ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade!

I hope others are still excited about this cruise!!! I know that several of us have had to change the cruise dates or plans, but the excursions will come out after the first of the year, and then we can really start the planning!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

:dance3: Right now I am working on our Disney Panama Cruse! But will get into this when we get back.

We just returned from WDW, wanted to do the Panama Canal but the end date was 2 days too late for DD's college return for Spring Semester. :sad1: Hoping they find reason to do another one in the future.

Also watching very closely to see the new Magic locations when the Fantasy comes on line.

I hope everyone had a great holiday season!!! I don't know about anyone else, but I am SO excited that the cruise excursions for Alaska are up. I know it is a LONG time before I get to make them, but at least there is something to go by...
Has anyone already decided on what they want to do?
THe only thing I know for sure is that DH and I will do something with the steam train in Skagway, but otherwise we are still looking!!!
Thanks!

If Hubby says yes these are the tours I am looking at doing.

Skagway Dyea Dave Carcross, Yukon and Emerald Lake. Not sure if we will take the train for one of the ways or not yet. The train is another 81 dollars.

Juneau I would like to go whale watching.

Ketchikan I would like to do Beringsea Crab Fisherman's tour.

These last two I think I will book with shoretrips dot com.

Welcome Tracy,

We are looking at Whale watching in Juneau as well. We are also looking into putting custom excursions together in the other ports to be sure and hit the Fjords, the Rainforests and the Glaciers. Hoping to include boats, rafts, hiking, float plane and vehicle. Would like to include a train just have to see if we are going to have enough time to put these things together.

I just booked Tracy (me), Bill (DH) and Tony (DS 17) room 1058
I also booked for Bill's brother and family Rick & Deb and their kids Jen (18) & Greg (10). They have rooms 6642 & 6643.:thumbsup2:cool1:

This will be Rick, Deb, Jen & Greg's first cruise.

One of the girls at work who was in Alaska this summer told me to skip the rainforest, since it is not like the rainforests we saw in Ecuador or Hawaii she thought we would be disappointed. :confused3

So we are going to focus on glaciers, flightseeing and bears.

Not sure which rainforest she ment, but if she ment the Glacier Gardens in Juneau then yes I would say skip it. We did this tour on our 2009 Alaska cruise and it was not a big wow thing.

I have read there is a rainforest tour in Ketchikan now that one I don't know what it is like. The Ketchikan one talk about the wild life you will see too where the Juneau one is just plants (trees, flowers, furns and stuff like that).

Hey all! I am considering this cruise but wondering how long many of you are spending in Vancouver before? A day? Coming the night before? Three days?

Just trying to sort out what we may be doing!

We are coming in on Sunday night, as I didn't want to cut it too close by arriving on Monday night. We will probably leave Vancouver on Wednesday afternoon, so we will have one day before and one day after to do some sightseeing. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thanks! I think I am planning on two days before (possibly).... we might just go in the night before, do the cruise, then leave right after. It just depends on pricing, thanks so much!

Hi everyone!

Just home from the PC and 2 day to no-where cruise..unfortunately came home with a flu that is kicking my behind..hope to get more on top of things soon!

we will be flying in the day of the cruise and flying home the day we get off.

Now, I can start planning and getting into this cruise. We just got back from the 2-day cruise to nowhere and had an absolute blast!!! I am glad to finally start on this cruise.

My DH is trying to decide when we should leave for Vancouver. We have family and friends in both Washington and Oregon that he wants to visit while we are up that way. Just have to wait and see what he decide. I would like to be in Vancouver on Sunday and spend the day Monday sight-seeing.

Off to check on flights and excursions.

I know this must be here someplace, but I can't find it right off. Could someone please tell me whic terminal we will be at? The Canada Cruise Place Terminal or the Ballantyne? Trying to figure hotel options.
