Last week, we added another Disney weekend to our already stretched vacation budget (Family trip to UK, and for DH and me 30th anniversary cruise and a visit to WDW for F&W and onward to Amelia Island to visit old college friends in the fall). Then, our college age son expressed a desire to visit Grandma in Clearwater and then go on to WDW in August. Juggling a lot of frequent flier and hotel points, I was able to conjure a three night weekend with free airfare and one free night at a hotel near Grandmas and two nights at WDW, which are definitely not free. DS is too tall to sleep in a sofabed, so villas are not an option. I booked two standard rooms at AKL where we've stayed twice and had nothing but good experiences. Then, DS asked about a savannah room, which at the time was not available, but is now for $100 more per night than standard. However, I've always wanted to stay at POR which is in the same price range as AKL. Also, WL has standard rooms for slighly more ($12) than AKL. But, there's still construction and we have been there before. Our plan would be to do a waterpark on our day of arrival and then split the next day between DHS and Epcot and spend the last day at MK. Any recommendations would be very helpful. TIA
