We will have one day in CA in October. I want to see all of the shows, but I don't think I can swing it and get a break in the middle of the day for the kids. Which one would you get rid of? I have heard that Aladdin is amazing, but I think my kids will love Disney Jr. and the Pixar Parade. They are 6.4. and 2. What do you think? Thanks!

I have two kids, 3.5 and 2. I have heard Aladdin is great, but we have never been because I don't think my kids would sit through it just yet. They absolutely love the parades, and have also enjoyed the Disney Jr show because they recognize the characters. So my vote would be those two, based on the ages of your kids. If you do the Disney Jr show, however, I would be sure to be toward the front of the line to get spots closer to the front by the stage. We sat way back and it was really hard for my kids to see.

I agree, nix Aladdin. Yes, it is amazing but it will eat up at least an hour of your day, probably more. We will be there with DS6 in November and while I would love to see the show again, I just don't know if he will like it enough to take so some much time out of our day. I've never seen the Disney Jr. show but we watch the characters on TV so we will try to do that one, plus it's shorter.

You may want to also check out Turtle Talk with Crush in the Animation Building. Really cute interactive show that the kiddos and adults will enjoy. Plus it's a good place to escape the crowds.

Have fun!

While I did enjoy seeing Aladdin, it is long (45 minutes, plus the time waiting), so I would also probably opt to forgo that one. I went with an almost three year old to see it, and while she did fine with the length of the show, some of the elements did scare her (she was sniffling through most of the final confrontation) and she ended up in her mother's lap for most of the show. She'd seen the movie, but I suppose seeing things for 'real' is different.

The good thing about Aladdin is you can use it as a break in the middle of the hot day. My 3year old LOVED it. If you ask a CM to sit at the end of the row you can always leave without distracting anyone.

It's pretty great and if you aren't going to get to see it on Broadway this is the closest you will see to it.

Just a fyi...the Disney Junior show is puppets. That being said it is great! But when we went there were some disappointed kids/parents sitting behind us who thought the characters would be lifelike.

I love, love the Pixar parade! :thumbsup2 To get a good spot you probably have to stake it out at least 30 min in advance, and with small children it is great to get curbside so heads, other people, strollers are not in your sight line.

We personally loved Aladdin, but with limited time if you had to skip one, I also vote for this one.

Have a magical time!

In October the hours will be shorter.

Can you make Aladdin your mid day break?

I could think about it. It is our last day of the trip and we plan to be there for WOC, so I think my kids will need a good rest/nap in the afternoon to make it to the end! Thanks for all of your advice, everyone! I figure if we miss Aladdin this time, we can hit it up in 5 years when the kids are bigger.
