All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

I love that picture of Brooklynn, she really looks like she is now at the top of the totem pole in terms of Disney park guests! I guess that first bag check moment is a pretty exciting one, too bad it's just another line after that!

Love your castle lighting photos, Cindy really did pick a beautiful design! ;)

Brooklynn's face and body language tell the story. She thought she was a pretty big deal with her camera, and then to be big enough to be bag checked - her reaction was pretty cute.

I wonder how many years they will keep the castle lights like that before they change to something else. I have heard rumors that they may move to a more high-tech decoration kin to what they do with Magic, Memories, and You.

I'm glad you were able to find your license....I can imagine the panic. Jill to the rescue. :thumbsup2

Ahhh....love the arrival pics.
I can put myself right back at POP in the lobby seeing the tree for the first time.
With the holiday music in the background, it was awesome.

I don't blame Bella for wanting to get into Everything POP cause that was my first stop too. First purchases were 2012 tees and ears for NYE.

Our next stop was food, so we passed by those gingerbread houses. I enjoyed them all too. Lexi liked the Jack marshmallow.

First meal was Chicken Penne....yummy perfection!

We were lucky enough to have Gem check us in too! Our room was ready and in a perfect spot. Ground floor, building 4 Play Doh, third room down on the first wing. We couldn't have asked for better.
Very short walk to the hall, bus and right around the corner from the pool. :woohoo:
And yes Lexi did swim...it was lovely the first few days and even when it was freezing and the life guards were in full track suits complete with hats...she swam too. :lmao:
Bus driver made jokes that he could tell who the Canadians were by how we dressed. :)
In all the times we have been to POP we have never gotten a room in the 50's. You are very lucky.

We had lounge chairs while we waited on NYE...wish I knew you could move them up by the room. Oh well, we made someone happy when we gave them up.
I had no idea Poolrat & Wig'd were right behind us that whole time on the beach.

I have to say that I have never seen anything more stunning than the castle all lit up and twinkling. Amazing!
Lexi was in awe of how you barely see them during the day but at night...WOW!
I was teary seeing it for the first time.
Later, when I saw "Memories and You" I actually got all misty. Loved it!

Have a great day all! We are on day two of freezing rain & snow. Doesn't make for an easy drive to work.

Brooklynn is growing up so fast...cute pic at bag check. :goodvibes

I meant to put on my free NYE hat, but I forgot about it. I had a blower, too, but when those fireworks started, I thought of nothing else. Maybe we can do NYE again in about 2-3 years. :thumbsup2

We were very happy to see Pop again! The lobby always smells like chocolate chip cookies to me. :goodvibes

I found it interesting that Gem didn't know that there were tables and chairs out by the Bowling Pin Pool. I guess she had not taken a tour of the entire resort. We were conversing about the nice room we had had poolside one year and just being able to walk right out the door and sit at 'our' table. She commented, "Oh, they have tables out by that pool, too?"

It's sunny and cool here. So far, we have had a decent January. I hope February is as nice. :thumbsup2

The bag check picture is priceless! Looks like she feels she has made it to the big kids table. :goodvibes

She is getting to be such a sweet big girl. I had a blast with her in October, and I am looking forward to having a few days with her all to myself at the end of the summer trip.

I always catch the updates, sometimes going back a few pages. I will admit to becoming more of a drive by diser... not always good at commenting. I think this cold weather makes me long for summer and vacation pretty bad.

I can't believe how big the girls are. I know it happens, I see it everyday in my own house, but it is still hard to believe. I love all the adventures my kids have now that they are big, but boy do I miss the simple days of being at home and not running around from practice, dance etc.

I am ready for summer, too. A few weeks of winter is enough to remind me how I love warmer weather, and it hasn't even been really bad here yet.

I saw Hannah's basketball picture a week or so ago. You're just getting into all of the many activities that will keep you busy for a whole lot of years!

Believe me, it's not easy. Ray is my voice of reason. He doesn't mind me going but he just reminds me that we need to do things around the house and we also have a college fund to be contributing to. Plus I want to get our credit cards paid off. And with our bills and our income, it's all we can do to get those things done. So Disney every single year just isn't in our financial picture right now. But we have both agreed to try our best to go as often as we can when Seth starts asking us specifically for it. Our next trip is planned for May 2013, when he will be 2.5. Then we're thinking we'll go back in December 2015 when he's 5. But that's way off so we'll just have to see about that. Who knows....my mom may get bitten by the Disney bug during our May 2013 trip and want to go back sooner. And honestly I think doing the Disney travel agent thing helps with not going as often....I can live vicariously through so many people!

