures! John's pose is funny! Did she do that with everyone?

Nope, just John. He was in a cooperative mood, so he went with it. Had she tried it on Day Three, it probably would not have turned out as well for her. ;)

Go Brooklyn! Awesome pictures! :thumbsup2 You are following in your Memom's footsteps! I bet those make Drew proud. ;)

Am I the only person who knows nothing about Star Wars? I don't know who any of those characters are. I need to rent those old movies I guess but I have a hard time getting into Sci-Fi stuff. :confused3

I don't know Star Wars, but when it has a Disney connection, I am good with seeing it on parade and around the park. As long as others are okay with me calling them white guys and brown guys and green guys and tall guys and short guys and masked guys and such. :)

Hi friends! Sorry I've been seriously MIA. I'm in the midst of home remodeling. My floors were done last week, so yea!! That big part is done. Now it's cleaning the fine construction dust off everything :)

Have a great week!

Yay for house renovation! I got to do that last year when I got my income tax back. This year, I didn't get enough back to do anything with, unfortunately. It's already gone, and it is not even here.

Getting all caught up after being seriously behind yet again! :confused3

My heart just broke for you reading your post about Rafiki's. Hope you are doing better!

Loved the jingle jungle pictures.

Loved your pictures from OKW. I added three nights to our stay and if our waitlists don't come through, we will be staying there for the first time. I will definitely have to get some OKW merchandise.

Love Brooklyn's pictures! She is going to be a great photographer too. It was also nice to get to see MeMom for a change. :)

Seems like everyone has been very busy these past few weeks. I have a lot going on this week with tutoring and Read Me Night, but at least it's not stressful stuff.

Adding nights - :cool1:!!! Some people don't like OKW because it is so spread out, and I might feel that way if I stayed there for a whole week, but I want to at least try it for a night or two sometime. And I love visiting. ::yes::

Brooklynn did a great job on the pictures.:goodvibes I hope all went well today with your unit on Mexico. Be sure to let us know how it went.

We have just gotten an Ulta here in my town. I haven't been in it yet.

Yes, let us know about Olivia's. If we don't get to it when Jill is still there, that may be something Brooklynn and I do on a resort-hopping day.

I think you got my vibes that were floating around, because I was just thinking that we haven't heard from you in a bit.

Ulta is a good store for beauty supplies. They always have coupons out! That's when I shop!

Sounds like a lot of us have been busy lately!
Whena are you all going? I will be there 4/1-4/5!

Love all Brooklynn's pictures! :) I remember when the girls were younger, we would buy them those disposable cameras to carry on vacation. It was always so funny to see what they took pictures of!

Remember Brooklynn posed her daddy.

DSC01048.jpg

:lmao: That's great!

Tell Brooklynn her pictures were so awesome! And she even managed to get Memom in there a few times....no easy task!

No doubt in my mind that you're a solid teacher. Glad that your evaluation went well. Didn't Tennessee get a waiver to no longer participate in NCLB? Seems like I read that recently. That would make things so much easier I would think.

Great job on the photos Brooklynn! Looks like she's taking after her MeMom!

I wish I had known about the Culture Week stuff earlier. Sometimes our principal just throws things like this at us - 'Oh yeah, let's just combine the culture stuff with Read Me Week' - and we have to do the best we can to get something together. (Should I mention our principal is a man? :rolleyes1)

:rotfl2 Thanks for the belly laugh, MeMom! "Just" is a 4-letter word to those of us who like to plan ahead.

Hi,
Read it all tonight. Congrats Jill and John.

Great report and pics, makes me feel like I am there.

Loved the Old Key West pics. 52 days I think and we will be there. I am going to save for grand Floridian DVC. Hopefully. LOL

Looks like you all have a little photographer on your hands. her pics were great.

Have a good one..

Our hallway doesn't look too bad. Eeyore in a sombrero is looking pretty cute out there, I must say. :eeyore: We're setting up the 'mercado' today. My class is in the process of drawing some of the Oaxacan carvings, since the clay thing bombed. I talked to the Art teacher, and she had a book that I borrowed, so I was able to show the kids many samples. She said she would have been glad to have helped them make things, if she had had notice. She couldn't do it this week, though, because she has her unannounced observation, so she has to stick to her script for this week.

Everyone who is going on a spring trip, please send lots of F&G pictures on FB, or put them on here.

Yep, and now we have the beauty of the digital world, which makes it easy to put them out to share with others. I bet your girls had some very memorable pictures. :)

I knew I was in the airport one. I didn't know I was within 'capture' distance in one. I have to be more careful when she's around with that dangerous piece of equipment now! ;)

We did get some relief. Our district will manage to make it just as stressful, though. They can take a good thing and twist it into something bad in a heartbeat! :upsidedow I'll go with a very reserved slightly easier over a so much easier for now, but I'll let you know as time goes on. :goodvibes

I think sometimes men don't realize the behind-the-scenes work that goes on behind putting an event together properly. Of course, if it comes to something they care about, they can be well-prepared. They are funny creatures. I do appreciate them for all the good things they do, however. :thumbsup2 Yardwork, fixing leaky faucets, car stuff, moving things - I rarely find myself relying on a woman for these things, so I guess we'll keep these funny creatures close at hand. ;)

I bet the GF DVC will be beautiful!

