Ok, let me start off this report by saying that this was the BEST VACATION EVER!!!! From the time we landed in Orlando until we got back onto the plane to come home, we had a DREAM vacation.....there are no words to describe it, you had to be there.....We arrived in Orlando on Oct 6th around midnight and headed to POP Century, we went to Disney World Friday Oct 7th and went to Universal Studios (where it rained the entire day) on Sat Oct 8th, but honestly, it was probably the best day I have ever had in a theme park, there was nobody there, it was AWESOME!!!!! Ok, before I start let me introduce you to our cast of characters that came along on this trip.....

Me (Kristy)
Hubby (Jay)
Son (Carson)
My Mom (Del)
My Dad (Mark)
My Best Friend (Kim)
Kim's Hubby (Chris)
Kim's son (Matthew)
Kim's mom (Dixie)
Kim's dad (Gene)

Day 1 Oct. 9th, 2011
I had no problems at all getting up and getting going, I don't think I have ever been that excited about going somewhere in my entire life, after a year of planning this trip and knowing I was about to see this ship in person, i was just ecstatic....When we headed down to the lobby at POP Century, this is what it looked like outside of our room.....

DSC01063.jpg

We had some breakfast but I was seriously so excited I barely ate anything, I had frosted flakes, Carson had some pancakes and my hubby had a breakfast platter, here are some pics...

DSC01098.jpg

Ok, we had reservations with FL Tours to take us to the port, they were about 5 minutes early and were fantastic, got all of our luggage loaded and we were headed to the port.....I cannot express how excited we were....here are some pics....

DSC01100.jpg

This next picture is of mine and Kim's sons, my son Carson is on the right and Matthew is on the left in the van headed to Port Canaveral...

DSC01101.jpg

Here are a few pics I was able to snap on the way, we are getting very close...

DSC01106.jpg

DSC01107.jpg

AND NOW.....OUR FIRST SIGHTING OF THE DREAM, We all just started screaming in the van, we couldn't believe it, after watching this ship being built and reading reports and seeing pictures, we actually are seeing it in person, yes, I had to hold back tears, it was so surreal....This is what we saw..

DSC01110.jpg

DSC01111.jpg

We got straight into the Port and our driver dropped us off and got all of our luggage to us, gave us some quick instructions on picking us up later in the week and off we go into the terminal....ONE NOTE HERE, It was WINDY, I MEAN, WIIIINNNNNDDDDYYYYYY...Little did we know we were about to be in the middle of some huge tropical depression storm, winds got up to about 75 miles per hour, we were told they winds were only about 5 mph under hurricane force winds.....:scared1:

UP NEXT: WALKING INTO THE TERMINAL AND BOARDING THE DREAM....

Ok, first let me explain, things happened so fast once we got into the terminal, it was like a whirlwind, I really expected to have to wait awhile before boarding, we arrived in Port Canaveral around 11:15 am and walked in and walked over, we already had all of our paperwork filled out, we got our room keys and we were in boarding group 6, they were currently calling groups 1-5, I think I had about 5 minutes and they were calling our number, I was able to snap a few pics before we walked into the boarding area.....so from the time we walked in until we were on the ship was probably 10 minutes no more than 15 min, it was super fast.....

AND HERE WE GO.........
DSC01119.jpg

There are no words to describe this ship, no pictures do it justice, you have to see it in person, I felt like I was in a fog, we were announced and one of the cast members explained that Cabanas and Enchanted Garden were open and that our staterooms would be ready around 1:30 pm, I was in such awe of this ship and the reality of actually being onboard made me have to hold back tears.....

DSC01120.jpg

We walked over to Guest Services, I signed up to do a dessert wine tasting and I dropped off a 9" vinylmation I bought for my son to have autographed by all the characters, which is soooo cute, I will post pictures....this is the sign I took that was on the counter at Guest Services...

DSC01121.jpg

We waited for my parents and my friend Kim and her parents to board and we all decided to go to Cabana's to eat lunch so we could sit out on the deck, however, THERE WAS NO WHERE to sit, we all had to split up, the boys sat at their own table, they thought they were big stuff and the rest of us split into two tables for 4, lunch was really good, we all liked it and we were all hungry, i snapped a few pictures of lunch....

DSC01124.jpg

DSC01126.jpg

The boys at their table....

DSC01125.jpg

DSC01127.jpg

After lunch we headed to the kids clubs to check them out, OMG, INCREDIBLE, I wish I were a kid, I would have lived here, my son loved it....the hand washing machines were the coolest things ever and YES we all tried them....

DSC01122.jpg

DSC01123.jpg

We did some exploring after that and I snapped some pictures before getting into our stateroom....

DSC01131.jpg

DSC01134.jpg

This is my dad walking around, let me just tell you about my dad, he wasn't too thrilled about this trip, we had to drag him along, NOW, he plans on cruising 3-4 times a year, ONLY on Disney, ha ha ha, he LOVED it!!!

