ALDI, please tell me about them. What are your favorites?

I have been slow to jump on the Aldi bandwagon, but am fully on board now. They’ve been in my area a long time and I don’t think you can beat their prices, but until a few years ago they didn’t take credit cards. No matter how much cash I had on me I was holding my breath when I was checking out. I also thought their produce was very hit or miss early on, now I think most of their produce is fantastic. My regular items are: pretzels, salad dressing, nuts (peanuts, cashews), crackers, pudding mix, chocolate chips, sugar, flour, brown sugar, coffee creamer, bottled water, tomato sauce, broth, mini cucumbers, avocados, mini peppers, potatoes, tomato mix, cilantro, grass fed ground beef, salmon, cheese, naan, sourdough bread, olives and artichokes. I also check out their fruit and see what looks good, the frozen section (they have several cases of items that seem to be around a few weeks and then are gone) and their other special items that are there until they’re gone.

I occasionally buy their frozen vegetables, crescent rolls, ham steaks and ice cream novelties.

The only thing I’ve bought and not liked were some version of frozen chicken breast. It was not trimmed at all to my liking and I think they were flavored and I wasn’t impressed. Fresh chicken from there is fine.

Based on this thread I should try their cookies—or maybe not. The best way for me to not eat too much junk is to not have it in the house.
