All DVC Resorts book for Dec. 30th and 31st??

Hey all,

Just called to make reservations at our home resort, SSR, for the 29th of December to the 4th of January. We just decided on this date due to school, kids activities, etc. during that time of the school year and called to check availibility. The CM I talked to a member services told me there was nothing availible throughout the whole resort on the 30th and 31st of December. I then asked if there was any availibility for those days at another resort, and she informed me that there is nothing, anywhere, and any DVC resort for the 30th and 31st of December. Has anyone else experienced this? I shouldnt even be able to call for any other resorts until tomorrow any way (7 months) and am really surprised to hear of everything being booked up for those two days only.

Sorry . I am not surprised that there is no availability. It's a very busy time. Also, people who have check-ins prior to 12/29 can still scoop up those dates if they called at the start of their own 7-month window.

Did you put yourself on a waitlist? If not, call back right away. You will at least have a jump on those people who can't call until tomorrow.

You ~might~ be able to book member cash reservation for those nights through MS (sometimes member 25% discount may even be available), if you're able to do that at least it's better than nothing while waiting to see if waitlist comes through for you. Also, if the cash nights are same villa type as nights you book on points it may even be possible to link those 2 reservations and maybe you'll not need to change villas.

I am very aware that it is a busy time...we usually go during this week of this year, and have 2 or 3 times before this. I just find it odd that the only days that were'nt availible were the 30th and 31st. I called back again and pu myself on two waitlists, so I hope something comes out of that.