DSC01139.jpg

Our staterooms were ready right at 1:30 and we walked in, I did not get many pics of the stateroom, just this one of our TV Set....we had a deluxe family stateroom with Verandah...

DSC01129.jpg

After this, we decided to go up and ride the aquaduck, we couldnt wait, due to very high winds they were not letting anyone ride alone, you had to have 2 riders per raft....LOVED IT...OMG, this was sooooo much fun and then after we did that, the boys went and did the Mid Ship Detective Agency while I got our stuff unpacked and put up before we had to go to the lifeboat drill...Our Muster Station was in the Walt Disney Theater.....

DSC01132.jpg

Here are the boys looking over the detective stuff they were doing....

DSC01133.jpg

Next up was the Sail Away Party which had been moved inside due to high winds....I snapped a few pics in the lobby while we were watching the dancers....it was fun and definately got everyone hyped up and ready to sail!!!

DSC01135.jpg

DSC01136.jpg

DSC01137.jpg

DSC01138.jpg

We didn't stay for the whole party, I headed back to the room to get ready for dinner.....our first night on the rotation was Enchanted Garden..

Up Next Enchanted Garden and a very WINDY end to our first night on board....

Ok, now onto Enchanted Garden.....

We had the first seating and this was around 5:45, we were supposed to sail out around 5:00, so after we were seated we asked when we were going to sail out, Well the head waiter, Ronald, said they wanted to wait until after the second dinner seating so people wouldn't have to eat with the ship rocking, we later found out this wasn't the case.....this restaurant was BEAUTIFUL, absolutely beautiful, dinner here was very good, we all really enjoyed it...

DSC01143.jpg

Matthew, he is such a sweet little boy....

DSC01145.jpg

My son Carson

DSC01148.jpg

Carson had chicken tenders, here is a pic of his plate and they made a ranch mickey mouse for him.....Our servers were Miquel and Marco, they were PHENOMENAL!!!!

DSC01150.jpg

DSC01154.jpg

Ok, I was very cold in this restaurant, we all were, well our wonderful server, Marco, wrapped all of us girls up in table cloths so we would be warm....

I had some type of cucumber roll for my appetizer, this was very good, very fresh....

DSC01149.jpg

I had the romaine wedge salad, i think this is what the majority of us got...very good as well, LOVED the dressing....

DSC01155.jpg

For Dinner I had the prime rib with potatoes, this was very good as well...

DSC01162.jpg

My husband had sea bass which he really enjoyed, I will take his word for it, I do not eat seafood...

DSC01164.jpg

Carson had the Mickey Bar for dessert and he loved that and I had Sweet Temptations, every night after this we learned to order multiple desserts so we could try everything....that was really fun....the chocolate mousse was the best....the strawberry cheesecake was odd, tasted very odd...

DSC01165.jpg

DSC01166.jpg

DSC01169.jpg

After Dinner it was off to the show, tonight's show was The Golden Mickey's, it was very good, but we had really bad seats, too far in the back and the balcony was too low or something, it blocked the screens down front...

DSC01173.jpg

After the show Kim and I went to Pink and tried some champagne, it was yummy, not sure which ones we got, but they were sparkling champagnes, very light and tasty...

DSC01174.jpg

SIDE NOTE....This was around 11:00 and we still had not sailed out....we went up to Deck 11 to see what was going on and they had closed the decks off, you could not get outside....so we all went back to our rooms and went out on the balcony, very very windy, couldnt stay out there too long because you felt like you would be blown away.....we were being told we would sail out around 4 in the morning and they would switch our "at sea" days....so we all called it a night, we were exhausted, but we did order room service, which was great and lots of fun....We were very excited when we got back to our room and saw we had gifts in our Fish Extender, which was so much fun, the boys loved coming back to the room everyday to see if they had any gifts and most of the time it was full...I have a picture of our FE and some gifts we received....

UP NEXT....Day 2 and a lot of sea sickness.....

Joining in. We just returned from our first cruise last week and it was amazing! We did a 3 night on the Dream and it was just not enough time. I am hoping to get on a 7 night cruise on the Fantasy one day, but it will be awhile with the prices they are charging for those.

I could never decide on desserts but felt funny ordering two. Those samplers are so small though that I will order more than one next time.

Oh no, I hope the sea sickness isnt too bad.

Yeah I agree with you, 4 nights is not enough, we rebooked while on board to do a 7 night east. caribbean on the fantasy next October, gonna take me a year to pay for it, ha haha.....

We kind of felt that way but after the first night our servers kind of encouraged us ordering more than 1 and we all had so much fun trying the different desserts......you should definately order more next time.....

I'm in ! Love your report so far! All I can say is what a difference the right attitude makes! I could easily see someone complaining about the things that weren't "right" - ie sail away inside, not leaving etc....I LOVE that youwere just so excited to be on the boat (as I imagine I will be too, I've waited far too long!) - I can't wait to read the rest of your adventures!!:yay:

Great trip report so far! Looking forward to the rest and LOVE all the pics!!!!

