I'm using ME to get from the Airport to WDW but I just reserved a car, with pickup and drop off at Buena Vista Palace in DTD, for three days at $10/day. Total with taxes and fees is just under $45 :cool1:. The link, courtesy of Fatwallet forum) is:

This deal ends 9/28 - the Ad say 9/21 but it's been extended a week - my dates are 9/24 - 9/27 so if anyone needs a car for a couple of days over a weekend before then, I don't think you'll find anything for less. Alamo Weekend Rentals

Economy and Compact: $10/day
Midsize: $14/day
Fullsize: $18/day
Premium: $20/day

* Economy through Premium size cars
* Valid between 8/20/09 - 9/21/09 (and potentially 9/28)
* Pickup as early as 9am Thursday
* Keep Saturday overnight
* 1-day minimum, 4-day maximum rental (96 hours)
* Return by Monday 11:30pm

WARNING:
If you want to keep your car for more than 4 Days / 96 hours, that standard rates apply for the ENTIRE WEEKEND RENTAL.

Example: If you want to rent your car at 9am Thursday, you need to return it by 9am Monday morning. If you keep it until 5pm Monday, Alamo will not prorate the deal, and you'll pay full price. Luckily, the website will show you the higher rates as soon as you try to book it.

Ahhhhh... I need it end of October... I cannot find anything less than $20ish per day... closer to $30 actually and I have tried bidding, priceline, hotwire, all those contract IDs, codes, etc... I need to get something cheap!

Well, keep an eye out, maybe it'll be extended further. And do sign up for their e-mails - I've just done so for several of the rental companies. I don't rent often but it's time to start keeping up with deals as the norm so we can find one when we need one! Good luck!:goodvibes

WOW, a million thank you's! I was able to get the weekend rate with the link you provided and just saved myself $50.00. I already had a $20 weekend rate, but $10 is much better. THANKS :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Thank You! :thumbsup2
Thank You! :love:

I was able to drop my rate a bit more for our trip over Labor Day weekend.
:thanks:

We'll be needing a car for 2 days in Sept. Base rate of $20 but taxes/fees added are $14 more. What's that, around 70%?
It's almost the full amount of the car!
Still cheaper than anything else out there though!

Well, but some of the fees are percentages and some are fixed amounts - in both cases, per day. So if the, I dunno, rental recovery fee is $2 per day, there's $6 right there; doesn't matter if the rental itself costs $10 per day or $100 per day.

Great rate! It only works (at least for me) if you rent and return from the same location. Could not rent from the airport and return to the Swan/Dolphin. Just thought I'd point that out. :)

Yes I'm aware of that but it's still a racket. Everyone has their hand in the pot.(state, county, airport, etc.)

I found this last night and booked a car for next weekend. $51 after taxes for Friday night through Monday afternoon. I thought about taking a shuttle from the airport to Dolphin and then using Disney transportation. Even after paying for parking, this will still be cheaper.

Oh, I agree! I've got a rental in Las Vegas in a couple of months (yes, I keep checking and hoping for price drops :teeth: ) where the taxes and fees add another 50% to the rental rate - but I have to have a car out there.
