Yesterday, I tried to add my quick silver number to my reservation and the rate went up 150.00. I was told when you add you number you have to pay the rates that are valid that day. Did anyone ever hear of this?

I was able to add my number without a rate change. At first the agent tried to give me the higher price, but hen I objected he gave me my lower rate. Try again!

Thanks, I am going to call today and complain, of course the first person I spoke to wasn't going to increase my rate but then the next day my husband received an email with the big increase.

I mentioned to DH that I was thinking of signing up for one of the rental car clubs to be able to skip going to the counter. There's a free offer for membership, so why not?

He said that I might not get the lowest rate because I would be considered a loyal returning customer, where as, a lower rate might be offered to someone who is a brand new customer.

I tried entering the AARP discount one time, just out of curiosity, to see what the rental rate would do. The price went up.

Just something to think about. Not sure what to do.

We joined quick silver a couple months AFTER making our reservation. I called their 800 number, the agent put our QS # on the reservation and we kept the same rate. Keep calling as they can and have given the original, lower rate.

Every day is different, rates change. I was able to signup for QS and so happen to get a better deal than my original. Not becuz of QS, just happened to be the day I started to use it. It is the codes that give rates, day to day, not QS.

I dont think what your DH said is true at all. Not from what I have seen from Alamo. JMHO
