Hey everyone, I am looking for ideas to help choose between the two cruises - here is a little info
it will be hubby, myself and DS who will be in the 4th grade, we may take his cousin who will be in the 5th grade

We did EBPC last year and loved it! I want to do it one more time but that will require my son to miss school, both him and his cousin will be in Elementary, middle starts in the 6th grade. We plan on booking the WBPC that will more likely be at the end of April or 1st part of May, our kids school is ok with kids missing school in May for reasons that I am unaware of
We also would like to do an Alaska Cruise, that one will be in mid July or late August. No school will be missed

I would rather do Alaska since we did EBPC last year, but if we put it off WBPC then the kids will miss so days in Middle school when we do go on the WBPC- I worry about that.

We try to go on DCL every year but taking next year off (2018) because my sister and I are taking our families on a HUGE road trip! The whole month of August we will cruise America in an RV
Whats your thoughts? Ideas? TIA

I voted EBPC before I read that you has already done that.

Knowing that now I would have said Alaska.

Personally, I'd look into Alaska with a different cruise line. For me, the DCL itinerary in Alaska is not that great. But, it depends if you're doing Alaska to see Alaska, or have a Disney experience with Alaska on the side.

Are the ports different on the WBPC than they were on the EBPC? That would make a difference.

Thanks, but we only cruise DCL, it is worth every penny lol
they ports might be a little different, its more about the experience for the boys and being on DCL for 14 nights, I found EBPC very educational but Joey was only 7 when we went he will be 10 next time, if we do the WBPC anyways.

We did the EBPC in 2008 on the Magic and stopped at 6 ports (CC included). Today it looks like there are 5 without CC. I believe the WBPC next May is sold out, or close to it. It stops at CC, which is a big draw, in addition to gaining three hours instead of losing them going east.
We did Alaska in June with kids & grandkids and loved it. The Wonder lives up to its name and we all had fun on every excursion except one. Youngest grandkids wanted to see seals, we saw a bunch of them and they were most happy. Being with this crew made the trip special.
At this point, with various opinions about which to chose, I would flip a coin to decide. The mouse makes cruising fun no matter where you go.

we have done the Alaska and Panama cruises on the Wonder a couple times. 7 days Alaska or 14 days Panama, cold weather Alaska, or warm weather Panama. both awesome cruses. Alaska is beautiful.

We have done both but I would like to do Alaska again. Family group was senior-in-laws, sister in law and her husband, DH and me. We tried for the whole family but brother in law had medical issues and our son couldn't get the time off from work.

We went in early August. The scenic views were amazing, the glacier fantastic, plus so much wildlife to see. Hubby and I both say it was the most relaxing and memorable vacation, even if we were traveling with other family members. :p

We are doing the WBPC cruise next April which stops at Castaway Cay and has a stop in Costa Rica in addition to the usual Cartagena. Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo San Lucas.

We hope to get a transatlantic cruise in before too many more years. When Disney retires the Magic and Wonder we'll have to find a new cruise lines. We like that size ship and didn't care for the Dream. It was okay but we prefer the classic size. Probably won't even bother visits the 3 new ones since they are going to be bigger than the Dream and Fantasy.

If it was me I would do EBPC because of the childrens age. Now that mine are older we only cruise off school times. Homework make up was a beast for my son as he got older.
But if I am thinking of just location I would choose Alaska.
