I am considering doing this one since it is a lot less money and I have heard not so great things about BB and the amount of people in the sitting area, has anyone done this recently is the food good? We would prob get chicken or meat lasagna, I know people have said the reserved area is pretty good for the parade but maybe not fireworks??

We chose to do the Aladdin's Oasis PTN package for our trip last month (March 23rd) and we were happy with our decision. The price is less expensive than a dinner, the food was pretty good, and we all thought the viewing area up by IASW was great! Plus, we didn't have to stake out a spot 3 hours earlier...this was the big reason we decided to go with the PTN package.

Our lunch reservation was for 12:15 and they had no problem seating us a bit early at 12:00. We chose the meat lasagna and the grilled chicken. Good sized portions. Both came in a portioned tray with a side salad, roll, a small dessert, and a drink of your choice. It is not gourmet food, but we ate it all! You could choose to take your food with you or be seated in the shady area in the back. We chose to eat there. The Fastpasses were given to us when we paid for the lunches.

As for the viewing location, we found it to be far less crowded than what we expected and did not have to stand. It is in the slightly elevated area to the right of the street as you are looking at IASW. We were told to be at the Alladin Viewing sign (to the right of IASW) no earlier than 8:00 for the 8:45 PTN parade. We showed up closer to 7:45 and they had already let people in to the reserved area but there were plenty of places to stand or sit. Our view was a head-on look of IASW, which was perfect for the parade, the projection show, and the fireworks burst in the air just to the left of IASW. I could take pictures of the projection show on IASW and have the fireworks in the same frame.

In my opinion, if you are OK with not seeing fireworks over the Castle, the price is right for a decent meal and a reserved spot for good PTN/fireworks viewing! :)

Thanks!! We can always choose to watch fireworks a different day also, we have never seen the characters fly around the castle so we can watch it from there and another night in front of the castle since there is no F! I like that we will be able to sit too!! I think this it what we will do it will save a ton of money! And my son has informed me he wants to do a character meal which I hadn't planned on doing so the extra money can go toward that!

If you get there early enough, you will be able to get a spot right up front--it really is a good parade--Have fun!

I'm considering doing this for our trip this weekend, but I have a feeling they may cancel the Saturday parade because of the rain forecast, and even thunder? We have reservations for a LONG dinner event on Friday, we may cancel or change it, but they didn't have any other time for us to do it, so we may stick with it. This sounds a lot like the Holiday parade that we did the tour for, same area! But in that case, we had chairs to sit on, and no dinner, but a tour ahead of time, with hot chocolate, cookie & pin! It was fabulous!!

I have never made dining reservations before. Can I call or is it only online? What's their cancellation policy?
Thanks so much!

You can call or make them online. Most cancellations must be made by midnight the night before but some special packages might have a longer cancellation period.

I second this! We did the Aladdin package last Tuesday and had a really good experience. I feel you get great value for the price. My mom and I had the lasagnas (one of each) and both the meat and veggie were quite good. Overall I give it a thumbs up. We've done all of the other dining packages and this one wins for convenience and best parade spot. The viewing area is very large and spread out; you won't be squished in like BB. You definitely don't have to arrive early either. You'd be fine getting there 15 min early IMO. The best place to view fireworks is going to be Main Street and the Hub but that will require staking out a spot. IASW fireworks is definitely enjoyable and a great experience, but I put it second after a castle view.

We were VERY happy with the parade viewing area. The food was awful, like an airline meal. Seriously, just bad.
The seating area in Aladdin's Oasis is really a nice, quiet area to sit and chill away from crowds though. A real Oasis!

The early parade starts at Small World, the projections on the ride are so nice. I think it's worth it.
Zero hassle to watch the parade. We were right up front, sitting on the ground. No pushing or shoving. No drama. All calm.

I've been unable to secure a BB PTN package, so I think I'm gonna go with Aladdin's Oasis despite my reservations about the food quality.

My question is:

If we choose the to see the second showing of the parade (10:45pm on Sunday, May 8th) will this even be necessary? It sounds like it's much easier to find viewing for the second parade... (we just aren't sure we want to be up that late).

I just booked this for an upcoming trip by phone as the website wouldn't work. I was given a choice of picking up our meals at lunch if we wanted the earlier parade time and dinner if we wanted the later parade time. Was this the case for everyone else? I hadn't read that on the boards yet so I wanted to be sure.

Last summer we stepped in right behind a group on Main Street right before the first parade, moved into the street for the fireworks with the crowd, then grabbed an awesome spot for the second parade while the crowd was dispersing. I thought it was easy enough.

I did the BB PTN package and then a couple days later saw the fireworks, etc from IASW. I was a first timer to DL and would recommend seeing it from IASW in a heartbeat. Main Street is awesome at WDW but at DL wtih how short the castle it's barely visible so you are turned sideways watching the projections on the side of the buildings with trees in the way. Not a fan. The view from IASW was AMAZING and MAGICAL. I LOVED seeing the projections here and it still snowed in this area. Also some if not most fireworks were set off from Toontown which is directly behind IASW so they were literally right there with much better view. I don't understand why most like Main St. but I guess we are all different and have our opinions. I can't speak for the food, but the view is FAB! Do it.

It's not necessary. Even the earlier time if you show up one hour early at IASW you can grab a spot next to the rope for the people who are in line to ride. After the parade is over if directly in front of IASW and facing IASW move FAR RIGHT. The people sitting on the ground there are left of the trash can. You'll see them move into the street when the parade is done. Follow this crowd and move far right. You can catch a spot on the railing of IASW to watch projections. A cast member was sitting beside us and told us this trick. Worked like a charm! My boys were able to sit at the railing with no one in front of them and watch the projections. ***this was the offseason - not sure of on season but it was a Friday night****

We found out the latest reservation you can make for the early parade is 3:45pm. Anything after that is for the second parade at 10:45. We had made reservations for lunch earlier for BB, so we decided we would take the 3:45 reservation for the first parade, and just take the meals to our hotel room and eat them when we're ready. We'll have small kids with us, so the later parade wasn't really an option.

Thank you for this I may need to change my time!

We just did this today and I was very unhappy with the outcome. The meal was just ok, and they started seating over 15 minutes before they said they would, so when we got there early it was actually late! There were no front row seats left, and the front was mostly taken up with strollers. The seats behind were either too far or not high enough to see past the strollers. We ended up walking out and got a front row street on the bricks across from the oasis viewing area. But it was a complete waste of money!
