Alamo or Avis from National Airport

We will be flying into Sanford Airport on December 8 and don't arrive until 9:00 pm. Right now my car rental choices are Avis and Alamo. Alamo is $98 and Avis is $110 to have the car until December 12.

Does anyone have a recommendation between these 2 companies?

I would really appreciate any feedback about Avis/Alamo and/or Sanford.

I've had good and not-so-good experiences with all car rental companies. So I always go with the cheapest option.

I appreciate your saying this because I do think it is true. I start reading posts on one company and get worried but then you can find similar posts on all the other companies that say the same things.

I have used Alamo with no problems last year, but from WDW not at Sanford. Don't forget both are in the entertainment book

Personally, I've heard so many bad Alamo customer service stories that I avoid them on general principles. Stuff like pushing the "insurance" or paying to upgrade to a larger car when they didn't have the size you reserved available.
Never had a problem with Avis.

I have rented from both. I pay extra to avoid Alamo now. (You know those Hertz commericals where they give the customers stress balls, horses etc... those really aren't no name rentals, its ALAMO! LOL!)

I've always used Alamo (although never in Orlando) and never had a problem--no pushy insurance, friendly staff. I've booked them for my trip through Sanford in 2 weeks.

Ive had my belly full of Alamo. Many times ive receved old and DURTY cars and have had to wait in 1hr+ lines. Avis seems to be quick and have marginal cars.
