I cant even imagine that happening. Many visitors are international and dont have international CCs. They exchange their currency for dollars when they arrive. Just form reading these boards, I know many others often pay for their whole trip in cash or gift cards.
Edit: I just saw this...
Jambo House at the Resort will be the first location to accept electronic payment only for all purchases and services. Guests with resort or dining reservations during the pilot program are being advised of the change.
Valid forms of payments that will be accepted include MagicBands, credit cards, debit cards, Disney Gift Cards, Disney Rewards Redemption Cards and electronic payments methods such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay or Google Pay.
Although the resort will be cash-less during the pilot period, they will continue to accept cash for tips and guests staying at the resort can use cash to add to their room charge capabilities.
Dumb Dumb Dumb Dumb.
I do not like using my debit card and some of my credit cards on vacation. I need to inform the banks I will be traveling and in a couple of instances, my card was declines until I called then and told them it was me actually making the purchase. Its a hassle and to risky to possibly be declined.
I put my Disney Visa CC on my resort/magic band and dont seem to have an issue, but my daughter uses her cash for souvenirs and if we are nearing the end of the week and still have a good amount of cash on us (for emergencies, ubers, tips etc..) we start using the cash to pay for things to get rid of it and not add to our CC.
Just knowing cash is not an option would make me nervous (even though I dont use it 99% of the time). Always have to have a plan B !!!
