Sorry if this has been answered a million times before... I'd search, but the search link seems to be gone (am I missing something?).

Anyway, where can I get more info about AKV's concierge class rooms (Kidani)? i.e. what are the perks? (besides having option to book the sunrise safari) Do they all have Savanna view?

Thanks

Of the five 2BR lockoffs (possible 10 rooms), three have savanna view, two pool view, and request for savanna view is not guaranteed. There is a lounge for food (mostly finger foods, snacks, veges) and drinks. You have access to concierge employees for making reservations or getting anything you need. You get daily maid service and turn-down service at night.

I had a thread about our concierge stay last year but I too can't seem to find the search function. In any case, if you follow the link in my signature, I have a bunch of AKV concierge pics there....

We had a pool view studio and loved it! The food offerings throughout the day were fantastic and the lodge itself is beautiful....

We loved it so much we are heading for a whole week in AKV concierge in just 3 weeks!!!!!:cool1:

I think that the other posters have covered most of it. Concierge is only in Jambo house.

The breakfast is continental style. So there is juice, coffee, tea, etc. You can also ask for soda at breakfast if that is what you prefer (I did). There are pastries, cereal, fruit, and some hot cereal.

As a concierge guest (of any WDW owned hotel) you can also book the Wildlife Discovery Expedition. It is a wonderful experience.

As a concierge guest at AKL, you can book the Wanyama Safari at a discount over other AKL guests. Our safari was too crowded to be able to view the animals well but with a smaller group, this would be spectacular as well. I'm still glad we experienced it.

nhdisnut, we spent a week in a 1 BR club level earlier this month. It was wonderful. Have fun!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

There is also the Sunrise Safari for about $60 per person. I did it back last May and had a great time!

It is wonderful, isn't it? I think the op posted that she knew about that one.

One other perk that we really appreciate is the USA Today delivered to your door each weekday morning. That was spotty this trip though.;)

Oops you are right. I guess that I didn't read it too closely. :headache:

I, too, have been trying to find a description of just what the Concierge level is all about. Are the lounge snacks all day, or just evening? Is there any alcohol included? And apparently they're not all savannah view? Is there an actual description somewhere (on the member site?)? I did see a reference to robes somewhere. Room size or amenities?

(I haven't even been able to find what the difference at AKV is for Value and Standard).

There are snacks of various types out from about 7:00 until 10. In the evening besides soda, there is also beer and wine available.

Let's see,

7 until about 10 is breakfast
from 10 until about 3 is snacks
at about 3 is "tea" which is basically more snacks

from 5 to 7 (I think) is wine, beer and hors d'ouerves
from 8 to 10 is dessert and after dinner wine.

Even if soda isn't out, you can ask for it anytime between 7 AM and 10 PM.

On wine and beer, you can also ask for it during the times when it isn't out.

As drusba posted, there are 10 two bedroom lock-offs. So at most, you can have 5 studios and 5 one bedroom villas.

Wow, thanks for all the quick and helpful replies!

I'm curious... with all the new construction, why didn't they include concierge? Does that go back to hotel vs villas thing?

Thanks again, sounds great, though with a max of only ten rooms looks tough to get.

We were there last week for 4 week nights and never got the paper delivered once. Didn't see anyone else have it, either.

The views from that high in the resort are very poor due to the roof overhang. If you do a google search you should find some pictures. There was a thread last year with a list of great pictures of the dining options, but I can't find it right now, maybe the OP will see this thread or someone has it bookmarked.

I wonder if they don't deliver USA Today until/unless someone asks now. We didn't get it the first weekday or two and then my DH asked. The concierge said something to the effect that sometimes they don't get up here.:confused3 We got it for the rest of the week. Maybe since DVCers are not used to getting newspaper delivery, most don't ask or even care. It's a little perk that we miss when we stay DVC.

There are also NYT and WSJs in the lounge. A few USAs are in the lounge too but tend to go early.

I actually enjoy those overhangs. I think they add to the charm. And at least in the villas we've had on the 6th floor, there is still plenty of room to see beyond the overhangs.

Certainly not from the concierge units I've seen. You have to squat down or move around to get a decent view. I'm guessing the overhang is exaggerated for the main building compared to the wings.

Thank you -- and I just finished reading the report from the link in your siggie -- great job. Now I'm going to have to re-prioritize and find a way to stay at AKV-C soon (except I don't have AKV points, so may not be able to get there)!

(The baby zebra photo and a few others seem to have disappeared, but really enjoyed all your great pics, especially -- and the tales of your trips to the lounge. Daisy is beautiful).

for our trip this past February we were surprised to see the USAToday @ our door every morning.

Oh, I agree that you have to move around....that's what I meant by plenty of room to still see.

We've had 6405 twice and 6201/02 once. I did not like the view from 6201 as much as the others.

The point chart for the 1 bedroom says
"All sleep up to 4, most sleep up to 5"

Do these concierge rooms 'sleep up to 5'?
