How far is the walk from PPH to the Alamo car rental in Downtown Disney? Does anyone have any rental advice/experience with that Alamo?
We will also be dropping off a Hertz rental at the Downtown Anaheim Marriott location at 700 West Convention Way. Is it a fairly easy/safe walk from that Hertz to PPH?

PPH to Alamo is less than 1/4 mile according to Google Maps. Marriott to PPH is just shy of a mile. I've never walked that direction, always just been on Harbor Blvd which I've always found to be safe, even walking alone with a 7 year old at midnight.

From the map programs I looked at-the Marriott is not too bad of a walk back but I was hoping to hear from someone who had rented from Hertz before or made that walk. This is our first DLR trip so I have no clue about the area! I read an old Trip Advisor forum that said the Katella Ave Hertz offers a shuttle back to the Disney hotels so I am going to call and check on that in the morning but would love to hear anyone's experience with Hertz in the Anaheim area!

I'm also interested. We were thinking about a 1 day rental to go to KBF but we won't have a car and are coming from the GCH. The DTD prices aren't great so hopefully the other offers better rates and a shuttle! If you find anything can you update us too?

I will update when I hear back from Hertz!
I know I have read the DTD Alamo is usually higher priced compared to the other rental locations not on Disney property but I found really good rates for our dates with my Costco membership. We plan on using Alamo to get to the airport at the end of our trip but from home Hertz has the best prices so I need to find a Hertz for the Anaheim drop off! :)

We just rented from the DTD Alamo over Labor Day weekend and it was a mostly pain free experience! We got a compact Nissan Sentra and picked it up from the lot right behind the Alamo. They let us bring it back without putting gas in for a really low fee, like 9 bucks! We took advantage of that for sure! As it turns out, we only used a half a tank going to the beach one day and Universal Studios the next. I reserved and pre paid months before we left, and it was no issue at all to adjust the bill to accommodate the extra gas charge and a change in insurance coverage. It is a small location with only 2 people working the desk, so I would definitely recommended getting there first thing. We meant to, but got there at 11 or so and had to wait in an unorganized 'line' for about 20 minutes. Oh- I think we paid 180.00 or so for two days. Have fun planning!

We've dropped off there several times. Super easy. Just park anywhere in the lot closest to DTD/AMC Theater and take the keys into the rental office. Its right next to Earl of Sandwich.

We used the Hertz on W Katella, we were staying at Residence Inn on Clementine so it was less than 10" walk. It saved us $200 by not having a car for 2 of the 7 days we were there! Super easy, though they are only open business hours, so if you needed a really early or late pick up or drop off, that wouldn't work

We rented a standard car (Chevrolet Cruze) from the DTD Alamo before and it was a good/hassle-free experience. It's located at the building right across the Disneyland Hotel - if you're coming from DTD to DH, then to your left; if coming from DH area looking towards DTD, then the first building on the right. The sign isn't the most noticeable so we got lost trying to find the location back then. But other than that, everything else is good. We used the car to travel from Anaheim to LA plus 3 or 4 days of driving around LA. The drop off location/experience at LAX was also great. Love that the shuttle area is right beside where we dropped the car off so we didn't have to walk long. As long as there weren't any issues during your rental period, it should be straightforward and easy.
