All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

I saw the British Invasion with my mom on our January trip, and we LOVED them! We unfortunately didn't see them again, but I can't wait to remedy that.

That picture of Brooklynn singing the welcome song is so cute!

I love that she enjoys pin trading now. I haven't gotten into that because I fear I'll get obsessive with finding pins, but maybe I'll try on the next trip, anyway.

I treasure your friendship as well!
Even when I don't come by here on the DIS all of you are on my mind.
You come up in my daily conversations often and I especially love it when my friends are in the "world". I'm happy knowing that you are there enjoying the parks and imagining what you are doing each day.
A great Disney day for you means everything to me.
I will always hold you very dear to me.

Great pics! Fun way to spend my Saturday night.
I love how Brooklynn enjoys even the little things like Disney songs and coloring.
I'm glad to see you sampled some of the Food & Wine choices.
I wasn't very adventurous and skipped most of it.
The boys look cute with their faces painted. (don't think I will ever have to worry about Lexi choosing the snake design. :rotfl:)
Ahhh...it was nice to see my favorite places in your pics!

I had to make some trip changes while you were away. Some good some not so good.
Let's get the bad out of the way first.
I made the very very hard decision to shorten our August trip to just 1 week. :faint:..... okay I'm back again. Temp loss of feeling over here. Fine now.
I just can't be away for so long from the store that I just took over. That was a tough one but I have made peace with it.
I'm sure I will be a little more sad to leave when the time comes cause I could have been staying for another week.
You said it best when you said, "you never have enough time, no matter how long the trip is".
I looked at adding in a long weekend trip in October but for now the flights prices are ridiculous.

So that brings us to January 2013.
I made my ADR's and got everything! :dance3:
Still not sure where I will be on NYE. Can't decide between Epcot or MK.
There was a lot of discussion about Disney not letting folks watch the 4th fireworks on the Poly beach this year. Something about handing out bracelets for Poly guests only.
So if that's the case on NYE, I need a plan B.
I cancelled the Disney cruise for now. I wanted more park time in January.
I tell you this cruise has been cancelled so many times, I'm beginning to think it's a sign. :sad2:

But the great news is that I booked a trip to Disneyland in April for Lexi's birthday. Got the okay today from my boss. :woohoo:
We are beyond excited to see all the new and different stuff they have there.
Our favorites to see are World of Color, Cars land, Sleeping Beauty's castle, Aladdin show, Nemo submarine, Little Mermaid ride, Monsters Inc ride, Alice in Wonderland ride, Mr Toad's Wild ride, Pinocchio's Journey, Small World w/characters, Matterhorn Bobsleds, parades and there's so much more.
I guess that makes up for the bad news. :)

I imagine you are sleeping by now after a full day.
Take Care,

Welcome home!!!!! Can't wait to hear all about your trip!!! :goodvibes

I always enjoy touring the World Showcase through your pictures! You have a way of making me feel like I'm truly there!

Brooklynn was singing along to the opening song.

DisneyOctober2011981.jpg

I love that picture of her!

That is a fantastic picture of her. Food and Wine is one of my most favorite times.

I too had a Piping hot Fishermans pie but sadly will probably not try it again due to the veggies I found inside.

Welcome home and totally enjoying the pictures from your October trip. Looks like you guys had so much fun.

Hello!! I am glad you made it safely back and had a good time. Can't wait to hear about your trip.

Welcome home! I'm glad everyone had a great time in Disney. Just think next trip you'll have one more.

That was a speedy trip around the world in Epcot. Glad Brooklynn got to stop for coloring.

I really enjoyed the picture of the kids playing at Pop together and of Brooklynn singing the opening song. We listened to the 4 parks CD yesterday while we were making birthday invites.

I can see why you love that photo of Brooklynn! It really seems to capture her so well. Such a pretty girl!

Welcome home!:goodvibes

I'm glad you guys had a great trip and are home safe and sound! I can't wait to hear all about it!

I love that picture of Brooklyn singing along to the welcome song! She is so stinkin' cute! And who doesn't love the rope drop show!?

I feel for you guys getting stuck on Splash Mountain. I know how that feels all too well!

I don't know that there is a better way to start a day than at a Magic Kingdom opening show. :goodvibes

Welcome home! Hope you are adjusting to being home. Enjoyed the fb pictures and can't wait to hear all about your trip!

Back to real life. Looks like I didn't forget how to do housework, so that's good. :thumbsup2

I wanted to see the Bee Gees tribute band on this trip, but I never got over there.

You will probably get sucked into the pin thing. We don't do much trading, but the girls enjoy it when we do. We mostly buy pins to keep that represent certain events, like conquering a new ride or eating at a new restaurant, etc.

The pictures were wonderful. I am ready for my Sept. trip now.

I know you are! :cool1:

Take Care,

Disneyland will be cool. :thumbsup2 It will be so cool to experience all of those rides!

I would be happy with week long trips, if I could go four times a year. ;) I think once a season is the perfect plan. ::yes::

We, too, enjoy knowing our DIS friends are down there having such a good time. I really appreciate having the avenue of Facebook to be able to see it as it unfolds.

Welcome home :)

Thank you. :flower3:

Welcome home!!!!! Can't wait to hear all about your trip!!!

I always enjoy touring the World Showcase through your pictures! You have a way of making me feel like I'm truly there!

