Ok, let me start off this report by saying that this was the BEST VACATION EVER!!!! From the time we landed in Orlando until we got back onto the plane to come home, we had a DREAM vacation.....there are no words to describe it, you had to be there.....We arrived in Orlando on Oct 6th around midnight and headed to POP Century, we went to Disney World Friday Oct 7th and went to Universal Studios (where it rained the entire day) on Sat Oct 8th, but honestly, it was probably the best day I have ever had in a theme park, there was nobody there, it was AWESOME!!!!! Ok, before I start let me introduce you to our cast of characters that came along on this trip.....
Me (Kristy)
Hubby (Jay)
Son (Carson)
My Mom (Del)
My Dad (Mark)
My Best Friend (Kim)
Kim's Hubby (Chris)
Kim's son (Matthew)
Kim's mom (Dixie)
Kim's dad (Gene)
Day 1 Oct. 9th, 2011
I had no problems at all getting up and getting going, I don't think I have ever been that excited about going somewhere in my entire life, after a year of planning this trip and knowing I was about to see this ship in person, i was just ecstatic....When we headed down to the lobby at POP Century, this is what it looked like outside of our room.....
We had some breakfast but I was seriously so excited I barely ate anything, I had frosted flakes, Carson had some pancakes and my hubby had a breakfast platter, here are some pics...
Ok, we had reservations with FL Tours to take us to the port, they were about 5 minutes early and were fantastic, got all of our luggage loaded and we were headed to the port.....I cannot express how excited we were....here are some pics....
This next picture is of mine and Kim's sons, my son Carson is on the right and Matthew is on the left in the van headed to Port Canaveral...
Here are a few pics I was able to snap on the way, we are getting very close...
AND NOW.....OUR FIRST SIGHTING OF THE DREAM, We all just started screaming in the van, we couldn't believe it, after watching this ship being built and reading reports and seeing pictures, we actually are seeing it in person, yes, I had to hold back tears, it was so surreal....This is what we saw..
We got straight into the Port and our driver dropped us off and got all of our luggage to us, gave us some quick instructions on picking us up later in the week and off we go into the terminal....ONE NOTE HERE, It was WINDY, I MEAN, WIIIINNNNNDDDDYYYYYY...Little did we know we were about to be in the middle of some huge tropical depression storm, winds got up to about 75 miles per hour, we were told they winds were only about 5 mph under hurricane force winds.....
UP NEXT: WALKING INTO THE TERMINAL AND BOARDING THE DREAM....
