Alec Baldwin shows a disgusting level of liberal condescension

Why do republicans get so worked up with stuff like this? If it bothers you when celebrities are less than charming, you'd better stop watching sports, movies, and tv all together.

It's a surprise to you that a celebrity, democrat or republican, could be a snob? I got news for you, many your favorites would probably surprise you if you saw them in action.

I was in a bar and saw a really beloved actor behaving like an idiot just a few months ago. My father in law told me that he used to go to a place that a beloved news anchor hung out and he was a lush and a bore. I was talking to a hotel concierge person in LA and they told me that working with the famous is pretty much a nightmare, and that she just had to get really thick skin or her feelings would be hurt every day. She told me stories about people I really admire for their entertainent qualities. And sports stars, don't you wish they'd just shut up and play sometimes?

Why does anyone care? I don't get why ya'all are so damaged by anyone a celebrity does or says.

IHe's the biggest hypocrite and probably one of the *worst* examples of what Americans should stand for that I've ever heard. (In the sense that he calls himself a great American but is ridiculously judgmental and almost hateful at times).

He was about an ridiculously judgmental and hatelful as the OP's statement....

Hate is always such an attractive way of duscussing why you disagree with someone, and so SMART! Let me go and spit in someone who I disagree with's face... not my former co-worker Sean because I KNOW his is an act but darn is he EFFECTIVE if he starts stuff like this.

I wonder too why people get so bothered by what celebrities do and say. I personally put as much stock in their comments as anyone else and I know that they can act as goofy as anyone else. I don't get the anger or the desire to spit in someone's face or any of it.

Hee heee... I was going to post the same thing. Just another Hollywood type blowing hot air. I wonder why the american public puts so much stock into what he or anyone else in Hollywood says... they're just actors for gosh sakes! I hate it when actors get political and use their celebrity to push their agenda.
I have often wondered the same hting. I have often wondered why some of the American public think the opinions of Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin etc.mean any more than mine or yours.

As far as the "construction worker" line...obviously Alec hasn't looked at the bank accounts of some of the contractors I know. They're making a heck of a lot more than I am!!

Statements like that just show people's ignorance, and ignorance isn't limited to liberal, conservative, rich or poor.

And I know, I know...Alec has the right to his opinion. And I have the right to think he's an idiot.

Both extremes are disgusting, IMO. Hannity represents one extreme and Baldwin the other.

I am a conservative and I agree with a lot of Sean Hannity's points of view. I was watching Hannity and Colmes yesterday and they featured a lot of the radio show where Hannity had it out with Baldwin. I agree that Alec Baldwin has said a lot of idiotic things, and I don't care for him at all. But the way Hannity attacked him was not classy. He did not even give Baldwin a chance to respond. Alec Baldwin is an actor, not a real radio show host (he was just cohost for the day on that radio show, I believe), so he's not as articulate or quick-witted as Hannity. Besides, Baldwin had no idea Sean Hannity would be calling in, and was not prepared to do battle the way Hannity was. I was really disappointed in Sean Hannity's behavior.

I listen to Sean Hannity almost daily :goodvibes

I NEVER listen to what Hollyweird has to say!! Just my policy. :)

Typical Hollywood liberal who thinks he is better than the working man.

Ahem.

A liberal is someone who is "not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry" and who favours "proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded" etc.

In other words, liberalism teaches tolerance and fellowship.

Conservatism, however, focuses on traditional values which can often include the class system.

If someone is going to pontificate about their political beliefs, they should be able to state them in an oration, AND be able to defend their ideologies in a debate.

Granted, Baldwin may not have been prepared for Hannity's questions, but instead of talking to him with the slightest amount of modicum, he went straight to name-calling. Calling Hannity a "talentless *****" was no way to debate his extreme left views with Hannity or anyone else.

Frankly, he couldn't get Sean off the phone fast enough, but started his orations again when Sean wasn't on air. As soon as Sean wanted back into the show, he refused to take the call and would only take calls from "friends" of the show.

If you can't defend your beliefs, then you shouldn't pontificate them either.

I totally agree. Mark Levin was even worse right from the start. It reminded me of middle school!

He's hilarious on Saturday Night Live.

I don't know much about his views and/or beliefs but I will give him that!

May we correctly assume you disapproved of Ronald Reagan for the exact same reason you listed above?!?

At least Reagan's "hot air" blew down the Berlin Wall. :thumbsup2

He backed up his oratory with action. :cool2:
