We are trying to decide where to stay for our trip in July. Is my understanding correct that a value may have a savannah view? Do you request or just get lucky? We are looking at a studio if we go by ourselves or a two bedroom if we can convince the grandparents to join us. Do the value 2 bedrooms sleep 9? Thank you.

Values: (a) only a small number exist and thus calling now for July may mean nothing is available; (b) a number are savanna view and you can request view but it is not guaranteed, others are parking lot or pool view; (c) the 2BRs sleep only 8; (d) they are significantly smaller than other units (that is why they are "value") and trying to put 8 (much less 9) in a 2BR is a really tight fit.

value - studio - dedicated - would be with pool or savannah.

lockout could be anything.

would agree with not getting a 2-bedroom value - everything is very close together.

a 2-bedroom standard (at Jambo) would be fine - you get a pool view.

of course the extra room at Kidani - bigger, better and more bathrooms - might also work with the worst view. Standard there is garden, drive way, or worst mall or US 192

Thanks for the quick replies. I don't know what I want to do or even who is going with me. I do know that it will be great whatever we decide.

Spiceycat, you have been so wonderful to answer so many of my questions all over the dis for several years. I think I am going to go post a question about the dining plan, do you answer over there too?

Values: (a) only a small number exist and thus calling now for July may mean nothing is available; yes, in fact we just returned from a trip and were told only 2 value rms (we were in a 2 BR) were savanna. (b) a number are savanna view and you can request view but it is not guaranteed, others are parking lot or pool view;We had a pool room view which was absolutely beautiful, incl the savanna backdrop behind the pool area. (c) the 2BRs sleep only 8; (d) they are significantly smaller than other units (that is why they are "value") and trying to put 8 (much less 9) in a 2BR is a really tight fit.

I didn't think the studio portion of our 2 BR was much smaller than an SSR studio (if smaller at all) and the "living" area was very close to the 2 BR at SSR we stayed in last NYE.

I agree that 8 in a 2 BR can be quite "cozy", but I also think it depends upon the "mix" of 8 and how much time you spend in the room. It certainly is no worse than 8 people in 2 studios, and is a heck of a lot less points than a GV. You can stay in a 2 BR value room for less points than 2 savanna studios, so you get to choose your priorities: view, kitchen included, total points, etc. I would absolutely stay in a 2 BR again, especially if traveling with kids. I like being able to at the end of a day put the kids to bed - or allow DH to "crash" early and then sit around with the rest of our crowd. Same goes for the AM - as long as the early risers are on the LR pullout, people can have different sleep routines. Plus sounds silly, I know but often for some reason 2 bathrooms available for 8 people works better than 1 bathroom per 4 people (in studios).
