Al Lutz Update Today: News on Fantasmic, DCA Preview Center and New Parade

Ooh, maybe that's why Nestle's response to my email about Mickey Bars told me they were NOT looking into changing their recipe for them. They knew what was coming down the road....

Though Krispy Kreme used the same wording about their use of corn syrup solids, and that had nothing to do with disneyland or nestle. :upsidedow

no kidding huh??? but whats more amazing than that is that people think they single handedly were able to get it implemented???? yeah thats right...you were the ONLY one who thought about that in all the millions of visitors and Disney just thought because 1 person wanted it then they should go ahead and get right on that..so for sure you should sue....they OWE you!!!:lmao: :rotfl2:

Wait, so you mean that when I casually mentioned to my mom that they should bring the submarines back, that there wasn't a undercover Disney person writing down what I said? Should I drop my lawsuit then? :rotfl:

Well now that they've figured out a way to stop the lawsuits from people, I think you'll have to drop it. Now if you'd filed when they announced the subs were coming back you may have a case. :rotfl:

The saddest thing of all is that we're even having this discussion. As silly as this sounds, all it takes is one dumb jury (easy enough to find one of those) and Disney would actually have to pay some idiot who thinks that because Disney implemented some idea that they'd tossed around before he even came up with it.

I never knew there was a full McDonalds inside the park. I only was aware of the two french fry stands.

I still remember our first trip to DL as a family when my husband and I got into it over $4 fries. I bought them from one of the stands, and he pitched the biggest fit ever. I even remember telling him I would call my mom and have her deposit $10 in our account to cover those and any future pack of fries if I decided I wanted more during the trip. The french fry argument continued until way after we left the park and were back in our hotel. Fortunately, he didn't do that on our last trip.

And I thought the “old” Fantasmic was excellent... :goodvibes

If Fantasmic's new digital projectors turn out to be as good as he says... wow!! :wizard:

“The difference in clarity and image size has been compared to watching old blurry home movies on a bed sheet, and then going and watching the same movies digitally cleaned up and shown on a 50 inch HD set.

Thus far, the Disneyland place-names Carnation Cafe and Carnation Plaza Gardens are still safe. Even though Carnation Ice Cream, yet another Nestle' owned brand, is now off the menu, the Disney lawyers have come to a tentative agreement with Nestle' that the names have historical significance that outweighs their association with a specific ice cream once served there.

Er, OK, but isn't that a form of false advertising?

Is Carnation Cafe serving another brand of ice cream now that Nestle is leaving? They have those gigantic banana splits and Matterhorn Sundaes on the menu so they have to put something in there. I am not even THAT big of a strawberry ice cream fan, but they brought us little mini sundaes and the strawberry ice cream was SO good at Carnation.

Heatherleigh, That amuses me about the french fries. As great as DL is for all of us and as special as it is to all of us to be there, we should start a whole new thread on this board about the various tiffs, fights and 'disagreements' we have all had with our families or companions at DL! We hate to admit it, because there is so much joy in being at the Happiest Place on Earth, but we all know it happens. There are just those moments where you or someone in your group is exhausted and someone starts getting snappy. Maybe it has been a long day and everyone is on each other's nerves. Maybe the kids are cranky because they are tired and they haven't seen Mickey yet. You start arguing about money, about what to ride next, where to eat next, what to buy, someone is too tired and wants to go back to the hotel, whatever. We all know we have had 'those moments' that take away from the magic just a little bit.

As it is now, it's really just a sterile cement canyon that bears little resemblance to any kind of garden.
Boy, they got that right.

1) I had no knowledge of Gardenwalk until I read that. :confused3 Guess they need to advertise a little. Still, DTD is right THERE, this one sounds too far to walk. Maybe provide a free shuttle or something.

2) Instead of ending written comments from guests, why can't they put a disclaimer at the top of the comment card? Something to the effect of you agree you will not be compensated for any ideas or suggestions given.

3) Now I know why Indie was closed all the time. If he was driving into walls, I guess I'm glad we only went on it once! :rotfl:

4) Didn't see any comment about a big building I saw being constructed there near CA. You could see it well from Mulholland Madness. Anyone know what that will be?

Am I the only one who's going to miss Ariel's Grotto?? I love the Tink idea, but we'll really miss Ariel!!!! I don't know who will be more sad... DD or DH :sad2: :sad1:

Maybe we should plan a quick trip to say goodbye ;)

They are adding onto the GCH with DVC (Disney Vacation Club) units. Maybe it was that?

The rumor mill says that Ariel will trade in her fins for feet and join the princesses at the PFF until they finish up a new super meet and greet location for her over by the new Little Mermaid attraction in DCA.

Thanks! That makes me feel a little better. I much prefer mermaid Ariel, so I hope she's not gone too long.

It's funny because on the earthquake thread we were joking about people asking for refunds that day, and I really didn't think anyone would. (ok, maybe a few, lol) I mean it's not like it was something Disney could control and all the rides were up and running within an hour or less.

I couldn't believe it when I read that the line to complain and request a refund stretched from City Hall, all the way down Main Street to Coke Corner!!!! :sad2:

My kids will miss Ariel too. My older son was afraid of her on our first visit, but she talked him into going over to her. It was so cute. She took the time to talk to him, telling him not to be afraid because she was a person. My younger one liked her right away as you can see by the pic: She was feeding him popcorn.
