Hard to say without nowing what kind of a car it is.

I have a convertable booked for 8 days for 241.79
and another, just in case more than it can hold show up, full size for 8 days for 190.32.
I ran a mock reservation with National for 8 days for a full size and found one for 178.13.

For your dates, I used the codes for SWA Rapid Rewards members, just join, its free and you don't even have to fly with them to use this. I got a rate for your dates for a full size car of 310.06.

Keep shopping, and check www.mousesavers.com for codes and coupon leads.

15 days for about $300, that's $20 a day on average. Not bad, really. The only way that's a bad deal is if the car is an economy or compact. Anything bigger, I'd say it's good!

sorry i forgot to say it was for a compact car.
I guess i should keep looking around.
thanks for your help

The codes on mousesavers.com really help. I booked a car with Alamo on 5/1 for a week (6/9 - 6/16), compact car and i used an association id & rate code. That got me a base rate of $103.50, $140.32 after all the taxes.

I got that newsletter thing in the mail from BankOne's Disney Visa the other day. There is a coupon in there for Alamo. Receive up to 20% off and get one free day for a rental of 5 days or more. So I gave it a try for my trip to San Francisco (not very good), and then for my trip to WDW. This is what i got:
Base rate = $110.16 less $15.74 for coupon. That's $94.42! add the taxes and it comes to $129.71. The best part is that it is for a MIDSIZE. So, if you get this newsletter and are going to Disney, USE THIS COUPON! I don't know why it wasn't very good when i tried it for SanFrancisco. Maybe this is Disney realated?? I tried taht one frist b/c I must have a midsize or full size for that trip.

Good luck in your search!

Gail,

My 8 days for a full size through National is running $274. What codes did you use to get the $178 rate? Thanks.

We got a compact car for Nov16-22 for $160 tax and all from Dollar. Check mousesavers and keep looking on here for codes. I got $30 after using a code I found on here. Remeber you can always cancel your old reservation after making the new cheaper one!!!

Entertainment coupon and contract Id 6600330 (anyone can use this, it is from priceless vacation. ). No rate code, I let National do that.

Do you know what your weekly rate is for the full size? I have a full size reserved 9/10-9/20 with the same codes as you have, and am getting about 263. after all is said and done. I tried clearing my cookies, but have gotten the same quote for the past few months. BTW, I am picking up at 11 am, dropping at 3:00 pm, so I think it counts as a full 11 days. Do you get the same #'s? Thanks- you and MadfortheMouse (?) are my WDW gurus!

I used the priceless vacation contract code 6600330 and the entertainment coupon. I did not put in a product code. Often, that raises the rate.

Hi,
The weekly rate is 158.99 and the extra days are 26.50.
I have the car for exactly 8 days.

With the lack of customer service and poor employee attitudes any rate at Alamo is too much....

I think you can do better. I have the following reservations with National for 6/16-6/30:

Int car on EA, contract code 6600330, coupon code 10009013 (BJ's avail online, $20 off), total (inc. taxes and fees) for 2 weeks is $244.60. If you are willing to go to the airport mid-trip, you can probably shave another $20 off that by making 2, one week ressies and printing out the BJ's code twice. I have those ressies also and the grandtotal for the 2 weeks is 232.87 (there is a price change during that time, so the 1st week is $111.63 and the 2nd week is $121.23). Haven't decided if it's worht a 2nd trip to the airport to save $12...need to see what's on the EA before I decide.

do you need to be a member of BJ to get the coupon and the contract #. If not how can i get the coupon.

when I try the code it save me over $70.

thanks for the help.

Go to their website. Do a search.

I was concerned about using the BJ's coupon without having a membership. When I asked the manager at my sister's local BJ's club (where she is a member but I am not) if it was OK to use the coupon, he said yes, that since BJ's does not require you to be a member to shop there (they charge a fee if you aren't), it was OK to use their travel coupons, which are freely available in a booklet in the store or online at bjs.com FYI, I used the coupon at BWI last week with no problems.
