All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

I called the body shop about my car and they said it should be ready by the 21st. So I booked POP CENTURY for the 21st-24th. Since we have Universal AP's, we will be going there on Friday and Saturday, but will be back to swim during the afternoon. I will keep an eye out for your crew and will be sure to stop and say hey if we see you.

Happy Birthday to you and Jace!

I am not very adventurous in my eating habits, but the older I get, the more willing I am to try at least a bite of some new things. I will have to go look up Neeps & Tatties!

Thank you!

Sorry - Neeps & Tatties = Turnip or Swede & Potatoes :)

I found your trip reports by looking at photos on the resort and park shopping threads. I have read every single one of them and find them very informative and 'down to earth'. The details you give and that of other Disers on here is fantastic. I love the shopping pictures and it has been great to see your gorgeous girls grow up. If my DDs are around, they enjoy reading along with me also.

:flower3: :worship:

You are right - we feel like we know so many people from so many places. I will find myself saying, "I have a friend in NYC," like I have known Brook personally for years. Or when Michelle and Jeffrey were in Arizona, Mary said if they needed anything to let her know, and I felt good knowing that they had someone close in case of an emergency. We know a bunch of GA DISers, so if we are driving through there, we know we have people who could come to our rescue if we happened to need help. We even know people in other countries that we never would have known without this forum.

I do the same thing! I always mention people that I "know" who live in Georgia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania...and remember I have never actually met them. I love it, though!

I love that Brooklynn told you she needed something with a long neck! That is SO cute! I absolutely love kids. At my preschool job today, one of the kids told me I should really have a raincoat (it was pretty gross weather today.) I said I had an umbrella and my hood, but he informed me again that I should really have a raincoat, and I should ask my mommy for one. :rotfl:

I so want to be in Disney for the fall sometime; I'd love to do MNSSHP. The headless horseman is actually something I've YouTubed often...I LOVE horses and riding, and I think being the headless horseman would be the coolest thing ever!

I am glad we are getting to see some Oct pics! Makes me excited for my Oct trip! Somehow I thought Brianna was older... I love ur trip reports and in no way do they come off as "promotional" except to go to Disney-you need a commision LOL

Oh my goodness, I looked everywhere for that animal print Mickey mug! Do you happen to remember what store it was from?? (It's okay if you don't remember, though.) :goodvibes

Hahaha, the long neck comment made me laugh. How clever!

I LOL at Brooklynn's "needing something with a long neck." Here I thought I had heard all about every possible wanting a stuffed friend, but that is a new one! Glad she was able to get her new friend! ;)

She is very creative in expressing her 'needs'.

Something with a long neck eh? Well I'm sure glad you scrounged something up for her! ;)

Love the look of the Halloween party! I sooooo want to go on our October trip. I wish the ticket cost wasn't so high though.

Great update MeMom! Our community is putting on Peter Pan the Musical, opening this week. Morghan is playing Curly, who is a Lost Boy. He's kinda naughty. Even shoots Wendy! ::yes::

It's just you and one daughter this time, or two daughters?

I wish we could see the play. :)

It was great seeing the Dis meet and the ones that dressed up. DH and I are going to the party this year. I am so excited. We will not be dressing up but plan to have fun.:)

Once again the pictures from AK were wonderful and fun to see.

I am not one to dress up, either, but it was fun to watch the people coming in who were dressed up.

Do you have Jill's and my cell phone numbers? You can text at some point when you are at the resort, and we'll hook up for a minute. ::yes::

Thank you!

I looked up Neeps and Tatties. I figured the Tatties part was potatoes before I even looked. Turnips - I'm not much on turnips. :crazy2:

Informative and fun - if we cover those two things, I think we're okay. :thumbsup2

I love to listen to kids' conversations. They make me laugh very often.

Yeah, you need to plan an October trip sometime. Magic Kingdom looks so neat, especially on party nights. When the cast members start coming out with their signs, I promise you, there is a special excitement that begins to build.

Brianna is a little younger than Brooklynn, but Brooklynn is tall and Brianna is short, so there appears to be a bigger age difference. Brianna is very bright, though, and she talks like a grown-up much of the time.

Maybe we can talk to the Disney people about that commission! :goodvibes

After leaving Magic Kingdom, we went to the Polynesian.

DisneyOctober2011452.jpg

We watched the EWP from the beach.

DisneyOctober2011461.jpg

DisneyOctober2011462.jpg

DisneyOctober2011463.jpg

There was a movie playing on the beach.

DisneyOctober2011465.jpg

If we ever stay here, a night swim will be a must.

DisneyOctober2011466.jpg

After that, we met our cousins back at Pop.

Does Carson think Parker's half is bigger than his half?

DisneyOctober2011468.jpg

DisneyOctober2011469.jpg

Parker was dying for us to come and see the pirates pictures they took and tell us about the adventure they had getting made up as pirates, so we went to their room.

Aren't they cute?

DisneyOctober2011470.jpg

DisneyOctober2011471.jpg

There was a little bit of bed-jumping as they demonstrated all of their pirate moves.

DisneyOctober2011473.jpg

After a short visit, it was time for everyone to call it a night.

Short necks and long necks, as well.

Those pirate pictures came out awesome! And that picture of Brooklynn and her long neck friend sleeping is adorable. :goodvibes

Pretty sure it was at Mombasa right by the entrance to the safari.

Love this picture!!!!

