ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade!

I know have our Skagway tour book.
I emailed Dyea Dave ( http://www.dyeadavetours.com/tours.htm ) and book his Carcross, Yukon and Emerald Lake tour for $69. There is room for anyone else if you want to join.:thumbsup2

We went with Dyea Dave in 2009 and had a great time.

Thanks Tracy, do you know if there is an additional cost if you do the train instead of the van?

We're currently booked on this cruise but just saw the Kids Sail Free offer in May and trying to decide whether we should move our dates. The only thing I can think of that may be different is teh weather. Anything else we should consider?

Thanks!
PJ

Does our cruise have an image or logo or title yet? Not that I am creative enough to make one, but I was curious.

I just saved us $30.00 on this cruise. Evidently, the prices have dropped slightly since I booked onboard almost two years ago!! :cool1: That means a Palo ressie and drink for DH on his B-day!!!

I don't think so but I have been MIA for quite some time. If not - I might try to make one - Im not that creative but i have fun doing it.

What are some of the hotels folks are staying in? How much are they? How far from the Cruise terminal are they?

I thought there was some kind of a graphic on the facebook page but now that I look again, I don't see it. Luckily I saved it, but I can't copy and paste it here... sorry! Now that I look at it I think it has the old route on it, before it was officially changed to the inside passage. I will try to figure out how to copy it here.

I posted the graphic that I had saved on the facebook page (link on 1st page of this thread). I do apologize that I can't give credit to the DISigner, but I don't know whose it is. If anyone knows please let me know so I can give credit and ask permission/forgiveness for posting it. Thanks!

My husband and I just booked this cruise!! We were originally on the West Coast Repo, but had to cancel due to moving from TX to WA. Please place our names and what not on the roster and the FE! Clint (age 26) (N365PA) and Sarah (age 24), our stateroom number is 5634, and we have the late dining. Thank you!!

I know I'm in red on the roster about transferring but I am keeping the cruise. I have flights booked to and from Vancouver so I am sticking with it now.

There was a graphic I liked with a moose on it.

I just joined the cruise group on facebook! My husband and I just got off the Dream on the 30th (We did the maiden voyage), and while onboard we booked this cruise. We actually had to cancel the West Coast Repo (we're moving from TX to WA due to work), and we weren't going to be able to make the WCR cruise. This will be my 3rd DCL cruise, and my husband's 4th. We both love Alaska, and we're actually trying to move up there! As I was joining the facebook group I just realized that we're actually cruising over my birthday (9/4), so now I'm really really really really excited!

Can someone please give me a summary of the last 26 pages of the thread...have any decisions been made about FE, roster/list, who is in charge of what, etc. Thank you thank! We're looking forward to the cruise!!

Oh, can you tell us about the Dream? How much more crowded did it feel with ~1500 guests on board?

Hopefully, things have finally started to settle down for me and I can put some effort into being more active on the thread.

Right now we have 3 cabins booked for the cruise.

Paula (46) & Alan (49) #6076, Late Dining & I am leaning to participate in the FE

Carol (66) & Bob (75) #6154. (this is my mom and her husband)

Doris (60 +?) #6078 (this is my MIL)

Doris is still looking for a room mate for this and doesn't seem to be having much luck. This will be our 10th Disney cruise. My Mom & Bob's 3rd and Doris's 2nd.

I started looking at excursions this week and saving some to my wish list. Some of them sure are expensive:scared1:

Well, hope everyone has a great Sunday and if you are a football fan, that your team wins:):goodvibes

Is anyone in charge of doing the FE list? If not, I would be happy to do so.

Just let me know. I am finally able to starting thinking about this cruise!

Des, you have been way busier than me! But I am glad to have a little more time to start planning this cruise. I never managed to make the time before the WBPC and with as expensive as these excursions are, I really want to plan better:)

Oh des ou are an angel! You did so much for the PC and now for Alaska. It is going to be so much fun!!

The Dream was AMAZING!!! It really didn't feel crowded at all--except when the shops opened and everyone wanted Maiden Voyage stuff (Sadly some people were just plain rude). Other than that...the ship was amazing. Here are a few of my highlights:

-The art around the ship was really cool. A lot of the art is electronic, so it moves when you walk past, it changes every day, and when you walk past the art it doesn't always do the same thing.

-The attention to detail in everything! From the tablecoths and napkins to the iron work and chandaliers.

-The Aqua Duck was really cool! If you're sitting in the back of the raft you get soaking wet, but it's a blast!

-The mini golf game up on Goofy's Sports deck was neat. There were tees for Max and Goofy, so you could change up the game if you wanted.

Overall, all I have to say is WOW! I could keep going with highlights! I was really surprised at how the ship didn't feel crowded, and I think that's partially because it's huge compared to the Magic and Wonder. I highly recommend a cruise on the Dream!!:cool1:
