AKV $8 off & $101 price offer for current owners - Extended to 6/4!

My guide just called me to tell me DVD has just extended the $8 off/point AND the $101 pricing for current members offer to June 4! He says it is official so I could post this on the DIS. I am so happy! We are pretty sure we want to add-on 100 points but we could really use the extra time to delay paying the $$ since we're not financing.

Price for the general public is still going to increase to $104 on March 5 and there has been no word of any purchase incentives.

UPDATE (as of 3/2): See my post on 3/2 re default use year = October going on sale first to general public.

UPDATE (as as of 3/5): My Guide called to say the default use year (first on sale to general public) has changed to September.

Like you I want to purchase 100 pts. The delayed expiration date works better for me also.

Has anyone else received a phone call from their guide or heard from another source the same news?

I'm bumping this because I still see someone on the other board saying the $101 pricing + $8 off 100 or more points incentive ends this month. Has anyone else checked with their guide to verify what my guide told me?

might it not be according the number, and amount of sales. i would think it would be determined by whether enough pts had been sold in a length of time. i think they are hoping that we members will put forth enough money to take care of a good amount of construction costs. along with a little majic and pixie dust of course.

what if you become an owner after the 1/31 deadline? Will you still get the incentive? I heard you could not buy with the incentive if you were not an owner by 1/31. That was on 2/1.

I just bought this morning and just closed on Monday 2/12 on a SSR resale!! called my guide monday evening and she helped get me in the system quicker and bingo!!! today we did a 100 point add on at AKV!!! I really wanted 07 points and she indicated that even thought the incentive will continue till May, that they may be selling 08 points. We really wanted 07 points so we could bank them for a stay at AKV next year... we do all of our travel in the summer anyway. WWOOPPEE! now can someone tell me how to get those things for my 2 resorts at the bottom of my pages!! WHJOOPPIE!!

I really wanted 07 points and she indicated that even thought the incentive will continue till May, that they may be selling 08 points. We really wanted 07 points so we could bank them for a stay at AKV next year... we do all of our travel in the summer anyway. WWOOPPEE! now can someone tell me how to get those things for my 2 resorts at the bottom of my pages!! WHJOOPPIE!!

Thank you so much for this post and alerting me to the possibility that they may run out of 2007 points before the incentive period ends! I won't be saving much, if anything, if I wait until the last minute (end of May/beginning of June) to do the add-on with the $8 off incentive if I can't even get points until my October 2008 use year! I could do something better than park my money with DVD for such a long time.

He says that I should call him the morning of March 5, when sales will be open to the general public, to find out which use year will be released for sale to the general public that day. [He says he won't know before that date because DVD is trying to avoid having guides leak info to the Dis Boards. But of course if anyone of you have other inside sources -- i.e., greenban -- please post when you find out!] He said at the time he should know not just the first use year that will be released for sale to the general public but the sequence -- the other use years for sale after the first one sells out. He said it is likely that the initial 2007 use years offered for sale to the general public would be the later use years; since I have an October use year, I should keep watch.

I would guess that a lot MORE than 15k of points have been sold in 15 days.

IF you HAVE to buy '08 UY points (say, March '08), can you borrow those points prior to that actual UY occuring?

Say I wanted to travel in Jan of '08, instead....even though my very first allotment of points wouldn't "hit" unit March of '08, could I borrow them for earlier use. I know you can borrow and bank in subsequent years, but what about your FIRST year (or, actually, prior to it)??

Anybody know?

UPDATE: My guide left me a voicemail message yesterday to tell me he just learned that the October use year will be the first default use year that goes on sale to the general public on March 5. Of COURSE it had to be my use year. So I'm going to have to keep updated on how sales are going if I want 2007 points. Maybe I'll just have him get the paperwork ready and process my purchase when he sees the 2007 points getting close to selling out.

That's actually good news for me, assuming I make it into an '07 UY. We've got our preorder in with our guide...he just needs to take our money on Monday AM and submit the paperwork. Hopefully that means we will.

You can't use your points until your unit is completed (I believe).