Jill is more reasonable than I am. I have no reason when it comes to WDW trips. I just go until I run out of money, and then I start saving to do it all over again. Maybe if I did the travel agent thing I would get my fill of talking Disney and it would be a lot cheaper for me in the long run. :)

I love those castle lights! It's worth going at Christmas just for those.

I can't believe they inspected Brooklyn's camera like that. They have never done anything but shuffle through our bags. We always joke about how you could smuggle a person into the park in your bag no better than they look in it. That's cute though that she felt important. ;)

We had one guy this time who took sooooo long to check bags. He wanted everything in there taken out. Usually it's just a glance and a pat, but I guess we were looking particularly menacing that day.

I love the picture of Brooklyn getting her camera inspected. :lovestruc She is growing up way too fast!!

Love your castle pictures. They came out great. Christmas at Disney is like no other.

Christmas is a special time in WDW. Fall is beautiful, too, with all of hte orange and gold on Main Street, but at Christmas, all of the parks and resorts get involved.

I do that too!!! My mom's car has the lock button on her key so she just uses that so she can't lock her keys in the car. I wish mine had that. I'm always so afraid of locking my keys in my car.

I love that picture of Brooklynn at bag check  I bet she felt so grown up. I admit, when I went to the airport last year I felt pretty cool because I actually had a license to show when I went through security :rotfl:

Those Christmas decorations are so beautiful!!!

I would be happy to have that number lock on my car. :thumbsup2

I have hundreds of Christmas pictures yet to come. I hope you enjoy them all! :santa:

Ah, that Big Girl Brooklyn!! She's too cute!

I LOVE the castle lights!!! I had it on my desktop on my old PC for so long - not even just during Christmas season. It's just too pretty!

Boy, Main Street looked pretty darn busy!! I'm anxious to hear how it was and what you did on Christmas.

Brooklynn getting her bag inspected is SO cute! She looks very happy to be in that line. :cutie:

We didn't get to see the actual castle lighting show, because I think they might have stopped that by the time we got there. The lights were on, though, and that was all I cared about. I am thrilled that I finally got to see them in person!

I really do love it. The initial startup fee with my agency was no fun (like $300 I think, but that was in 2009) but I just used some of my tax refund that year to pay for it. And I love that my clients don't have to pay me a nickel - Disney pays my commission so it costs them exactly the same to book through me as it does through Disney. And I like that I don't have to advertise - almost all of my business comes through client referrals and word of mouth, so I don't have to "bug" people about booking vacations. I have a Facebook page and that's pretty much it. And the big bonus is you get paid for it! It's not much, but it can contribute to a Disney fund or whatever else you want to use it for. :)

I love how proud and happy Brooklynn is to have her camera inspected! She is so adorable! MK looks beautiful for Christmas....I love the castle lighting show! I got goosebumps just looking at your pictures!:thumbsup2

Yay for being at Pop!! I didn't realize the pool is open 24 hours/day. Is that year round?

Look at big stuff Brooklynn! :thumbsup2

Was the park really, really crowded? I think Cindy sure has a pretty castle. Do you think she would let us live there with her? :goodvibes

YAY for your first picture of Magic Kingdom at Christmas!!! I can't imagine anything more delightful to begin a trip than seeing the Christmas Lights come on Cinderella's castle! Someday I will make it there!!!! For now I will happily live through your pictures!!!

Like everyone else- I love the picture of Brooklyn! Our girls are carrying their own bags on many days...I am trying to be able to go bagless!

What a great start on Christmas day! I can only imagine the excitement all over again. I agree, the first couple of steps in MK are wonderful!!!

Brooklynn looks so cute and proud getting her camera inspected. LOVE IT!!!!

I also have no reason when it comes to Disney trips. Spend it and start saving to do it again is the name of the game. :upsidedow. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Unless of course I were just independently wealthy and could visit any old time.