You got some GREAT pics of the lions!! And Lily hamming it up-so cute!! I was sad we did not see her in April.

It must have been tough leaving the MK on a party night!!

That was the most fun we have seen Lilly having. Usually, she's just roaming around or eating, but that day, she was pretending she was in gymnastics class. :goodvibes

There is a certain excitement that goes with all of the party stuff starting up, for sure!

Sweetest "short & long neck" picture ever.

They had had a big day. ;)

The boys were so proud of their pirate looks. They were given pirate names and documents with the names on them.

We didn't have any trouble getting girls nor animal friends to bed on those Disney nights. They were very ready for sleep. ::yes::

Great lion pictures!! All I ever get is a glimpse of something that could potentially be a lion!

I love Brooklynn's needing a friend with a long neck! She's too funny!

I completely and totally forgot about the EWP while staying at the Poly! I really had wanted to see it too! :headache:

I am coming along! I have to tell you that seeing our photo from Halloween made me laugh and laugh!!! :rotfl:

And hearing about the missing pottery caper also had me in stitches because I remember how "fit to be tied" you were over that!!! Who WOULDN'T be!!??!! I am looking forward to going to the AK. We have not been to see Nemo and FOTLK in SOOOO long!!! I have only seen Nemo once. I can't wait to go!

Oh and I loved Brooklynn's comment about NEEDING someone with a long neck... LOL!!!

You are heading out in just a few days! We have officially two weeks today. fourteen days from now! Though my Ticker says less!!! :rolleyes1 I kind of feel compelled to change it, I know it will move along fast! We'll be getting up right now on the train, getting closer to the stop! We get there usually around 7:30 am, so I have the timing right this morning at least!!!

Love the two pirates. We have that planned. The question I have, or, the question I am thinking about, is if the boys would want to do the pirate makeup, OR, go to the Car shop in DTD. The build a car store, I forget the name, I think it is still there... I can't see buying those if I am doing the pirate makeup... We'll see...

While I know there was a lot of nail-biting, I was so tickled to receive that box of goodies when it did arrive! I love each and every piece!!! :goodvibes

Love that Brooklyn needed something with a long neck! :lmao: I would have to agree on that! Precious picture of the two of them fast asleep!

The view from your basket! :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Loved Brooklynn's creative answer about needing a friend with a long neck! She's one smart girl and I bet she'll go far with all that quick thinking!

Our trip will just be me and my oldest daughter Morghan. This is a special 13th birthday gift. :goodvibes

What a great end to the night. The pirate pictures are great! I love that Brookie is sleeping with her long necked friend. :cloud9:

Well, you will just have to go back soon and get a re-do on seeing the EWP. :)

I asked Brooklynn what animal she would be getting this summer, and she said she was just going to have to do some looking around.

Aw, come one, Mom....just get them the pirates and the cars! :woohoo:
And tell them 'MeMom said so', so they will like me when they meet me.

I wasn't mad at any Disney people about the missing pottery, but I was worried about it. The only person I ever get mad at is myself for doing stupid things - like forgetting to have the address with me right there on the spot, which is what started the whole mix-up. :sad2:

The good thing was, I had the receipt, so I knew that if 'worse came to worse', I could get you a gift card to go pick out your own items, but I really wanted you to be able to open a package of goodies more than a gift card. ::yes::

Maybe that will be my 'spin' for this trip - the view from my insert random object here.

Day 3 started with Mickey waffles.

DisneyOctober2011481.jpg

Brooklynn had her picture made on the wall,

DisneyOctober2011486.jpg

as did Brianna.

DisneyOctober2011487.jpg

Good morning, Magic Kingdom!

DisneyOctober2011491.jpg

Our ride on Dumbo -

DisneyOctober2011493.jpg

(now you can't say I don't put up pictures of myself)

and a peek at the progress of Fantasyland.

DisneyOctober2011496.jpg

DisneyOctober2011497.jpg

Kay and Brianna on their first Dumbo ride together.

DisneyOctober2011500.jpg

Then we hit Peter Pan

DisneyOctober2011501.jpg

and Small World.

DisneyOctober2011504.jpg

Brianna really liked Small World.

DisneyOctober2011506.jpg

I took a zillion pictures of Small World, as usual, but since this is the speedy report, I will only put up a couple.

DisneyOctober2011520.jpg

DisneyOctober2011531.jpg

I went with an animal theme. ;)

Then we spun around in the Teacups

DisneyOctober2011554.jpg

and sped around a race track.

DisneyOctober2011561.jpg

DisneyOctober2011562.jpg

DisneyOctober2011563.jpg

We went over to Winnie the Pooh,

DisneyOctober2011588.jpg

Maybe I already knew the fountain would do its magic. ;)

DisneyOctober2011603.jpg

Cold liquid refreshment for a warm day - half frozen lemonade, half raspberry lemonade.

DisneyOctober2011607.jpg

Lunch.

DisneyOctober2011609.jpg

DisneyOctober2011610.jpg

Documentation of place, time, and cost of the meal.

DisneyOctober2011611.jpg

After lunch, some of us saw a parade.

DisneyOctober2011621.jpg

Some of us didn't.

DisneyOctober2011619.jpg

DisneyOctober2011627.jpg

DisneyOctober2011628.jpg

More later. Gotta go make four pans of brownies!

Four pans of brownies? I'll be right there! ;)

I know you don't like pictures of yourself (my mom is the same exact way), but that's such a good picture of you and Brooklynn on Dumbo!
