AKV Jambo House - 2BR Villa Renovated (Video on YouTube) & Questions

So I just came upon this recent video that was uploaded 1/21 showing a 2BR Villa @ AKV Jambo.

WOW that is a stunning renovation.

I was looking at a page that showed renovation schedules for DVC Resorts. DVC-News Link Here

I noticed that AKV isn't scheduled for a Full Refurb until 2023. Is the room in the video part of DVC or is for the block of non-DVC rooms? I would love to stay in a renovated room, if they have it for my stay in Dec 2023.

Anyone have any info on renovations coming, aside from the chart on the link above?

We stayed in a 1BR Value at Jambo this past July and our room was not renovated. I did not think any of the rooms had been renovated there for DVC. I agree the room in that video is stunning!

This appears to be one of the AKV Jambo hotel rooms and not a DVC Villa.

Ah dang--I wonder if they will renovate the DVC Villas to have the same aesthetic. I definitely love the more modern (albeit more generic) design compared to the current look (admittedly, I am only seeing it on video than in person)

Yeah that is def not a Villa. That is a suite.

The suite does look nice - but all the 2 br. DVC villas at Jambo are lock offs & the suite in the video had 2 real beds rather than the 1 bed + sofa the villas have in the non master bedroom, plus there’s no kitchen in the living room area in the suite in the video. The master bathroom layout is a lot different in the suite pictured v. the villas.
When they do the 2023 renovations I hope they keep some form of the jacuzzi tubs - I really like them although I know some don’t because they find them awkward to get in/out of - altho’ if they axe them I’d save a fortune since we wouldn’t need to visit the Basin store for bath bombs anymore

^ I am one who definitely hopes for a stand alone shower in the one bedrooms at Jambo! I was able to book HA with a roll in shower in July. It will be our first stay in Jambo in quite awhile.

Yes, that combo shower/tub is not easy to get in/out of!

And with no grab bars at all! I have missed Jambo, but come July, we have 4 nights in that 1 bedroom HA with roll in shower, savannah view, I can’t wait!

We'll be there in June, but in the value. I'll deal with the shower because we love it there!

I can’t imagine the DVC refurbs to be much different in look and style to the hotel room updates surely?

One would think so, although if I recall correctly the Poly hotel rooms were recently renoed differently than their DVC studios... could be wrong

Hmmmm - now AKL has mid-century african? No thanks. I will cross fingers AKV stays similar to what it is.
