AKV Kidani Grand Villa at 7mo

So, looking at taking entire family and staying in Grand Villa at Kidani. Since BLT is our home resort, what would the odds of getting the Grand Villa in January at 7 months? Anybody had luck doing this before?

We had an OKW GV booked for late September of this year for 9 nights and wanted to switch at 7 months to either BLT or AKV, and at the seven month window both resorts had GVs available. We ended up booking BLT.

January is a relatively slow travel month, so I think your chances will be pretty good, as long as you aren't trying to book marathon weekend.

I own at DVC. what dates are you looking at and I can go online and try and book a reservation and see if still available at this time at least for you.

We stayed in an AKV GV last November. We booked it at 6.5 months out, 2 weeks inside of the 7 month booking opening. I was shocked to find that the Kidani GV was available for 8 consecutive nights, the Jambo one was available for 6. I wanted Jambo b/c we wanted 1 floor for my father in law who was coming off knee surgery, but the CM was confused and told me the Kidani GV's were 1 floor. I was new and trusted her, and booked it. About a month later somebody posted a TR with pics of the Kidani GV and my heart stopped b/c realized I had been given bad info by member services. When I called back the Jambo GV was booked.

Ultimately it worked out. My inlaws decided to come for the 2nd part of the trip when we were switching to BCV. We had 10 in the GV and it was not crowded. They are HUGE! Just beg, borrow and beg some more to be as close as possible to the lobby b/c we were in the 2nd to last building and was really a downer to have to do all that walking with 10 people, 5 kids, 3 strollers....etc...

To answer your original question, I would be shocked if you can't get one for January.

We were able to get a Kidani GV at 7 months for our October 2011 vacation. I had my choice of OKW, SSR and Kidani.

Probably good chance of getting one. One thing that I have noticed since on line booking began and we have been able to check availability is that the previously held belief that GVs book quickly 11 months out was a myth except for BWV. GVs at the other resorts have all usually been open at the 7 month window.

GVs at Kidani are located throughout the resort.

The Kidani GV's are placed thru out the resort and are the sections that have the raised peak above them. In this photo you can see 3 of them that are located in the wing closest to Jambo. 2 are side by side to the left center and the 3rd is at the very end of the wing:
