AKV Kidani - Coffee Makers & Soap

Hello all - In just under 3 weeks we'll be at AKV - Kidani for our first every WDW visit and DVC stay (AKV is our home resort). Trying to decide how much coffee to bring. So my question is, what size is the coffee makers in the rooms (we have a 1 BR). I want to bring the right size filters.

Also, is there any soap in the room. Hubby usually just uses whatever is provided, but if there isn't any, I need to make sure he has some

There will be a full size (10-12 cup) Mr Coffee style brewer in the room. You will need filters also which are the flat bottom (basket) style.

There will be soap (dish, bath & face) in the room along with small bottles of shampoo. They should be replaced on trash & towel and full cleaning days. You can also call housekeeping for more.

You will probably get one filtered package of coffee (Joffreys) each service day. Or you might get two. Or you might get one regular and one decaf. We had two regular in our villa at OKW (but we needed decaf so we bought Maxwell House filter packs). You may have a basket of coffee creamer and sugar with the coffee. That's what we had at OKW.

Each sink will have a bar of soap. Shower will also have soap. Plus you'll get a bottle of shampoo, bottle of conditioner and bottle of shower gel for each bathing location (tub or shower).

Thanks for the information. I'm not a coffee drinker, my husband is and he drinks it black. We plan on bringing a few filters (those are what we use here at home) and we'll be putting some coffee in a ziplock bag, just enough for the 3 or 4 mornings that he'll need it. These won't really add weight to our luggage so I'm not worried. I will, however, double bag the coffee LOL don't want it to spill in the luggage, UGH!

We will be checking in around 6 PM or so on Wednesday, and checking out early on Sunday. That calculates to T & T on Saturday? I think I've read that T&T are day 4 and the day you check in is day 1, that means that they'll service our room the day before we leave at 8 in the AM, as we're driving down to Ft. Lauderdale to embark on a cruise. So we can just ask them no T&T on day 4 since we're checking out early the next morning?

Just so you know, in T&T day at Kidani a couple days ago, I didn't receive any restocking of kitchen supplies-no coffee, creamer, sugar. This had also happened at OKW 6 months ago, at which time I called DVC to verify the policy. A manager called and assured me that coffee, sugar, and creamer is supposed to be restocked, so I noticed (and though it was a small thing) I called and got more this week. So don't be surprised if there isn't any, and if not, DO call because it IS DVC policy to restock coffee.

We just leave the Do Not Disturb sign on our door when we don't want to have any service and they always honor that. They will call and leave a message on your room phone (at least they did for us) to say that they honored our request for privacy and that if we needed anything to just call housekeeping.
