Hi, I'm so happy, we are finally DVC members! We made our first reservation at AKV in a studio, we're doing the Dining plan so we figured we wouldn't need the full kitchen and we had previously been booked at a AKL standard view so the savannah feels like a nice upgrade.

Is there anything I should be aware of in regards to the studios? Any tips? How are the views? When we honeymooned at AKL we made sure we had a 3rd floor room to have a better view of the animals. Does the same hold true for Kidani (I imagine it would)?

It does hold true for Kidani. IMO, 3rd floor is the best for viewing. 2nd is 2nd :lmao:, then 4th, then 5th.

All are good though.

Just since we all love giraffes, we always request a Sunset Savannah view. Most of Kidani's SV rooms are on the Sunset, but some are on the Pembe (which does not contain giraffes, but are still good views from what I have heard on these boards).

Enjoy your stay, we LOVE AKV (which is why we bought there), IMHO it's the best resort in the system (EDIT: just my opinion btw) - but this is coming from someone who doesn't mind the bus rides and/or will have a car half the time. I also love the food choices there while it's not everyones cup of tea. THough since you honeymooned at AKV you have a feel.

If you can swing it, try Sanaa - fantastic restaurant.

Congrats! Just in case you can't find the blow dryer, it's in a drawstring bag hanging in the armoire. :thumbsup2

Great to hear. Giraffes are my son's favorite thing. He's a bit obsessed with them actually.

We love AKL too. Like I mentioned we honeymooned there so it's that much more special to us. One of the reasons we go is for the food. Jiko is my favorite restaurant, ever. We have reservations at Boma and Sanaa. We rarely eat "American" food, so it's right up our alley.

By taking this in context, I'd say you're speaking from experience. ;)

Thanks for the tip.

Congrats! When we bought at AKV I wasn't sure at first how important a Savanah view would be to me. We've tried both and I've found out it is really important to me. I really love mornings on the balcony way more than I thought I would, so SV is a must do for us.

I was going to tell you to try Sanaa but I see you already have reservations. :thumbsup2 We like Boma too, mostly for the zebra domes :goodvibes but its somewhere we can miss too.
