my husband, myself, and son (2 at time of travel) are booked for a week in a 1 bedroom at Kidani Village. If you had your pick would you stay at KV or Jambo? We have stayed at J before but never KV. Which do you think is nicer any why?? TIA!!

Kidani is better for a 1 bedroom as it has 2 bathrooms, Jambo's 1 bedroom only has 1 bathroom... I would go with Kidani all the way, have fun!!

yes that was the only difference I noticed. Is it a far walk to get to J? which pool is better?

The walk is maybe 10 to 15 minutes. Bell Services also runs a van between the main entrances of both buildings.

The only quick service is in Jambo House (The Mara). Mugs can be refilled in the Mara.

At Kidani Village, mugs can be refilled at the resort store in the lobby or the pool bar. KV only has table service dining (Saana) which is open for lunch & dinner.

My preference is Kadani. As PP stated, the second bathroom in the 1 BR is great. I think the pool (though smaller) is batter at Kidani. There is also a water works area for kids to play in as well.

The downsizes are 1) no good Quick Service 2) can be a longer walk depending on where you are and where you want to go (pool, Lobby, transportation...). But Jambo is not a small Hotel either.

You may be a candidate for a perfectly OK trip in a Jambo 1BR.

Kidani has a full master en-suite, with a very spatious master bathroom that has a seperate shower and jacuzzi tub. Plus it may be nice to tell the husband, "use that 2nd bathroom. I get the big one"

In Jambo, you have to step into the jacuzzi tub to use the shower, plus the bathroom is "across a hall" from the bedroom. That lack of privacy may mean more as the child becomes older.

Personally, I think the Jambo arrangement would still be ok for a couple if you are willing to give a little space for better dining access. With a larger family, I'd choose the space.

I'd go for Kidani. We had no problems "lugging" the 2 kids (4 & just turned 2) between the 2 resorts for meals. The shuttle van was pretty good. It only goes between the two hotels.

1. Kidani is first to be picked up and dropped off for buses. Plus Jambo always has a large crowd.
2. Marketplace at Kidani has basics and sells a hot breakfast sandwich. I think they had oatmeal too. Drink refill is much more convenient, on the way to the buses. We did more breakfast in the room!
3. Water play area for the kids is great.

Kidani pool has the water play area which will be perfect for your child. Smaller more intimate pool but equally awesome. Also you get to board the resort buses 1st and return 1st as well, except to n from DTD.

I have also stayed at Jambo, but this year we're trying out Kidani. The big thing I think we're going to miss is not having the Mara close by. We frequently went here for some meals snacks n drinks.