That is my goal, so I am glad it works. Sometimes I imagine people are staring at me wondering why I would take a picture of such a silly item or view, but it's what I am seeing, so I figure it is what you guys should see, as well.

That is a fantastic picture of her. Food and Wine is one of my most favorite times.

I too had a Piping hot Fishermans pie but sadly will probably not try it again due to the veggies I found inside.

I usually only try something new once. Next time, I wil try 2-3 new things.

Welcome home and totally enjoying the pictures from your October trip. Looks like you guys had so much fun.

I will finish the October pictures within the next couple of days, and then Jill can start the new report. We did have fun on this trip. Brooklynn had a blast riding Barnstormer about a dozen times.

Hello!! I am glad you made it safely back and had a good time. Can't wait to hear about your trip.

Safely and without a glitch both ways. It was all smooth, except when Brooklynn and I stayed and the others left, there were some tears.

Welcome home! I'm glad everyone had a great time in Disney. Just think next trip you'll have one more.

I really enjoyed the picture of the kids playing at Pop together and of Brooklynn singing the opening song. We listened to the 4 parks CD yesterday while we were making birthday invites.

I listen to Disney music daily. ::yes::

Brooklynn enjoys the Kidcot stops, and I am usually happy to oblige here some coloring time. She also likes playgrounds, and swimming. It's nice to enjoy things that are not right in the midst of the crowds and chaos sometimes.

I can see why you love that photo of Brooklynn! It really seems to capture her so well. Such a pretty girl!

I do love it. I love seeing her so happy. :lovestruc

Welcome home!!

That picture of Brooklyn is precious!! So adorable!!

Thanks. Wish you could have been there.

Brooklynn is the perfect age to enjoy being on a trip with her Memom. I do hope that one day you are able to take Bella alone, Sophie too. I'll bet it will be such a special memory to them.

Glad you made it home alright! Loved all the texts and updates!!

I really like that picture of Brookie at the opening show too! :cutie:

Your treats look yummy! A treat in Disney is always better I think. :goodvibes Do you remember what your weather was like in October? We are all set to go so just trying to plan for weather and things. It looks really nice! :thumbsup2 Does it get very hot?

Hi MeMom,
I've just finished reading your wonderful, informative and entertaining report. We also went to the wuhld a few days before Christmas 2011 and just enjoyed doing all the Christmasy things - like CP, MVMCCP, and visiting the resorts to see the decorations. Your report, definitely makes me want to go back at that time of year! I liked your idea of visiting at that time every other year, I might just have to suggest that to my DH. :thumbsup2

We also stayed at Pop for the first time (for one night) over Memorial Day weekend before checking into POR. I was really impressed with the resort during our short stay and getting to see your pictures of Pop makes me want to go back! We are staying at AOA in a Little Mermaid room for our upcoming fall trip (Sept 27-Oct 7) and I'm looking forward to visiting Pop again then. Thank you so much for posting the AOA pics on that thread and for sharing your Pop enthusiasm!

Congratulations to your family on the pending arrival of Sophie. I was so happy for you when I read that Jill is expecting another girl! :cutie::cutie::cutie:

Also, after reading your report, I wish my DD could have you for a teacher. She would LOVE how you have a Disney themed classroom - you are so creative!

I look forward to reading your new TR!
Beth

We have already discussed Bella going with me alone. Brooklynn said it would be better if she and I both took Bella. Maybe Bella and I can go down a few days early if we get a spring break 2014 trip, or if not, then on the summer 2014 trip. Staying on at the end was not good at departure time, although we all got over it shortly. I'd rather just not have it at all, and do it on the front end with the fun anticipation of the others joining us. :)

Glad you enjoyed them. After Jill left, I sent her a few to put on FB, but I forgot you aren't on FB. We need to get your sister to friend Jill next time, and then you can see everything as it unfolds. We had a good time at your OKW home. Brooklynn made a button, and we ate a pretzel out on one of the picnic tables in front of Goods to Go.

We have had evry nice weather in October - cool enough not to be sweaty and icky, but warm enough to swim. One time it was pretty hot, I remember, but other than that one time, I recall October trips being very nice. :thumbsup2

Thanks for reading along! We love having a full house. :goodvibes

We arrive on October 5th, so we will make arrangements to cross paths for a DIS hello either at Pop or AoA, if you would like.

Sophie's arrival will be welcomes with much joy, as was with Brooklynn and Bella. They are all such wonderful blessings to our lives. :lovestruc

I don't really enjoy facing another school year, but it is made easier by decorating a classroom with Disney things. ;)

I think every other Christmas (or Thanksgiving, because you can see Christmas things) would be nice. I hope that works out for us. We can have much more time at Christmas, so hopefully that will work for everyone else. One year, I got a full week off for Thanksgiving, so that gave us plenty of trip time. Now they only give us three days, so I'd rather go during Christmas to NY, even though it is more crowded.

Just wanted to let you know I am still reading along. I don't have much time to comment but I am here. Are you planning any trips for 2013?

Oh I wish I could have been there as well!! As it turned out, work has been crazy & so it was probably for the best that I was home. I might not have been able to relax knowing about work.

But I'll see you in October - yay!!!

Are you going to start a brand new report for you just completed trip or continue on here with it? Inquiring minds want to know. :confused3 I just don't want to miss a thing. :)