We made a big deal about Brooklynn's first bag check, and she felt like a grown girl. She really is maturing so much. I look at the pictures of both the girls and miss them so much. I get to see them pretty often, but every time I put pictures on the report, I want to go back to how it is on trips - seeing them daily. :lovestruc

She is so proud of having to get her bag checked. A right of passage for sure. :thumbsup2

Subbing in so I don't lose the link. I have to say that I'm jealous of little Brooklyn and all of her visits! :thumbsup2 She is one lucky girl!!

Brooklyn certainly looks like she thinks she is big stuff having her bag inspected. :rotfl: I wish standing in that line was still a thrill for me.

Love the pictures of the castle lighting. I would hazard to guess that if I ever see it in person, I will be a big teary mess. :goodvibes

I'm late but I finally made it over!
I remember reading about John getting in trouble on Facebook! Good thing Jill is quick! My youngest was the same way! He could get away from ya in the blink of an eye!
I love the castle at Christmas time! Last time I was there to see it was in 2007! Can't wait to see it again!
Looking forward to more!

I also love the pic of Brooklynn at bag check. So cute!! I on the other hand try to stuff my pockets full so I do not have to go through that.

I would love to see that castle lit up like that. Hopefully someday.

I'm a little late but I've found you all! :)

I love the shot of MeMom in the car with all the bags/strollers on top! I've been there-done that!

Brooklyn looks soo cute waiting for her bag to be checked!

My DS has been asking about every week to go back to Disney. He always gets this really sad face and asks if we can go back. It breaks my heart cause that's how I feel too! :rotfl: I tell him we have to save our money (and it's not like we didn't just go in September!) and then we'll go.

Just popping in to say 'hi' and glad to say I'll be following along again.
I've been away from the Dis for such a long time - almost since our own trip last August - I've missed so much of your previous TR but hoping to find a bit more time again and keep up with this one. I love reading your TRs!

Boy, Main Street looked pretty darn busy!! I'm anxious to hear how it was and what you did on Christmas.

Magic Kingdom was most certainly busy that night. We did not stay long. We just wanted to be there for a short time, and we had plans to meet Wigd and crew before their Crystal Palace meal, as well.

The lit up castle is nice to look at for more than just the Christmas season. :thumbsup2

Brooklynn getting her bag inspected is SO cute! She looks very happy to be in that line. :cutie:

You can youtube it. It's cute. Very short, too, so standing in the crowd is not a big deal for that length of time.

I just don't know when I would make calls for people. I'm tied up all day, so I don't know if I could only do that at night or not. It's on the back burner for now, although it does seem like a lot of DISers are doing it. Extra Disney money does sound very tempting!

I love how proud and happy Brooklynn is to have her camera inspected! She is so adorable! MK looks beautiful for Christmas....I love the castle lighting show! I got goosebumps just looking at your pictures!:thumbsup2

Soon Brooklynn will be wanting her own Bagallini. ;)

Yay for being at Pop!! I didn't realize the pool is open 24 hours/day. Is that year round?

Look at big stuff Brooklynn! :thumbsup2

I think you can swim any time, as long as there is no sign out and you are quiet, but the lifeguard hours are limited. We've seen people swimming as late (early) as 2 in the morning. I've seen people swimming at 6 a.m., too. For me to swim, I need there to be no one around, so I guess from maybe 3-5 a.m. would be my time, right? :goodvibes

YAY for your first picture of Magic Kingdom at Christmas!!! I can't imagine anything more delightful to begin a trip than seeing the Christmas Lights come on Cinderella's castle! Someday I will make it there!!!! For now I will happily live through your pictures!!!

We are happy to share the pictures, but you need to see it all for yourself, as well. Have you never been during the Christmas to New Year's week?

Oh I miss that beautiful castle! :lovestruc

Shore was purty, wasn't it? :goofy:

Like everyone else- I love the picture of Brooklyn! Our girls are carrying their own bags on many days...I am trying to be able to go bagless!

What a great start on Christmas day! I can only imagine the excitement all over again. I agree, the first couple of steps in MK are wonderful!!!

I have too much junk to carry, so I have to have a bag. I really have come to just like a backback, which frees up both hands. I have my 'seeing' glasses for if I want to see a faraway show in detail, my sunglasses, if I am not wearing them, ponchos, wet wipes, moleskin, bandaids, ziplock bags, snacks, and sometimes an extra pair of shoes.

Making the first walk down Main Street and just basking in the glory that we are there again is such a good feeling!
