AKV - construction noise?

I called MS today to book an AKV SV studio for May 2008 and the CM read me the standard "construction noise" statement. Once Jambo House is finished (supposedly by Feb 08?) I wonder if construction noise from Kidani will be a problem at Jambo. I would love to hear from DVCers who have stayed at AKV regarding construction noise there. tia

stayed in Sept - no noise problem for me. Really think Jambo house might be finished sooner.

also they are really making progressive on the Kidani section -some of it MIGHT open next year. No guaranteeds.

I was just there Dec 1. No noise at all because it was a Saturday.

We checked in on the 8th, and there was construction going on. We were surprised, we did notice nothing on Sunday. Did notice the noise when on the balcony on Saturday. We left the room around 3 no noise at night to bother us.

I posted a thread about this not to long ago called AKV Construction Question. I am also going around that time and read on the boards here that the construction wil be going on 24 hours starting in January. Everyone here seems to think it won't be a huge impact.

Sorry I missed your original thread.
The CM I spoke with said the noise would be on weekdays and not at night. Nothing about 24-hrs or pipe noise. Maybe she was reading the statement for the current refurbishing noise at Jambo instead of the upcoming Kidani schedule. I'll call MS again and check.

I spoke with a CM at MS today and she said they've been told there will be ongoing construction noise at AKL/AKV. She had no specific knowledge of 24-hour work, and neither did her supervisor.

Ah in true Disney fashion conflicting reports emerge.

I was never told by MS of any construction noise period when I made my reservations, although I assumed there would be some daytime noise. I read here on the boards about the 24 hour construction, other people have been told by MS that this would be the case and yet here we have another example of them saying no 24 hour construction. Maybe that is the "Best Kept Secret".

yes, conflicting construction schedule reports are quite confusing. I changed our May 2008 booking from AKV to VWL.
I wonder if the availability at AK is due to others' construction noise concerns. We really wanted the animal viewing, but didn't want to hear construction vehicles backing up all night with their loud beep beep beep.

Just got back from a few days at SSR - first trip to our new home - loved it.
Visited AKL and spoke with a very nice Resort Manager named Marilyn. I asked her about DVC villas at AKL regarding Kidani construction noise, schedule, etc. She told me that 24-hr construction at Kidani has been going on for months, and the only complaints were from a few rooms in the Sunset Savanna section that holds DVC rooms 5251 to 5285. To her knowledge the construction schedule would remain until Kidani is completed, but knew of no change in January from the present schedule.
She said that Jambo was still on track for all DVC villas there to be completed by the end of January 2008.
She also told me lots of other neat stuff, like how they had to separate the male giraffe from the pregnant female giraffes.

We have ressies at Jamba in July. If there is going to be a lot of noise, I want to know now so I can change my resort. Please anyone who knows anything, keep us up to date on news.
