ok guys i need help, i currently have a standard room booked for 2 weeks in sept/oct i will most likely upgrade to a pool view when ap rates come out ( if avail) my questions:

any info on what rooms i should request for standard and pool would be much appreciated . ( of course i would be happy with anything)

last oct we were savanna 2nd floor 2 rooms from very end ( it was a free upgrade so it was worth it regardless) long walk tho

We stayed in Sept 03 and had poolview rooms that were WONDERFUL. We were on the third floor just above the spa. We sat on the balcony every morning and listened to the soft music and looked at the beautiful pool area and the flamingoes in the distance. So for our Dec. 04 stay we booked poolview again with that idyllic notion in mind. Well....they put us on the first floor next to Mara. There was dense vegetation clear up to the balcony and all we could see were gum wrappers and various other bits of trash on the ground beneath the bushes and heads of people walking by to the pool and Mara. It was awful and not at all what I envisioned. We were so disappointed. I called to ask for a different pool view since our view was NO view, and I was told they were booked and there was nothing they could do for me. It was a long story that I have told before so I will skip it but the end result was we were moved to Savannah on the fifth floor but it took much frustration to get there. They told me that tho I did not consider that room to be pool view, they did and that I was paying for access to the pool, not the view! So be sure and ask NOT to be put there!

thank you thank you for the tip. thats unfortunate that happened to you.

Any disappointment with not staying in a Savanah room???? We are thinking about staying standard in December and are unsure...

We also stayed Savannah view the last time we went. This time we are staying Pool View. The walk was long since we were at the end last time. Also we did not see THAT many animals and in fact saw more when we were walking outside and even looking through the windows while walking inside.
We love the resort but we thought we would try a different view. Also hopefully we will be closer to things which would be nice.

Our first trip was Savannah View, and when we go back in July we are just staying standard. While I would love to have a savannah view, it is just not in our budget this time. Having been there before, I can say that there are a TON of places to view the animals and there is so much fun stuff to do there that I don't think it will be a problem if we don't have animals outside out balcony.
