Did anyone see this already. I just checked ratings, people say it is weird and scary, is it true? I hoped the movie is good, love the story.

Well, the original was weird and scary. Add Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter and you step into the realm of the truly bizzare. :lmao:

If you don't like dark/weird/twisted...stick with the animated version. That's what I'm doing.:earsboy:

DH and I saw it last weekend and really enjoyed it. It was a well thought out story and was extremely well acted. We didn't see it in 3D as that makes me sick to my stomach, but it was excellent in 2D!

Took a 7 year old, an 11 year old, and an 80 year old to the 3D version today. I expected to hate it, as I have most of Tim Burton's stuff. LOVED IT!! We all did. Alice, Mad Hatter, and Red Queen were exceptionally good.

I started a thread the day it opened when I got hone from seeing it. I did not think is was dark or twisted, going again on tuesday!

I loved it and found it very whimsical and touching. It was very creative and I like things like that.

LOVED IT!!!! LOVED IT!!! LOVED IT!!!! I hate Tim Burton Movies - this was an excellent movie - this time last week we were sittng in the IMAX Real 3D Movie Theater watching it. I want to see it again.

Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I did not find this movie "dark, creepy, or scary". :confused3

I was so worried about taking my youngest to see it because everything I had read said it was "dark" and for ages 10 and up. We all enjoyed it. No one was scared and I didn't find anything disturbing about it.

The visuals were amazing and the story concept was good. Our only complaint was that it actually wasn't intense enough because none of us felt an emotional connection with any of the characters.

I agree! I was very leery about going to see it, but I am so glad I did. I have never seen the original, but I plan to watch it now. I thought the acting was done very well also. I didn't think it was scary..there were a bunch of small children in the theater and nobody cried. :thumbsup2 I will definitely go see it again!

In which way it is "dark". Is it Swiny Tod(SP) dark or Adams Family dark?
I could not take first but I love the second one.

I loved it and did not really find it "dark" or "Creepy", I did find it odd though but that is what made it good.

Nothing like Sweeny Todd dark! It was really cute and well done and just fine for kids. I wouldn't even say it was Adams Family dark because it really wasn't a dark creepy movie in my opinion. Whimsical is defiantly a good work to use.
We had a group of three eighteen year olds, a sixteen year old, and a twelve year old and we all loved it! Want to see it again!

Good to know, it is not dark in those ways. I try to make my DD(17) go and watch it. She does not like creepy movies. She tries to take me to Avatar instead, she already watched, but I really want to see Alice.:)

I absolutely loved it! I saw it in 2D the day it came out and in IMAX 3D this past Thurs. I do not think it was dark. Hatter (Depp) is deranged and good at it but not scary. Nothing like Burton's past darkness in works like sweeny todd. I think all of the acting was just marvelous and in my book it is better then the cartoon. I would have to say it is a must see and i would most definitely pay to see it a 3rd time!! Just loved it.
Magical Wishes :wizard:

LOVED IT !!!!!
OP You should see it first and then see Avatar, loved them both, think the 3d was better in Avatar.
