Hi---just wanted to chime in with my Alamo experience yesterday when booking my rental for Sept 8-15
It has always been my understanding that I need to tell the system that I am going to have the car for a complete week, and maybe a week and 30 minutes to get the best rate. So yesterday I made my ressie for exactly one week to the minute and used my Sams Club coupon that was mailed to me. My rental cost somewhere around $150 for the entire week. Not bad, down from my previous ressie of $160 (all tax incl) for the same time.
Then I got to thinking about it...what if they nail me at the time I check in for not having the car for the entire week? I have heard stories on this board that they sometimes do that. (I need the car from 5-ish on Sat afternoon til only 11-ish on the following Sat morning)
So, I plugged in my info again, put in the exact times that I would need the car (which is 6 1/2 days technically) and the cost came back at $130 (incl tax) for the week)
I just wanted to let everyone know this---as it has always been my understanding that it was the cheapest if you told it you needed it for the entire week.
BTW I am using ID #7013836 and coupon code AD2707DDP and I am renting out of Sanford.
Two weeks from today, we will be seeing the Doodlebops at MGM! Hooray!
