Alerts disappeared?

Hi there! Yesterday my alerts randomly disappeared. I went into my preferences and unchecked then rechecked everything, but still no alerts on my "bell."

Any other fixes? I've asked a few questions and don't want to miss acknowledging the answers I receive. Thanks!

If the person answering your question doesn't quote you, you won't get an alert. I got my alerts today.

Oh, I guess I didn't realize it was only an alert for quotes. Most of the time I would see a "reacted to your post" so I'd click on that to see if there was a comment. Has that recently changed? Thanks for the help!

Well, if they do a (not sure what it's called) to notify you, you'll get an alert. Like this: @poptart90

No. You should get an alert for:

• quoting your post
• reacting (liking, etc.) to your post
• mentions (tags) you in a post
• a new post in a thread or forum you set to "watch"
• reacts to your message in a Conversation (PM)
• follows you

I did get an alert for your quote, but it looks like I'm not receiving the other alerts now (even though they all worked a few days ago). Getting alerts for just quotes, even though I've checked all the boxes under preferences to receive these other alerts. Any ideas how to fix? Thanks!

@poptart90 You won't get alerts for things that occurred in the past -- so if someone "liked" your post a couple of days ago (and you didn't get an alert then), you won't get one now by rechecking the boxes. Also the system typically only sends 1 alert for new posts in a thread, not an alert for each new post.

Maybe you'll get another -- assuming you have this post set to "watch"
