Alaska on July 19th, 2011 "Where a good tan is hard to find"

Good Morning fellow Alaskan cruisers! Hope all had a good weekend, and some a nice long weekend. We had yesterday off and used it to close up our camping season and get ready for the dreaded "w" word (winter).

Welcome Aboard to our new cruisers!:welcome:

Hi. DH&I were away for the weekend, so welcome to anyone who has recently joined us! JoAnn, your school was opened on Columbus Day? We were off and banks were closed. We were actually in your neck of the woods this weekend, the Poconos.

Our schools were open yesterday too. DW had to teach, DS had to learn. Only the banks and the Federal stuff was closed.

Our schools were closed yesterday AND today, teacher in service day. My girls loved it, a mini vacation. :)

So jeaous!

Well, the Poconos are not that far but still like two hours away!

I still need to catch up here. I have been sick the past two weeks and just found out I have bacterial pink eye today (I know TMI;)). I'm staying home tomorrow from work so I hope to read through all I have missed here. Goodness we have had snow here in MN already...I'm so not ready for it yet..wish I was on the Wonder or Magic right about now:goodvibes

I hope all is well with everyone and their families.

Lisa- Hope you are feeling better soon. You can keep the snow there for a little while longer if you can, I am not ready for it yet :lmao:

Good Morning Fellow Cruisers!!

I know it might be a bit premature to discuss Alaska ports, so when I see something that might be interesting (excursions, restaurants, etc), I've been adding the link to the Facebook group page.

Feel free to do the same.

It's a rainy morning here in Fresno.

That is great because we sure need the rain :woohoo:

Our schools were open yesterday too. DW had to teach, DS had to learn. Only the banks and the Federal stuff was closed.

Same here

Sorry you have not been feeling well. Hope you feel better soon and don't scratch/itch that eye :grouphug::flower3:

Thanks Tom.

Anybody here tweet??? I have been tweeting with Suze Orman.....she gives such great advice :woohoo:She is helping us get back on the road to pounding out our retirement. Some of us old folks/baby boomers need to play catch up for all we lost and all we did not invest and should have. :hippie:

Does anyone watch the show Hells Kitchen? WE are fans of the show and last nights winner will be the new head Chef at one of the restaurants in Whistler, Canada. The boys are so excited because we will be staying up there as part of our week in Canada before the cruise. So of course we will have to go there and eat.....cant wait to see the prices:lmao:

Anyone else thinking of heading up that way before the cruise???

I found you guys!!! Thanks for the post on Facebook.
