We just returned from a week at AKV in a 2 bedroom villa. The door between the master bedroom and the livingroom had a vent/grate on the bottom half of it. I've never experienced this before in any of the other villas we've stayed at and wonder if that's how every villa is, or just the one we got? Honestly, there may as well have been no door there, it provided absolutely no privacy. Yet the door into the second bedroom area was a big steel door like you'd see between the lock off villas....and this was definitely a dedicated 2 bedroom.

Just wondering if this is how it is in all of them as I definitely don't want another villa like it. The CMs at the front desk couldn't answer these questions, just said I should contact Member Services, which I did. But y'all are a much better source of info..and quicker! :goodvibes

I should add that we were at Kidani. I know the villa we were in at Jambo 2 years ago wasn't like this.

We had one when we were there in July. To me it seemed like the A/C unit was in the master bedroom and the thermostat was in the living room. The vent in the door was there so the air can mix into the living room IMHO.

Got a call from MS yesterday. It's nice to know they actually read the emails at least! :goodvibes He explained that they were all like that, but didn't know why. Doesn't sound like too many people have commented on it. But, I think we'll be back over at Jambo house next time, which is perfectly fine. We loved it, too.

When we stayed at Kidani in August, I noticed this as well. Mostly because the REASON the vent's there was rattling like hell for our entire stay. The return line for the heating/air was in the BR right next to the door. The vent had to be there in order for the heating and air to properly circulate throughout the villa.

Poor design. I dunno. I guess the return has to be somewhere. You decide.

Well the engineer who designed that must have flunked! That's a very poor design for airflow, and an even worse one for privacy.

honestly I never really noticed... :lmao:

Frankly, it probably isn't an issue for us, since we don't usually have anyone using the living room as a bedroom. Anyone in the second bedroom would have a very sound muffling door.

OH, my goodness!!!! I thought it was just our villa, too!! We had a 2 bedroom at Kidani last January and it was NOT PRIVATE! Privacy is a difficult thing to have with 4 kids on vacation :3dglasses ...the vent was NOT helping!! :lmao:

We stayed there for 9 days last year and I never noticed. I have to start to be more observant!

Don't understand why this is such an issue? It's a vent.....Can't see though it the louvers make sure of that? Never can understand why people expect privacy at Disney when they bring their children. When we go to Disney my wife and I have no expectations of privacy with a four year old with us. If you want privacy don't bring the kids, or stay home get a babysitter and go to the nearest Hilton for the weekend.
