We will be flying Allegiant into Sanford. They offer an Alamo rental car package that appears to be a good price. Has anyone used Allegiant to reserve a rental car from Alamo?

The packages are not always better than using coupons/codes. How big of a savings is it?

I just used this combo for the week of the 9th...It was a good transaction...the only thing I would recommend is watching out for the xtra driver fee(9.99aday)...I read here that you could get an xtra driver free with a walmart code...so consider that when you price them :teacher:

We are flying Allegiant at Easter. The price on the website for the rental car does not include taxes, fees, etc. You would have to call Alamo and find out what the additional dollars might be (could be $50+++). I was able to get a full-size from Dollar for 8-full days for a total of $250.

The Allegiant rate for Alamo worked out to be much cheaper than any other option. We wanted a minivan. The base rates with the rental companies were really high for our week in March (at least $450) - even with coupons/codes. Allegiant charged us $277 (base rate) for the week. That's pretty good for a minivan in Florida. Just check things out before you book with Allegiant. It will cost you to cancel a car with Allegiant.

I rented through Allegiant once and the price was good but the Alamo desk is long walk from the terminal. I had a compact for about 5 days and the fees at the counter were about $35.

Yeah, great rate with Allegiant....except...if you opt for insurance...that and Alamo's additional "fees"... will cost you just as much as the rental itself. So, be ready to double your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will NEVER do it again. I got such a fantastic price for a week with a full size car.....less than 200. My SIL works for Hertz and this price blew away her discounted price.
Things changed and we added another person to our trip, so when I got the Alamo counter (which is a LONG walk after a long day) I asked about an upgrade to a van. They kept quoting me prices like $500 this or $750 that. I said, I just want to know how much more. I am already paid. I think he said for $100 more I could get a Van and he would work some magic, since the Van was supposed to be more. Ok, I was tired, this would work out great. I got my paperwork, got the van andpicked up the family and loaded luggage. As we pulled out the check out gate area, I noticed the the cost was actually $250 more. I asked the attendant, and he explained that the taxes were not added before. What a shocker. I did not know this, and even if I did, who knew it would be $150 more for taxes. That fantastic deal, was NOT such a great deal. Thank goodness I was able to pay this. Years ago, when I traveled I went with the minimum amounts of money, with a credit card that may not of had a high limit. I would've been crying.
