Can someone tell me the difference between a value and standard 1 bedroom at AKV? We have never stayed at AKV before and want to try it out, but don't quite understand the options. Thanks so much!

value = SIZE. value villas are smaller - they don't have the sleeper chair and value 1BRs have an occupancy limit of 4. value villas are only at jambo house. value villas can have a parking lot, savanna or pool view.

standard = VIEW. standard view is a non-savanna view (pool or parking lot). standard view 1BRs at kidani have 2 bathrooms and a sleeper chair for max occupancy of 5. standard view 1BRs at jambo only have 1 bathroom but still have the sleeper chair for max occupancy of 5 IIRC.

Just to note, you cannot request a view for a value villa, you just get what you are given. There are only 10 two bed lock-offs in Jambo house. We had one this year and it was fabulous. Much smaller that the Kidani villa that we had had the year before but we were given a savannah view which was great.
IMO it is the best value DVC villa on property, especially if you get Sav View.

Thanks for the information. Are the standard rooms at both a decent size? We would really like to stay at Jambo because of the proximity to food options. I'm fine with the one bathroom if that's the only difference.

Standard rooms will be the same size as savanna view rooms at both resorts. It's only the value view rooms that are smaller.

The Standard View and Savanna View rooms at Kidani are a bit larger than the rooms in those same booking categories at Jambo House but there are other differences that might matter to you. The master bathroom in the Kidani 1BRs have a separate whirlpool tub and a huge shower stall. The Jambo 1BRs have a combo whirlpool tub and shower. In Kidani, the master bath is attached to the master bedroom. In Jambo, a small hallway separates the two so you cannot move between the bedroom and bathroom in privacy. But since Jambo 1BRs have just the one bathroom, this arrangement allows anyone sleeping in the living area to access the bathroom.

I miss the easy access to The Mara (CS restaurant) when we stay in Kidani but it's only a 10-15 minute walk from even the furthest rooms in Kidani to any of Jambo's restaurants. If you are staying in a Standard View room in Kidani, you could even request to be close to Jambo House which would shorten the walk considerably.
