can somebody explain what's the different btwn the views?

value room is smaller - you can views of the swimming pool, parking lot or savannah view

standard view is bigger room - only views of the swimming pool - okay some views of partial swimming pool but roof too

savannah views also have the bigger rooms -- what it says savannah view - these can be pretty far from the lobby

In Jambo House, the Standard View, Savanna View and Concierge 1BRs have a sleeper chair in addition to the sleeper sofa so they sleep 5, the Value 1BRs do not have a sleeper chair so they sleep 4. Kidani Village will have Standard View and Savanna View rooms (no Value rooms, no Concierge rooms) and all 1BRs in Kidani Village will have the sleeper chair so they will all sleep 5.

Depends of if you want to be able to sit out on the balcony and watch the animals. If that doesn't matter, reserve a standard view and save the points. There are several areas where you can go to view the animals.

the standard views are much closer to the lobby and bus stops than most of the savannah views.

also closer to the laundry mat - I know 1-bedroom has laundry closet - but the washer is bigger in the laundry mat just in case it is needed.

you can see the animals out of the big windows along all the halls - now these aren't in your room - so you need to be dressed to look at them.

I thought I would only sit on the balcony and enjoy the view if it was a savannah view. Once I had a value and it was a pool view, and I enjoyed sitting out there as well. It did surprise me, nice view of the pool.

We bought at AKV specifically for the savanna views, so we will book those. We are doing concierge level next September so that may or may not be a savanna view.

free food and drink. plus you can book the sunrise safari

it is locked away - you have to have a key to concierge to even get on this floor.

otherwise for me not alot.

the 3rd and 2nd floors have the best views of the animals - they are more in your face there.

6th floor where the concierge is located is just too high to really enjoy the animals (my opinion)

so stay on 5th floor in either a standard or value studio and go to the 3rd (lobby) or 2nd floor (of course sometime there is bushes in the way here) to view the animals.

the sunset safari anyone staying at AKL(V) can book this one. so if you want to book it do it quickly. it is not cheap.

Also, anyone have an idea how many of the CC rooms have a savanna view vs. other view? I know it's not guaranteed, but just wondering what my chances of getting the view I want are.

Yes they serve alcoholic beverages. Depending on the time of day they offer beer, wine and liqueurs. I'm not sure about the lounge hours, maybe 6:30am until 10pm?

AKV Concierge consists of five 2BR lockoffs. Three of them face the Sunset Savanna the other two face the pool area. A 2BR lockoff can be "locked off" and rented as a 1BR and a studio so there are at most 10 Concierge rooms (five 1BRs and five studios). More likely, at least one of those lockoffs is rented as a 2BR so there might be one 2BR, four 1BRs and four studios or maybe two 2BRs, three 1BRs and three studios.

Pat, I think even watching the animals from your balcony in your room you kind of need to be dressed ---there are cameras everywhere out there
