from sanford for 2 weeks from 2/7- for a 7 seater dodge caravan or similar.

It seems very expensive -almost what we paid for 3 weeks last august

Can anyone assist please?

I'm finding the prices higher too even though Alamo/Brits is usually 10% cheaper. We go end of April for 16 days and may end up with a compact whereas last time we had the 7 seater. There's only 2 of us this time both ways from the airport then 4 later on. Will keep looking for deals but would imagine the $ rate doesn't help .:sad1:

What price you getting?
Prices are stupid this summer, best I can see with a quick look is Netflights at £466 less 5% Quidco = £443 but you can't cancel and get full refund with them if a better deal shows up, booking so far in advance I like to be able to cancel, I usually book my cars about a month before flying.

I couldn't see any prices under £500, some even over £700.
I'm a bit of a worry guts Wayne, and like everything done way in advance.
Booking 5 months before travelling is leaving things late for me!!!

Car rental is nearly always the last thing I do, for our trip next month I just booked a few days ago, even then I have booked on a deal I can cancel.

I went with Alamo for July, but Virgin car hire were cheaper then Alamo Brits and anywhere else when I was looking. :)

Virgin were reasonable for my dates in Mar/Apr, slightly cheaper than Alamo.co.uk but cashback (12%) shaved a few £ off at Alamo.co.uk plus the free additional driver swung it, without the extra driver deal I would probably have gone with Virgin

The Virgin price included one free driver too, also when I telephoned flying club to book their price was £20 cheaper then the online price. Not sure why but it was £20 more for me :yay:

Does it say free driver on Virgins site? missed that if it does. Although I also don't know Virgins cancellation policy, with Alamo.co.uk I can cancel upto 7 days before if I see anything better.

Just checked and the free driver is if you book before 28th February and choose the fully inclusive package which includes all insurance but not petrol. It also says no cancellation fees on the web site but can't see anything on the confirmation I got. I did Alamo save time and chose the tank of fuel on there which get estimate at around $40, instead of the £100 upgrade required with Virgin :)

finally conceded all 7 seaater prices are ridiculous (not as patient as wayne on the waiting game!)
convinced dh though extras for roadside not needed-so booked svu for just under £350 with virgin.

Glad you are sorted. We needed a 7 seater as 6 of us! We went with Virgin. I really looked about and found their January offer way better than anything else I could find. We needed the additional driver, so it being free helped also managed to get the sat nav package which we weren't going to bother with as it was expensive elsewhere! So, I'm a happy chappy!

ps - did you book your accom at Universal yet?

Another big thumbs up for Virgin from me too ........... We've found them cheaper for standard SUVs on our past 4 trips ............. Always booked when their free driver offer is on too so excellent value for money. Normally around £350 for a standard SUV for the 2 weeks.

Yes, there's only 4 of us-but all adults and I don't travel light;
It will be a change having a smaller car-but it's still not small, is it?!

And yes, we've booked one night club level at rpr-we are happy bunnies too.
