Alamo rate

I got an economy car for 4 days at $118.61. I chose Alamo because of the 3 day Park Hopper offer. I've been reading how people then cancel their Alamo car and go elsewhere for a cheaper rate, but I thought this rate was pretty good. Advice? I feel funny about cancelling my Alamo car, but if I can go cheaper...??

It is a 3 day hopper with one plus. I believe it is about 170.00.

Alamo seems to have pretty good rates right now, but I have never used them.

I reserved a SUV for 8-7 thru 8-14 for $216.

Just a caution, you might find that they will not accept mixed coupons and codes, even if they accept them online.
I would give them a call first.

You are right again Gail. Alamo would not accept a mixed code/coupon when I called them. The rate ended up almost 25% more.
National does appear to accept a mix (according to the reservation person I booked with)-used Priceless code and entertainment coupon $20 off.

National is the only one that allows mixing of coupons and codes/contract numbers.

thanks for the heads up. I guess I will be renting one Full size from National for $207 and the other SUV from Alamo for $208.

Hopefully something else comes out by one of these car places that makes this easier.

I just wanted to share this information.

I called Alamo today and asked about using my disney visa rate code with a sam's club coupon.

Debra asked if I already had the confirmation# which I gave her and she looked at it and said that it went through and she does not see any problem using the rate code to get the associate ID discount and the discount coupon. She said as long as I have the confirmation# and the coupon at the counter that there should be no problem.

She checked with a supervisor and they said there is no rule or restrictions about using the Sam's Club coupon with the Visa rate code as long as the system accepted it, they would honor the confirmation.

I'm still not sure if I will try it. My husband prefers a smooth vaction and said he is willing to pay the extra not to run into any hassles.

I also asked that very same question today and I was told "no", the agent will catch it at the counter. Guess it depends on who you talk to.
