I know, I know, I should have mentioned it this morning, but it kept slipping my mind.

I had to call and cancel our 4:15pm lunch PS at Alfredo's for 13 on Saturday, January 18, 2003. Yes, lunch--LATE lunch.

Don't know if anybody cares, but I thought I'd mention it.

Congratulations!! Cancelling a so-called "meal" at Alfredo's is the best thing you ever did!

ALfredo's is the worst so-called "restaurant"in the world (not just the worst in Disney World, the worst in the ENTIRE world). Next time you are tempted to make a reservation at Alfredo's, tear the phone out of the wall until the urge passes.

I think you did the right thing cancelling Alfredos!

My DH really enjoyed it the first time we went there (back in 1993). Me, I wasn't so crazy about it. We thought about going there again, so I made the PS. But then I looked over the menu and realized nothing interested me except the Spaghetti and Meatballs, and I can get that anywhere (and for a lot less). So I cancelled. Now we're thinking of the counter service place at Morocco (trying to save a few bucks over the full-service places). Anyone have any thoughts on that?

You have saved yourself from bad food and rude waiters and $4 bottles of water. Congratulations This is the only dining venue in the whole WDW complex that I ever wrote a letter to Disney telling them of my bad experience at this joint.

Good decision! We were there in October for lunch. I had always wanted to do this restaurant and I was very disappointed. The food was okay, but we had a lousy table (I should have complained, oh well) and our waiter smelled. Yuck! bathing every day is so important!!

I don't understand why everyone hates Alfredo's. This is a must for my DH and I every time we go to Disney World, which is quite often. We really haven't strayed from ordering anything but the Fettuccini Alfredo. It is the best that we both have ever had. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But let someone decide for themselves before you bash the place. If they don't like it after they have tried it, fine, at least they tried it for themselves. :)

I have to say now I'm a bit concerned! We originally had PS for CP package at Le Cellier but had to change days and it was all booked for our new date. After reading a great review from tourguideMikes site a felt comfortable going with Alfredo's-now you all have me very worried!

antkim-Like I said, you have to try it for yourselves. It is always crowded, so someone must like it.

if this is on your list of restaurants that you want to try, then go ahead and keep your ressie. It is a beautiful place and I am glad we went. It was not my favorite place and not sure if I would go back. BUt everyone feels differently and everyone likes different things.

I liked the fettucine alfredo, it was very rich. (We had the sampler plate) but there is no way I could eat a whole plate of it. I have never had fettucine that was so rich.

Good luck with whatever YOU decide. :)

i did the same thing...for our honeymoon, we were trying to decide what restaurant to have our wedding night dinner for the 2 of us (we were married at an offsite wedding chapel in orlando). we chose alfredo's. DH is a huge italian food fan!! i was concerned about our choice due to a lot of negative reviews that i read online about alfredo's. DH told me that we should try it for ourselves. that's how he's found a lot of his favorite restaurants! a lot of people will give a horrible review of a place, he'll go and try it, and he loves it!

we were not disappointed! we both ordered the fettucine alfredo and salads. he had the house salad (which i wouldn't have liked) and i had the caesar salad. my salad was heavenly!! our pasta was wonderful and it was followed by the dessert sampler tray. overall, it was a fabulous meal...

i did think that it was a bit overpriced, but it was still wonderful!! and i'm glad i didn't change my mind about eating there after the negative reports here online...

try it for yourself! if you don't like it, at least you tried it!!

Thanks Brandy!
I feel better now!Like I said before we had originally had PS for Le Celllier but due to a change of plans that changed also.Le Cellier and Teppanyaki were all booked so Alfredo's it was.Of course I didn't mind because Italian is my favorite anyways, and my DH is Italian so that's a match.I know the boards can be extremely oppinionated but a lot of great advice is here as well so I was concerned. We will try it and form our own oppinion but now at least I know a few of you liked it!

I was also very disappointed in Alfredo's. The CMs weren't exactly pleasant. But as someone said, it was very crowded.... "someone must like it". I just know it wasn't me :(

We went in September. We pretty much eat anywhere we want and decide for ourselves so I would recommend anyone else do the same. But, here is what we thought of Alfredos. The pasta was undercooked. It tasted very good though, but would have been better if it had been cooked more. My boyfriend loved his though. This is what we had.....
Polletto Ruspante all'Uva - slow roasted farm-raised chickent splashed with an aged white grape sauce and served on our homemade Gorgonzola polenta and peperonata $20.95 (my bf)

Rigatoni all'Amatriciana - traditional Roman classic made with Rigatoni pasta sauteed with imported sweet pancetta bacon, roasted onions in a rich tomato sauce with pecorino cheese $17.50 (me)

I thought it was a little overpriced, but what Disney restaurant isnt, I mean $7 for a burger and fries at a fast food place?
Our only big complaint was the service, we barely ever saw our server and almost always didnt have anything to drink. But that said, my boyfriend loved it and if he wantd to go back I would. With so many places to eat I think we will try more places before we go back, because no matter what anyone elses opinion I think everything deserves one shot!
Have fun!!

Oh yeah, we did have some good wine there though (but I dont remember what it was called, sorry)

Just realized I spelled opinion wrong TWICE last night!Lack of sleep I guess-DS has had coxsachie virus(hand, foot and mouth disease)and has been up the last few nights because his mouth is so sore.I thought I was seeing double when I just read my post!LOL

antkim, take it from a fellow Mass. resident, not everyone hates Alfredo's. It's not the North End, but I do make a point to eat there every time I'm visiting the World. I love the fettucine alfredo. The atmosphere is great, too (as long as your waiter is in the habit of bathing *wink*). Have a wonderful visit!

We have eaten here 3 times, twice with familyand once wiyh friends. We had 3 different experiences that ranged from really great( food, service, table etc) to just ok. The biggest problem with the just ok was the service-bad, and the table( sort of off in a side room and kinda out of the loop). The food was good however. I think,as with so many WDW restaurants, that the service has a great deal more impact on the quality of your experience than it would at a regular out of WDW restaurant.:Pinkbounc :o :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Babyblue,
The north end is hard to beat but if you can actually say you enjoyed Alfredo's after eating in the north end that's says a whole lot!!!Stinky waiters on the other hand don't sound great-they have to be really stinky to smell them over all that garlic!haha
I can't wait and I'll be sure to post my OPINION.(I got it right!!!!!)

We tried Alfredo's last week for the first time, and LOVED it. Our waitress was very attentive, and the portions were huge. It was pretty crowded, but so was every other restaurant we went to.

I remember reading earlier reports about it being "canned" Italian food, but we all thought everything was very fresh.