52 days and counting! :dance3: I don't know what we are in days, right off the top of my head. I think we're just under 17 weeks.

Yes, ma'am! ::yes:: :laughing:

I'll remember who my real friends are. :snooty:

They're the ones that let me hide behind them in pictures. :teeth:

Yeehaw! Let's go shopping!

IMG_6679.jpg

Shopping will come, but first, we had to visit Jill's much adored friend, Earl.

We were saddened to see that the fun game tree was gone, and it was replaced by a plain tree.

IMG_6680.jpg

Earl did not disappoint.

IMG_6681.jpg

That's the only food picture I have from that meal. Not sure why. Maybe we were all just ravenous and more interested in eating than in picture-taking.

A quick peek in Once Upon a Toy.

At the time, we weren't sure which Disney Princess Bella was going to choose for her birthday, so I was taking pictures of lots of Princess things for reference later, when she made up her mind.

As it turns out, Jill decided for her, because Bella was changing her mind daily. She is having an Ariel-girl party in Alabama, and we're doing an All-Princess mini party here whenever they are here around her birthday. :thumbsup2

I really didn't take a lot of pictures that night. Again, I do remember still being in somewhat of a fog over the day's news. We just kind of went through the motions that day, really. As you can see, we didn't do anything exciting at all. It seemed a little irreverent to me to be having fun, yet I knew that Joan would not think so. She would say go and have a blast! We just needed time to process it all, I think. We went back to Pop. After we had said our good nights, I closed my door and did my crying. It was what I had really needed to do for several hours. It got me out of the daze I had talked about being in all day and allowed me to move on with things.

I don't know when Jill got to have her good cry, since she had a room full of people with her. I do know I was glad to be alone in my room that night.

Jill has loaded the pictures for December 27th, so we'll see you soon with those! :) Have a Tremendous Tuesday, friends!

Lexi has now added watching the SW parade and the Hyperspace Hoopla to her list.
I wish we had a SW expert with us...oh well, we will have to just muddle through.
Lexi is currently trying to talk my DMom into wearing one of those Yoda backpacks that we saw...:lmao:
I doubt it will happen but I'll share a pic if it does.
Here's a pic of what she has in mind.

I'm so sorry you were so sad that day. :grouphug:

I loved seeing your pics from DTD...brought back memories of my day one.
I so enjoyed all the holiday decorations in the stores and in the windows.
They can make the coolest displays that leave you amazed.
I took so many pics of the poinsettia trees. I am hoping my DMom can recreated one for next year. ;)
A girl can dream can't she.

Still haven't tried Earl of Sandwich yet. It is on my list for May. We had an ADR at WGPCafe that night and it was Awesome!

I'm off this morning to the States to pick up my Disney Store boxes....:yay:

Oh MeMom, my heart goes out to you. Such a happy place to be to receive such sad news. Glad you finally got time to cry.

I, too, miss the game tree at DTD.

I finally tried Earl in November and oh my, it was wonderful!!!! Can't wait to take Tom there in April.

Tell it sister!!!! :rotfl2: I have been doing lot of those things you listed myself lately and even at work I had the maintenance man call me 'handy' I enjoy tinkering with thinks but sometimes I just need a bit more muscle.

Yes, an Earl sandwich is a must do. ::yes::

I love the Christmas displays. This year, I'll be trying to make my own Disney displays at home, but maybe we can go back for either Thanksgiving or Christmas again next year. I want to at least go every 2-3 years during a time when the holiday happenings are going on.

Good luck on your Star Wars pursuits. I can't see the backpack at school, but I'll look tonight.

I hope the game tree will come back. Maybe they were just sprucing things up this year. It's so unique, and it is perfect for that area, of course.

Glad you liked your Earl sandwich. The Holiday Sandwich is sloppy, but oh, so good!

Hope all goes well !!!!

Sometimes, I can be twisting something with all of my might without it budging, and Trent or Drew can just twist it off as if it is nothing. :sad2:

I took a few pictures of the hallway. I'll put them up sometime this week.

I LOVE your shopping pictures!!!!!! I know that the evening after hearing about Joan must have been hard. You are so right though, she wouldn't have wanted you to not have fun at your happy place.

We are leaving tomorrow night to drive to Savannah and then into WDW on Thursday  I have my big meeting at 2:00 today and then I can focus on getting everything wrapped up and really get excited. I am off tomorrow, and Chloe is going to school so I will have the day to pack and get a mani/pedi. It will be nice to have the day to do the last minute stuff and to get in vacation mode :thumbsup2 Hope everyone has a great week and weekend. If anyone wants a picture of something or for me to look for anything, just let me know.

I have learned to bang the edge on the countertop. It always seems that when I need the help no one is around so I am stuck waiting or figuring it out. :sad2: I am not too patient, so I usually figure it out.

Shopping and dancing in the street?! Sounds like an awesome evening to me!:thumbsup2 Brooklynn seems to be quite the budding photographer. It's cool to see the world from her point of view!
