Alamo rates have gone down

I just checked Alamo's rates again for our up coming trip. They appear to have gone. Last week when I checked the base rate for a Mini Van was up at about 700 its no down to 350.

This is great. I just posted Sunday that I had gotten down to $137 USD and after reading above post got it down to $104 USD for Mid-Size Sept 21 to 28. Now to try again for the Vegas trip in October.

Most cars have gone down in price...it is the minivans that keep staying so high for me! Of course with 4 kids I have no choice! I did find a good deal at Simply Wheelz but I'm still hoping/wishing that Alamo or National will drop to make things easier at the airport.

We got a nice deal on a minivan at Dollar by using the Southwest airline code. Total price was around $315 for a week. You'll need to get a Southwest Rapid Rewards number which is free, and then use corporate code SW2358.

Minivan rental prices went down!!!! At Alamo with the walmart code and the $25 e coupon.......10 days for $215 (including all taxes etc!!) In Comparison National is at $223 with the $35 coupon and the AAA/CAA rate.

What time period are you travelling? I tried Alamo again for October and still got a total of $400/week.

It was 3 weeks to go yesterday....that is when the rates dropped for me. The day before they were still over 4-$500 or more....so keep trying as it gets closer.

Did you try using the KISSE code for Dollar? I was getting $199 per week with that code....for me it was the extra 3 days I needed that made it over $300.

Just made the switch to use the KISSE code. Thanks a lot!! I had tried it before but together with the Southwest code and didn't see an additional reduction. Didn't think to try it by itself.

According to Mousesavers it says it is unknown how long the KISSE code will last. If I book using that code now, is it locked in?

Yep... it is locked in. Just print off your confirmation and bring it with you.

That's an amazing price!! Did you have a code of some type when you booked that? We're going in 3rd week of Dec, and ned a mid-sized.

We are now down to $83 USD

Used the code 430710 and the $25 off 1 week rental coupon from the Alamo web site. Check the Transportation Board. There are current threads on car prices there.