The one thing about me and everybody tells me this, I will find something in everything to be excited about and have fun doing, in fact, the day we were at Universal Studios, I walked off The Mummy, in pouring down rain, walking towards my dad and he started laughing, I said, what's so funny, he said, we have been in this weather all day and here you are, walking down the sidewalk with this huge smile on your face like your the happiest person in the world, I was, it was just a blast, to me, these are all memories, FUN memories that made our cruise different than everyone else's, thats pretty awesome to me!!!!

Great report - love your positive attitude - we leave one week from tomorrow for our Dream cruise! Can't wait to read more -love the pictures!!!

Yay! Love reading your report! We are going in oct 2012 on the Fantasy for 7 nights!!!! First cruise!!!!

What was the toileties like from photos and viedos that i have seen they look verry nice and are they replaced every day like they are at the resorts

I loved the all of the stuff we had, it was H2O Sea Marine Shampoo and Conditioner and H2O Body Butter, I loved it, they only replace it if you run out, however, I would ask our room hostess to leave us extra daily and she would, she was great.....

DAY 2.....DAY AT SEA

Like I said at the end of my last report, we were supposed to sail out at 5:00 pm but due to a tropical depression and EXTREMELY high winds we were told we would sail out early the next morning, well around 5:15 am we woke up and heard a very loud creaking sound that was coming from the bunk bed my son was sleeping in and we knew we were moving, you could barely walk, it was so rocky and rough, Carson got out of the bunk bed and got in our bed and we put on a movie and fell back asleep...My husband woke me up around 7:30 am and he was extremely sea sick, I told him he needed to go out to the balcony and just sit and get some fresh air, this seemed to help him a lot.....I NEVER get motion sickness, EVER, nothing really EVER bothers me, after being up and walking around in our stateroom for about 30 min, I was EXTREMELY queasy, we all decided to go up to Cabanas for Breakfast because I needed fresh air and looking at the ocean, suprisingly, helped a lot.....I told Kim that we were going to head on up, I was feeling really bad at this point, walking around Cabanas I had to stop periodically and hold onto something.....Well we get seated right out by the rails on the deck and I see Kim walking around looking for us, so I am doing everything I can not to get sick and I walk into Cabanas and right then a little boy threw up right in front of me.... I had to turn around quickly praying I wouldn't join in.....I took a Dramamine that my mom gave me and went down to Deck 11 and laid on a lounge chair and covered up with warm towels for about 2 hours, I seriously laid there and didnt move a muscle, the closer we got to the bahamas, the calmer the sea was and I was good to go.......Here is a pic of the boys that first morning, I think this picture says it all, this is how we were all feeling.....

DSC01185.jpg

After that rough morning, we all went to the Aqua Duck, we waited probably about 45 minutes, they had closed the Mickey Pool because of the rough sea's.....It was a very nice and relaxing day, we laid out mostly by the pool, we had lunch at Royal Palace, it was very nice, I had a cheeseburger, very good......After lunch we went and delivered our FE gifts, whew, what a workout that was, ha haha.....and then we had a wine tasting scheduled that we tried to cancel since our tummies were still not 100% but we were told that they would only refund our money if we had actually gone to the doctor on board....so we went.....

DSC01189.jpg

DSC01190.jpg

I am not a wine drinker, so I wasn't crazy about any of these, I really wanted to do the champagne tasting but that was scheduled during our dolphin encounter so we just decided on this.....the only one I liked out of the 4 we tried was an apple wine, it was good.....

DSC01191.jpg

Here are a few pics I took from our Verandah, we were on Deck 6, our stateroom was 6066.....

We all got ready for dinner, this night was Royal Palace, I think this one was my least favorite, it was all still very yummy, but I liked the other places better, Animators Palate was my Favorite!!!!!

Here are a few pictures I snapped before we went into Royal Palace....

For my appetizer I got the double baked spinach souffle...Um, it was ok, very different....

DSC01209.jpg

My husband got the pomegranate glazed duck breast, he liked this very much...

DSC01210.jpg

I got Belle's French Onion Soup, this was very yummy....I love french onion soup and this was great!!!!

DSC01211.jpg

For dinner I had the grilled beef tenderloin, this was good...

DSC01214.jpg

Now onto dessert, which I LOVED...we all tried 2 or 3 desserts each, this was really fun and our waiters encouraged us to try stuff, so we really liked this and did this the rest of the trip at dinner.....

The Dessert Menu...

DSC01217.jpg

I just realized I didnt take many pictures of dessert, my FAVORITE dessert was...Grand Marnier Souffle, this was sooooo yummy, I didnt get a picture, here are a couple of the peanut butter chocolate mousse and strawberry shortcake, these were both good as well...

DSC01220.jpg

DSC01219.jpg

After Dinner, Kim and her family went to see the show that night, which was Villains, we opted out, i wanted to just go lounge out on the deck, so we all changed back into our swimsuits and headed to Deck 11, we rode the aquaduck a few times and just laid there and watched a movie on Funnel Vision, the movie they were showing was Wizards of Waverly Place.....here are some more pics I snapped.....
