All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

We were now sitting here in the Beauty and the Beast theater.

We were sitting just to the right (looking toward the stage) of the technical support box, whatever the name for that is.

The show starts.

Some spoiled rotten prince was ugly to a sweet little old lady who just needed a place to come out of the cold.

IMG_6465.jpg

His snottiness got him in a huge heap of trouble. He was turned into a hairy, hateful beast.

Always be nice to homely little old ladies. ::yes::

Meanwhile, in a little town, a quiet village even, with every day like the one before, there lived sweet Bay-uhl. That's how Bella says Belle. ;)

The little town also had a jerk named Gaston.

IMG_6478.jpg

He thought he was some kind of hot stuff, and in spite of a whole town full of girls swooning after him, he had his eye on the one unattainable one.

As the story goes, Belle ends up in this crazy castle full of dancing furniture and dinnerware.

Bella did not want to miss one beat of this show.

IMG_6486.jpg

Beast begins to feel good things in his hairy, hateful heart.

IMG_6488.jpg

Is there any wonder why we continue to go to this show?

IMG_6489.jpg

Gaston, in an attempt to impress the town and get rid of the competition, incites a riotous situation.

IMG_6490.jpg

He brings Beast down in a town vs. living furniture/dinnerware battle.

IMG_6491.jpg

Belle is terribly upset and finally verbalizes her feelings for him. At this point, Hairy Heartless turns into Ponytail Boy Heartthrob.

The show ends with much happiness and dancing.

IMG_6493.jpg

Congratulations, dude!

In the real end, the furniture and dinnerware become human again, but in this show, they live happily ever after from show to show as they began.

We always enjoy this show. It's not too long for the girls, and they love it. I wish there were more shows like this in Disney World.

I love your telling of the story. :lmao:

I enjoy the show too but do not go every trip. I wish those benches were a bit softer and the theater a little more climate controlled.

Luke enjoyed seeing his favorite pals via the DIS today. Captain Hook and Mr. Smee are the thing at our house. The Disney Store has big stuffed Captain Hooks that he got his Nana to buy him a few weeks ago.... it has not left his side! I missed Playhouse Disney last summer... I took Hannah on I guess Tower of Terror. My days for that show are probably numbered too...

Those little girls are so much enjoying that show!Their faces-such concentration and amazement:thumbsup2 Love it!!
I have yet to sit and watch Beauty and the Beast. There are so many good rides at Hollywood studios that we never seem to get around to the extras like this(apart from we have seen Indy several times!)
Hopefully i will have more time to Dis this week. We are now on half term holidays for a week!!:woohoo:. I hope your week at school is much kinder to you.

Thanks for the Beauty and Beast pictures, and your storytelling both were enjoyable. The pictures have put me in the planning mood. If a good code comes out we may go back to Disney in Sept. I am hoping for free dinning. Then we will go back with DH family next Jan. I love the idea of planning two Disney trips.:goodvibes

Catching up after one of those weeks!

Our group of 15 saw Beauty and the Beast too and the kids were all absorbed in the show just like Brook and Bella. It is just a perfect slice of the movie and done so well!

Megan and Keeley loved it when they were young and watched it over and over.

Our kids saw Playhouse Disney as well, but I chose to sit outside in the sun. I'm not a floor sitter either.

We have parent/teacher conferences next week, then a four day weekend. I wish that we were heading somewhere warm. It's freezing here!!!

Love Love Love your telling of Beauty and the Beast!! The girls expressions say everything Disney is about!! Thanks for giving me such a huge smile this morning:goodvibes

Well, you know I loved this update. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorites! I love that they still have this show at DHS (aka MGM). And I loved the looks on Brookie and Bella's faces. :goodvibes

Is it just me or did that Belle look like Rachel Ray?!

Ponytail boy heartthrob. :lmao: Very descriptive.

It is a great show for you, you can tell but the pictures that the girls just love it. You're right, it's just the right length of time and fast paced enough to keep kiddos interested.

We LOVE B&tB too! I really enjoyed your play-by-play of the show! ;) We watch it on every trip as well. I even get a little teary watching it. I just love the music and costumes. It's such a great story. And I agree, I'd love to see more shows like that at Disney. The shows are some of our very favorite things about WDW. :thumbsup2

We love that show too!
And I especially enjoyed your retelling of the story - have you been taking tips from Brooklyn and Bella? because it reminded me very much of the stories I hear my little ones 'read' from their books :goodvibes

We have not been to Beauty & The Beast in a long time! It is cute to see how much the girls were enjoying the show. Now that the boys are older we are usually busy riding those 2 rides across from the theater.:)

I love B&B enjoying B&B! I was sad when my little book-aholic said she was "too old" for B&B last trip. But she agreed to go "for Daddy's sake" bcz he hadn't seen it with us the time before. And who was riveted the whole time? Yup -- all of us! Then when we saw a 3D version of the movie :3dglasses was coming out, she couldn't wait to see it. It would have been just perfect if we'd had Mickey Bars to go with our popcorn.

Loved seeing your pics of Beauty and the Beast. It's one of my favorites, and we never miss it. I love the fact that some of the same faces I saw in your pictures are the same ones I've seen over the past ten years. :)

I loved your Beauty and the Beast pictures and storytelling! I haven't seen that show yet, but it is on the list. I love the movie :goodvibes

Anita, I didn't realize Keeley is pregnant, how exciting! She's due the day before I am. Congrats to you all! And if she chooses the name of that student who drove you crazy, hopefully it won't take too long for all those bad memories to be replaced by good ones. ;)

Your rendition of B&B was fabulous!:lmao:

I love the looks on the girls faces. I remember Danielle looking like that the first time she saw it when she was 3. We still go back every trip, both girls still love it even though they are 12 & 21.

Okay, just catching up getting through your DHS day almost as efficiently as you apparently did! WOW you guys saw a lot at that park! Well done! Nolyn likes Jake and the Neverland Pirates, and he's 6! BUT he just loves captain hook and smee! We have not been to that show in FOREVER! I remember our first trip with Griffin and there was Jo Jo!!! Crazy! We love the Great Movie Ride, too... I never get tired of it, though some parts are "tired" if you know what I mean!!! We have never seen Beauty and the Beast stage show, or Little Mermaid. I want to see the Little Mermaid, I don't think they will go for Beauty ... ;) can't wait to see what you have in store next!!!
