We booked on opening day for Golds-Plat...yesterday.

It will be me, my husband, plus our daughter will be 13 at the time...and our son 8. Yikes. Sounds so old.

We have never been to Alaska and are very much looking forward to it. We are total beach and swimming/water people so this will be a radical departure for us. The first thing my DD asked is would she be able to swim on the ship. Hope they can. It will be so odd not having warm weather and beaches.

Glad to have it booked, although it is far away. We will be in a SPH cabin on deck 5. :goodvibes

We are warm weather cruisers too. I loooove a warm beach and a drink in my hand. This will be different! I know my DS will probably swim- he swam on our MR cruise on sailaway day, when it was definitely cold and raining! My kids love science and nature though so I think this will be fun for them.

I know what you mean about them getting old- they are 11/14 now but will BOTH be teens by the time the cruise rolls around. Yikes is right. They were 8 and 11 on our first DCL cruise!

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Have a great cruise!

We are in.
It will be Me, Steve, Allison (9), Alexis (7), Arianne (5) and our new baby. We book 2 room.

Melly

We're in too! We just sent in the deposit for DH, Me, and dd's 11/8 at that time (wow!)......

Can't wait to see a totally different set of ports and to be back on the Wonder again!

We went to dinner with my parents tonight and I had a whole proposal planned to talk them into coming with us....didn't need it, within 5 minutes they were in too! Just sent off a request to book their room.....

We did the EBTA with them on the Magic in 2010 and had a blast!! So excited to see something so different and to experience it with the whole gang in tow!

I've very excited that DCL is going to Alaska again, because I get to go this time! :goodvibes The Wonder was my first cruise ever when DD was only 9 months. We are going on the Fantasy this year with my mother and hope to talk her into joining us for Alaska also. I'm torn between a SPH and a 7A but right now I have the 7A reserved (if I go with the 10A, I'll probably switch to the 6/17 cruise so we can be on board for our birthdays). DD will be nearly 6 and we may be spending some time in the room.

For those of you deciding between inside vs. porthole, consider the fact that the sun may not set until 10p and may rise by 4am!

The porthole rooms (even with the curtains) may throw sleep patterns off....not a reason not to pick them, but perhaps a good reason to go with an inside cabin if you are on the fence!

We are very excited to finally get to Alaska Me my husband and my daughter (12) Love the wonder and looking forward to being back on it. The small ships are much cozier:goodvibes

I had not thought about the weird sun rise & sun set times. We have a 10a sph cabin. I wonder if we should downgrade. I'm so excited about this trip I've already started looking at excursions and boy are they expensive. They look awesome though.

Welcome to all the cruisers!!!

My inlaws have done Alaska in June before on NCL. I asked about the late sunsets, and they said it didn't bother them at all. They are early to bed folks so if it was going to bother anyone it would be them I would think. So relax and enjoy the view! You can always pull the curtains closed if the sun wakes you early.

Hi all! We booked the day we were able! It will be my husband and I's third cruise, first non-beach and first with a verandah. We splurged on a 7A which I never thought we would do.... The excursions are giving us sticker shock, but we will definitely do the dog sled and some float plane excursions while we are there if we can snag them... (poor lowly silvers..! :sad2:)

This is a huge turn around for my husband who spent a year insisting if it was not on a beach he was not interested... now he is as excited as I am. We even got him a Canon DSLR as a 30th birthday present this last weekend so we will have nice gear - now he just needs to make sure he is proficient enough to make a difference with it!

Hi everyone !! Bruce and I just booked this Alaskan cruise and can't wait ! We lived in Anchorage for 3 years ,so it will be wonderful to go back !! We are "empty nesters" and usually have some of our Grandchildren with us, but this time we'll be alone. Navagators Verandah, Early Dining. This will be our 14th Disney cruise. Looking forward to meeting you !

We just switched to the 1st Alaska cruise so that we could add on the Pacific Coast repositioning cruise for a B2B.

Hope everyone has a fabulous time in Alaska !!

Hello all. We just booked this cruise last week while on the Magic. Looking forward to getting FE's together...

Anyone flying into Seattle?

Anyone flying into Seattle?

We're debating that. Maybe. It really depends on prices. Might fly into Seattle then add a couple days in Vancouver at the end, then fly back out of Seattle. It sounds easy enough to do.
